Posting a review here in addition to the google review I just left. I wanted to put in a good word for this place. I'm not a local (obviously if you look at some of my other reviews) but I have lived in Old Saybrook for about two years now and I've used this place multiple times. They are both reliable and priced fairly and I've always been confident in their ability to fix anything on my vehicle.

Also worth noting is that there isn't any kind of good old boy pricing system here. They are just as fair to out of towners as they are to locals. I highly recommend them for all your car repair needs.

Honest and trustworthy auto mechanics. I moved to Old Saybrook about two years ago and needed to find a reliable mechanic. These guys passed the test! They do the work they say they're going to do and it is completed at a fair price. It's nice also that there isn't a good old boy pricing network here, anyone from out of town is going to get the same fair treatment. I strongly recommend them for all your auto repair needs!

Absolutely five star Experience. The service was very friendly, knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile. Everything was done as they said it would be and The price was amazing as compared to what I would've had to pay at the dealership! I will never take my car anywhere else and I will be telling everyone I know about Oceanside Auto!

I had a large bubble forming on my tire and frantically called Oceanside hoping they could help. Despite the short notice, they were able to help me within two hours so that I could travel safely and wouldn't be stuck without a car. Their kindness and assistance is something hard to find these days so I will most definitely be using them again.

Great family owned business. Willing to work with their customers - especially returning customers. They provides rides to and from home - locally of course, and loaners (based on availability) are an option. Definitely recommend!

My daughters car broke down on 95 on Christmas Eve. I called a local shop and they couldn't fit me in but He referred me to Oceanside and they were able to help me out and were extremely professional and polite. Awesome service. Got the car back in a day. Services: Electrical repair, Engine repair

I rarely bother to write reviews unless something really great or really terrible. Odd to say I love a car repair place, but I love these guys. I have been twice now and this is my go-to moving forward. We have two cars and have had service in various places across NYC and CT. These guys will now be my go-to. Easy to get an appointment. Everyone there is super nice.

First time I went there it turned out to be a small issue so they didn't charge me to help. Second time was a full year maintenance and the price still felt really low. They got me in and out an hour. Strong yes to Ocean Side Auto.

We dropped off our teen's car without an appointment because it needed a headlight. A short while later we received a call letting us know the light was changed and the car was ready. No hassles. Fair price. Good work. Highly recommend. Service: General repairs & maintenance

I try not to leave negative reviews unless I had a really negative experience. Instead, I like to leave really positive reviews on the places that helped me the most. I brought my truck to Town Fair Tire to have a simple alignment done after I replaced the rack and pinion (due to a leak and loud clunking sounds). When I got home, I slid a piece of cardboard under my truck to see if I could catch any remaining leaks in my power steering system, and that's when I saw what Town Fair Tire did you my truck.

They twisted the boot on my rack and pinion so tightly that when I brought it back to them, they couldn't fix it. TFT sent me to Oceanside Auto and told me they'd pay for whatever repairs I needed to fix the situation. I appreciate them trying to make it right. I dropped it off and within 10 minutes they were already checking it out and had it up on a lift in one of their bays.

It was about 20 minutes before they closed so I left expecting them to finish it the next day. At about 5:45 that same evening (45 mins after they closed), I got a call telling me they were able to fix my truck, let me know that the boot didn't tear, and confirmed that I didn't owe them anything. I came back the next day and was in and out in 5 minutes. They're also about 5 minutes from my house so I will definitely be using their services again in the future. I have also attached a picture of what TFT did to my truck, and then an after picture after Oceanside Auto fixed its.

The people at Oceanside are great. They do what needs to be done quickly and we'll. I've been coming here for years and every time the check engine light comes on, I take it in. They're honest and kind and very helpful. Once I had an appointment to drop off my car and my ride bailed on me. I intended to just sit for a few hours while they fixed the car, but someone drove me home so I could pick it up later. They're just really good people and go above and beyond.

Dan and the guys at Oceanside are fantastic. It's not often that you find polite, friendly people who do great work. I'm a customer for life.

I got my admissions tested here today. The staff was awesome and friendly. Service was quick.the gentleman doing the service was helpful and kind. I will definitely be back.

Unfortunately this place has gone down hill. I think they used to be honest but not any more. Greed has taken over. The last time we used Oceanside was for emissions testing and the guy that did it was SO rude! And that was after I waited at least 45 minutes. As I left I kept asking myself why I subjected myself to their rudeness? We've since found a mechanic that is great and very fair with pricing. And there is another emissions testing center right down the road and they are friendly too! Maybe it's me but I just don't like rude people.

Went to Oceanside Auto for emissions test. First time customer. Person behind desk was abrupt. Took my keys, $20 cash and emissions notice card, and said it will "be a few." There was only one car ahead of me, so I figured it would be a 15 to 20 minute wait at the most until my car was taken in for the test. Waited over 1/2 hour. The car ahead of me was still in the test bay. I left without getting my emissions test done there. The person who returned my items to me was very nice, but no apology or explanation for the long wait time.

Trying to upsell to their overpriced diagnostic services, off of simple easily corrected emissions failures. Turns out there is a simple way that cars will automatically fail emissions: if any of the check engine lights are on (which can often be a simple fix as false alarms and resets are common ) instead of pointing this out they tried to high pressure me and get me to make an instant appointment on the spot for repairs. Shady. Shady. Shady.

I guess they want to snag you before you can check some inexpensive fixes with a quick internet search. I wouldn't have even known any better if I hadn't retested somewhere else with people who have an actual conscience. Shame on them! Shame on the owner for this tactic. Shame on the staff who enact this. Shame. Shame. The mechanic who did my test is actually a sweet older guy and the only reason for a two star, but I question why he would participate in this rude.

Oceanside Auto LLC - Old Saybrook, CT - 4/17/2016 After the convertible slept thru winter it was time to wake her from her sleep. As expected the batter was drained and an added bonus of the flat right from tire. I called AAA who dispatched Rick from Oceanside Auto. Rick was prompt, courteous and had everything with him to get me going. Some air, a jumper pack and good to go! Thanks for the great service.

Brought my car to Oceanside yesterday with multiple issues including the check engine light on. Dan call me within an hour and said there were 10 codes showing. He recommended we take care of the oil leak and change the spark plugs which have never been changed. He said he would reset the codes and we would wait until the check engine light comes back on.

I found this be very fair. He could have said we need to fix all this. It would have cost me money that I don't have. I believe they are honest and hard-working people and would not hesitate to recommend them. Also they provide a loner car so you don't need to inconvenience family or friends I would not hesitate to return their again

First time here and very impressed. Professional communication, great work, and finished in a timely manner. I needed car for work and they accommodated me. Price seems to be fair. I will be coming back.

Oceanside Auto is, by far, the best auto repair shop that I have ever been to and the only one I will be taking my car to for any maintenance or repairs. I live in New Haven and willingly travel the 35+ minutes it takes to get to Oceanside because I know that it is worth my time and money. I found the shop randomly -- I wanted to get emissions testing done on a new used car and Oceanside was close to the Old Saybrook DMV.

My experience talking to the staff (especially Mary) and the customers during that first visit confirmed to me that I had found a gem of a place. Everyone who came in the shop seemed to know the owner, David, and David knew his customers so well that he'd ask them about ongoing events in their lives. I doubt I will ever meet a business owner who cares more about his customers.

I had a few concerns about the car I'd just purchased, and as a young female, I was worried that I would get scammed or talked into unnecessary repairs. I couldn't have been more wrong -- Dave personally checked out my Subaru without charging me a dime and gave me a rundown of the most to least urgent concerns. The price he quoted for replacement of my front rotors was over $100 less than other shops had quoted.

He spent extra time explaining to me what signs and noises I should look out for and getting me acquainted with my new vehicle. Not only that, but he and his mechanics know what they are doing when it comes to repairs; the parts they have worked on have never had further trouble. I can't say enough positive things about Oceanside. I fully disagree with the reviewer below's experience with Oceanside -- not only have my experiences been nothing like what she described, but I have a hard time imagining how she could be describing the same repair shop that I have been going to.

So, I'm on a tight budget, and I work 60 hour weeks at my job. Oceanside fixed my truck in 4 hours at a fair price despite of being really busy, took my payment over the phone and even left my key out for me so I could pick it up late. Mary in the office is a fabulous person who is very professional and gave me couple calls to tell me about the progress on my truck. The mechanics were helpful and courteous, and seemed happy to work there. I will recommend Oceanside to anyone.

My truck broke down a few weeks ago and called Oceanside to help me out. Dave and his crew were not only professional but it was truly refreshing to get such great service these days at an auto repair shop. Also Mary who I think handle the office kept in touch with me during the whole process can't day enough good about this place.
