Amazing work done by an amazing crew. Steve and Ron were great to do business with. They were thorough in their explanations, they listened to my amateur self diagnosis (which was poor at best haha), and most importantly, they were transparent about everything. Oh, and Mikey was a saint and gave me a lift home. From beginning-to-end, a 5-star experience!

Steve and rob seemed generally competent whenever I 1st met them. They diagnosed my Allison transmission as having a bad 5th gear. I replaced the Transmission with a warranted new unit. The truck started having problems immediately. I took it back to the same transmission shop same transmission shop Steve and Bob told me that 3rd year was bad in the new one.
They then kept it for one month telling me they were gonna look at it or work on it. They lost the keys and didn't do anything besides locked themselves out. I had the original transmission taken apart and inspected and there was no damage to 5th year. Legal proceedings will begin shortly. I would never recommend this shop. They have no honesty in their body.

The good: - Very nice on phone - I believe the diagnostics were correct, though they just checked the code The bad: - Shop told me the part from the dealer cost $800, I called the dealer to confirm it is $480. - Shop said the time they would charge me for is 6 hours, more than double the time listed in the book - Shop tried to tell me I needed a licensed mechanic with special codes from the dealer to replace a transmission, this is just not true.
I did check the manufacturer to be sure and the listed procedures in the system (access to licensed shop) I can't recommend them, they tried to feed me a lot of incorrect information. Talked to another shop and the same work from them was quoted at $350 for the part (not dealer) and 2 hours to replace. Overall 1/3 the cost they quoted me. I'd stay away.

I had a fantastic experience working with Ann Arbor Transmissions on a recent car issue. I fell victim to the flooded roads and they were able to get my car back in action. They worked with my insurance and made sure everything was handled. Steve answered all of my calls and he was helpful and knowledgable every step of the way. I dropped my mom off this morning so they could check her check engine light and outside temperature gauge. I just went with her to pick it up and none of the electronics were working. This was not like that when we dropped it off this morning. We did not leave the parking lot went right back inside. The man said bring it back next week. We asked if he could look at it and if it was safe to drive.
He said he was busy, shrugged his shoulders and said just bring it back next week. So we are stuck with a more broken car then we had this morning for at least the weekend. Obviously they do not care about customer safety in the things you can see, I wonder how unsafe their work under the hood is.

Had them rebuild a Transmission in one of our F150 trucks a year and a half ago. Then transmission went again last week. Planetary gear is bad they told me there is no way it would go bad unless something else is bad. I found this to be inaccurate information. I contacted 2 other local transmission shops and was told that this is a really common issue with that truck and transmission.
I was told that there is a needle thrust bearing that commonly goes bad and causes this exact issue. I was then told that since it is a commercial vehicle We only get a one year warranty which was not told to me during the initial repair. They did offer me a $2300 rebuild compared to the $2700 they charged me last time. I get it things break but not feeling great about them misleading me and not telling me about the warranty on a commercial vehicle. I gave them 2 starts because it worked for a year and a half.

I brought my truck in because something was wrong. I was told my rear end needed to be replaced no problem let's do it. 4 months later the rear end started having the same problem as before. I take it back, thinking it should be still under warranty, that was a mistake, after spending $1600 the first time, they said it would be another $800. They had explained to me that they were trying to save me money the first time so they didn't replace everything and the part that was broken was something that they didn't replace. So I reluctantly paid it now another six months is passed in my oil change guy said that it looks like it needs to be replaced again.

I was very happy with the way they conducted business. I spoke with Tom on the phone after having my transmission go out. Immediate he got a tow truck to come get it. Only after a few days, I had a better then new transmission. When I went to pick the vehicle up, I discovered that they also changed the torque converter. I was so happy to hear this.
I would never have thought the price they gave me had that included. I also had them change the shift lever to repair the tow/haul mode. Excellent work!, a 2 year warranty!, and very friendly service. Thanks again Tom!
