Autohaus Munich has exceptional attention to detail. I brought my electric Fiat 500 in for its first service since buying the car used and these guys found everything wrong with it and fixed it: air filter, brake fluid, light bulbs, tire replacement and alignment, and even fixed the back hatch that rattled! My car has never been so quiet and runs better than when I got it! It is gratifying that they were so thorough because I'm taking are of a 92-year old woman and want to ensure that she is as safe as possible. Thank you Autohaus Munich!

The service we have received on our Audi with Les and his team has been wonderful! He has been extremely helpful, friendly, straight forward and willing to go the extra mile. Fast service and response time. His prices are very reasonable and we have never had reoccurring issues after work has been done. I would recommend his shop to anyone!

Called for an appointment on March 9th to have all the exterior light bulbs changed as two had burned out and also the heater had suddenly stopped working, the brake light sensor was on and I wanted an overall check up. Greg told me to bring the car in on the 15th. I met Les ( the boss) at a little after 9 AM and we reviewed/confirmed what the appointment was for.
He thought they could do everything that day for under $1,000. He called me every day with new things that were bad, worn out or safety concern and had my approval each day. Amazing neglect was found by previous mechanics - for example one shop in LA said we had a brake sensor that was bad but checked the brakes and said they were fine. This shop actually found the car needed brakes and someone had cut the sensor wire and taped it off. Picked up that car before closing on the 19th. Yes, several thousand in parts and labor was owed.
All this was within the price and timing we agreed to. I also was able to visually see a milk crate full of the "shot" parts the were replaced. I like this shop and find them to be worth giving them my business.

Les was very accommodating and was able to take in my Audi with short notice. Even when he had staff issues on the day of my appointment, he went above and beyond to make sure that the work was completed before my deadline. He was a little grumpy but I love his honesty. Greg was also very knowledgable and professional and such a great guy to deal with.
The work was clean and I noticed that they have great attention to detail. Their rates are reasonable and they are honest and transparent with everything. If you're in San Diego or beyond, give Les a call first!

Came there with my vw cc because my power steering was giving me issues when was going around curves on highways and would steer in a different direction. They looked at my car and told me I need a new power steering and it's going to be over $2000. Went to 3 other places. Everybody told me something different. Last place which was a place for alignment, told me to get new tires in the back because they worn out on the inside and that can mess up the power steering. $100 later with the new tire and 7 months later, still no issue with my power steering. That would've been an expensive mistake for me

Very friendly and forthcoming establishment. I was under the impression my transmission had to be replaced, which had me worried. They provided me different options and prices prior to working on my car. After they diagnosed the problem, it turns out my onboard computer needed to be updated. They are a small shop with few mechanics, so it took longer to fix and return my car to me -- not a deal breaker for me.

I cannot say enough great things about this shop! I am a new business owner operating out of Sprinters and due to some last minute issues I was referred here and they had me up and running in no time! They are the kindest individuals, very honest, and professional people that did not make me feel stupid asking questions and took time to explain the issues and needed repairs. I am so glad I found them! My business and my personal vehicles are customers for life, thank you guys!

For my first trip to Autohaus Munich, I had just gotten a repair estimate from another private BMW shop. The other shop said I needed: - a $1,700 rebuilt computer board - it would be rebuilt in New Jersey - It would take 2-3 weeks, probably more since it was Christmas - I would have to rent a car while my car was not drivable Peter at Autohaus Munich did some research and discovered that I needed a wheel bearing.
It was done that day for a few hundred dollars. It was a much better Christmas! In the half dozen times I have been there since, I have always felt they got the work done quickly and fairly. What more can we auto owners ask for?

Fantastic service. I think all the good reviews are because regular BMW dealers absolutely scalp you. These guys are the real deal, they know their stuff and they're fair and honest. They always go above and beyond to help me find the best solution for my problem and are very up front about costs. I'll probably keep coming back here for as long as I have an Audi.

I bought a used Jetta last year (from a used car dealer) that was approaching 100K miles so I expected for there to be some needed maintenance. When I purchased my Jetta, my family and friends recommended that I find a mechanic that specializes in German cars so I switched to Autohaus Munich because it was close to where I lived and had good reviews.
I've been blown away with their service. There was some unusual things about my Jetta that the mechanic, Peter, brought to my attention that hadn't been brought to my attention when I had my previous mechanic do a prepurchase inspection. I potentially needed a part ordered from Germany and the owner was able to get me a quote in no time. I brought my Jetta back for some part replacements that Peter found from the initial service. He was extremely helpful and I appreciated his honesty. I'm extremely satisfied with my overall experience with Autohaus Munich.

Les is legit. If you have a German car, don't go anywhere but here. He may charge a little extra for an oil change, but he won't charge $5,000 for a brake job like a dealership. How do you find a trustworthy mechanic? I didn't think they existed. Les changed my mind. I'll never go anywhere else until I move out of San Diego. (Vasily C. 2012 S550)

I would definitely give Autohaus Munich 6 stars if it were possible! When I first moved here, I took my Audi to a mechanic I found online with really good reviews. However, he didn't specialize in german cars, so one time he told me he didn't have enough knowledge to diagnose the particular issue at the time. He then referred me to Les at Autohaus Munich in Point Loma, and I've been a loyal customer ever since! Les is an honest, German mechanic that really knows German cars.
This was immediately proven to me when the car he used to drop me off at work was an incredibly difficult car to upkeep. He has a small shop right off the 8 in Point Loma, open 8am-5pm Monday to Friday. I am also really impressed with Peter on his staff. He physically shows me the damaged part of my car, explaining what exactly was done and why. I'm the kind of person that loves learning and asks about 150 questions, so you can only imagine how this thrills me so. Plus, he's just a cool guy.
So is Les! Les is the kind of mechanic that is smart enough to fix things, not just replace parts. He saved me over $1,000 on my air conditioner because he took a chance and researched an alternative fix. I will continue to take my car to his shop until its dying breath. And then, I might buy a car from him because he also rebuilds old cars!

Absolutely one of the best European car shops in San Diego. Knowledgeable, kind and quick to offer multiple solutions, Peter is one of the several outstanding folks at Autohaus, and had a look at my BMW F10 this last week. He spent a considerable amount of time attempting to track down a couple of likely electrical gremlins, and following a day of troubleshooting, he simply wouldn't take my money.
Of course, I'll be back as a result, and I can see why a lot of people are loyal to this Midway area spot. Great rates on services, with real master techs on site, this is a neat spot to take your BMW, Audi, Mercedes or other Teutonic sled. Great people, cool shop and strong pricing- Recommended!

Let's just say that Les is more. (See what I did there?) But seriously. Les is the man. He's German. He knows what he's talking about. And he's not out to fleece you. And with Les, there's no bullshit whatsoever. That could turn off some people. He can be blunt. But work through it, you won't be sorry. So. before I met Les and co.
I went to a dealer to try and turn off a check engine light. A massive bill resulted. Not what I wanted. I not so politely told the dealer where to go. Did some research. and called Les. He was honest and told me I had options. Tell me more, I said. Well. Long story short, Les and team not only saved me thousands, but did very solid work. My VW Jetta sportwagen is running great.
He even proactively had the car smog checked for me. I was out of state and didn't even know. I love that he just ran with it. Short story: this place is legit. Honest approach. Good work. Zero complaints from this driver.

I had a stripped out oil plug and jiffy lube and midas wouldnt touch it. I brought it here because i know this shop has the best experts about older generation BMWs. Peter explained to me the procedure with confidence and gave me a great quote. I was kind of stranded and he got it in and out very quick, cutting his lunch short. He also offered me a lot of insight about other issues with the car and I felt much better about my car after his assesment.
The owner has many years experience with BMW and Mercedes and I have consulted him several times in the years I've lived in Point Loma. If youre an enthusiast for BMW or Benz you should see him if your looking for a nice used car. Thanks Peter

Took my car here on a recommendation from a friend. I was leary because I don't trust auto mechanics from my past experiences but didn't want to take my car to a dealership either. These guys were great and I felt completely comfortable. They were very professional and specialize in BMWs using only BMW oem parts which is important to me. Lascheck (sp?) and Peter were very nice and helpful.
They diagnosed the issue and would recommend the right fix. and the best part. they did not call me an hour later to tell me I had 5 other things that needed fixing. I hate that up sell crap. They only called me when my car was done. Their prices are much more affordable than the dealership. I trust this shop and will only take my car here from now on. Thanks guys!

I don't even know where to start with this scam of an auto mechanic. If you want to pay out the nose for terrible car service and even worse customer service attitude go here. I took my Audi here the other day for an easy fix job only because it was close to my house. They end up telling me the whole radiator needs to be replaced as well as the headlight. Radiator job is going to be 950 and their price on the headlight would be 2800.
Oh and they only use their own crappy parts, which I would not be allowed to buy myself. I call my usual mechanic tells me the part is only 250 and the headlight new would be 2100. So basically they are over charging 700 on each part for their shitty labor services. Naturally wanting to save myself 700 dollars I call and say I'm going to take it elsewhere, he " Peter"says ok that's fine with a hint of sarcasm in his voice.
When I go in there just expecting to tow my car out of there Peter gives me the worst attitude being the little condescending cretin he is and charges me 110 dollars to take my front bumper off. We get in an argument where he tells me never to come again and I told him he's a con artist charging hard working people out the ass because his store has a German sounding name.
So in their mind they were gonna make their margin off me one way or another and he was pissed I saw right through his scam. Turns out my guy only charged me 445 where as I would have paid 950 for the same job and with terrible customer service attitude. If you have an Audi, BMW, or Benz and go in there and have to deal with Peter or any other scam artist do yourself a favor and turn around and go to literally anyone else, you'll pay half and won't have to deal with Peters' I charge triple attitude.

If you want to deal with bunch of charlatanism and unprofessional ism. You are more then welcome to go to this place. Starting from this guy Les that is introducing him self as a knowledgeable and all know, no worries kinda guy to his helper Peter who has such an attitude that will leave you speechless as a customer. Not just that they dont know what they are talking about, they will take your car, waste your time and tell you that they dont wanna work on it.
I brought them my 2003 RS6. Very rare and desirable car, for a DRC charge and inspection thinking that they are the place to go.wow I made such a mistake. From all the options he was giving me, doing the coil overs, sprigs or just charging the system, he give me such a runaround and wasted my time for all the money. He will just call you out of the blue and tell you right off the bat to come in and take the car since he dont know how to work on it.
No sorry, we did our best, or what ever. So rude, and unprofessional. Dont let the price lure you in. There is a reason for that. Looking at the website will not give you a realistic description. Go there and you will see a rundown one bay garage with like one you see in middle east countries. Things all over the place, loud grinding noise from all the blacksmith banging, no real mechanical and IT knowledge about sufisticated German cars.
So disappointed. You will be better off going to Escondido German Auto or any other place. If you need some insides on this incident you can contact me any time. Im on my way to pickup my car.if there is just a scratch on it?! thank you

Was referred to Autohaus Munich by a friend. Took my Jetta in for a brake job. They opened on time and took my car into the queue without keeping me waiting around unnecessarily. I received a call a few hours later with a quote (I figured the rotors were ready to go, and they were) and I gave the go-ahead. Picked up my car at the end of the day and it was good to go, price was just as quoted.
Throughout the whole process they were very professional. The work was honest and never did I get the typical shady talk that most mechanics use these days. The price was reasonable. The job could be done for cheaper elsewhere, but the difference for the integrity and specific expertise with the cars they service is well worth it. Autohaus Munich has earned another repeat customer! I will (inevitably) be back!
