SO happy with Carl's Car Care! Due to bad information that Autonation had given me about replacing my battery, their advice caused a big problem with my dual-zone AC, one side would blow super cold, the other side would blow super HOT! Worrying about a hurricane forming inside my SUV, I talked extensively to Autonation about the issue, educated THEM about it, and they agreed to try to fix it for no charge.
They had the vehicle twice for many days, and then finally said one actuator was bad and they would replace it and the cost would be just under $1,000. Unbelievable. I then took the car to Carl and in less than 24 hours, he changed the oil, and diagnosed TWO actuators that were bad, he replaced them both and charged me HALF what Autonation wanted for a problem THEY caused.
We are loving Carl long time! This was for a 2021 Chevy Traverse. NOTE: If you have a Chevy or GMC vehicle, do NOT replace your battery before first hooking up a battery-saver thingie. Expensive lesson learned!

We decided to go with Carl's car care after our neighbor closed down his mechanic shop and we had no clue where to go. Carl's came highly recommended from my co worker. Our Cadillac needed some urgent repairs we couldn't figure out. Everybody there was so nice and kept us informed every step of the way. Their prices are very reasonable.
They even texted us thanking us after we picked up our vehicle! My hubby has his Cadi back and we're super happy to have a new go to mechanic. Even my hubby is impressed. Thank you so much

Called to get a quote for a part & replacement on my vehicle (Acura) that a nearby tire shop recommended I get replaced. Provided year make and model and part that needed replacing. Whomever I spoke to on the phone specifically told me that vehicle doesn't even have that specific part (upper control arm) which is simply not true I regarded this as strange when I was told that (A quick Google search will prove otherwise as well as me personally conferring twice with tire shop As well as my own personal knowledge of the vehicles having worked on it myself many times.) Now I understand why certain businesses may be hesitant to provide actual quotes online and want to look at your car in person due to many people price shopping online, but don't tell me a car doesn't have a common part that all acuras / Hondas have.
Regardless I gave the person the benefit of the doubt perhaps they misheard the year make and model or who knows. What irked me was the general attitude of "we are busy, you're price shopping don't waste my time" type of deal. was told the shop was busy enough that I wouldn't even be able to be looked at(no problem) sounds like they are a busy business as their labor reviews are good but their customer service skills severely lack I will not take my business here - they didn't need it

Very professional and trust worthy. Had my gf 2015 camaro blend door fixed with no problems. Showed us it worked before leaving the shop and showed pictures of the work being done to the car. Very happy and would recommend this shop to any car owner. Services: Air conditioning, A/C installation & repair

On my book, nothing any better. Trust and integrity are the key words here. Probably thousands of car service facilities around town but WHO do you choose and WHO can you trust. Carl's Car Care pulls 100% with me. Been going there since 2009, not one single issue to date. Very fair prices and clean facility. Knowledgeable and super friendly staff. From a simple oil change to replacing a transmission, would encourage anyone to try them.

I Just called to ask how much would it be to have some part on the A/C to be fixed and Carl the Owner get's mad at Me for asking A Question? and I even Appoglize for upsetting Him For Asking A Question! Carl's Response was Nothing He Just Hung Up On Me! & He says He is A My Of God! What God Allows Ppl Like That To Heaven, I Rather Stay Down Here! I Will Never Do Business with This Man Again And I Will Never Promote His Business Ever Again! Mr. HARMON

The owner of this shop who's name is Carl Walker does not follow the mask mandate. Carl, his secretary and at least one of his mechanic's were not wearing masks when I came here. He's the most unprofessional auto mechanic I've ever met. I was nicely telling him that him and his staff should be wearing masks since they are required by law in a place of business and because of the high number of COVID cases now.
He yells at me and tells me like 10 times that there's no law that requires it which is not true. He accused me of lecturing him when I wasn't at all. He kicked me out of his shop and then cusses at me and called me the R word. This moron acts like just because he owns the shop that he doesn't have to follow the law. Avoid this shop at all costs! Don't let these great reviews fool you. Carl is a tool!

I've been coming to Carl's for about a year now and I cannot day enough about this place! I wish I had found it sooner. Everyone is so helpful and personable. They explain what they are doing right down to the price of every thing done. They are super quick and very efficient! I won't take my car anywhere else.

My girlfriend and I have a Chevy Cobalt that we've needed serviced a few times over the years. We always drive (to the other end of town, because he's THIS GOOD) to go to Carl! My lady, Vivian, along with her family, all use Carl time and time again. His pricing is always fair and the work is done within an appropriate window of time. It's always nice to support a smaller, locally owned business. Hats off to you, Carl! & your team!

If you want an honest evaluation of your car, go everywhere else, then bring your reports of "Everything " that "Must" be done on your car, and then come here! Not only do Carl's prices blow away the Competition, but Carl will give you an honest assessment of the work that needs to be done on your car! I drive a BMW, and I am Sick & Tired of the dishonesty in the Repair business!
Thank you Carl for telling me straight up that the "list" I brought you today, was not only Unwarranted, but Unnecessary! You have earned my business, and you will be seeing me again! By the way, I loved seeing all the plaques & awards on your office! You Definitely Deserve them!

I got stranded in Glendale with a van that suddenly needed repair. On a friend's recommendation I had it towed here. These guys worked me in same day. I received a very fair price. I was impressed with their honesty and integrity, as well as how much they cared about us. If I lived in Glendale I would use them all the time.

We took our 96 Dodge Ram to Carl's recently to make sure everything was in proper working order for our son to drive it since it had been stalling. Carl's checked it out completely and determined that a new battery was in order. They had it all day, checked it out completely, and charged us for the new battery and a very small charge to install.
We always bring our vehicles here because we can count on Carl's to be honest he is definitely a straight shooter and maybe that blunt honestly can come across as rude. (See previous reviews) But I would rather pay for blunt honesty then someone who gives you a bunch of b.s and over charges.

Because of Carl's Car Care, I just shredded my Pep Boys rewards card. My son's car started leaking fuel, so I told him to run his car to Carl's Car Care and get it checked out. Last summer, when his A/C went out, Carl's Car Care repaired his air conditioner for $200 less than Pep Boys' estimated cost to fix. However, since he's a college student and still a dependent, everything is basically free for him, so he didn't think it was a big deal to drive his car to Pep Boys since it was "closer to where we live". BIG MISTAKE!
They took a over a day to diagnose the problem, and I had my son repeatedly call them for status updates. Two days later, I get the news that his car needs over $2800 in repairs! For a simple fuel leak? I gave my son a big "I told you so", and had him drive his happy behind straight to Carl's. Carl told my wife (whom I called to help out my son since he was getting bamboozled by Pep Boys), "Don't worry, ma'am. We'll get this figured out for you." She said she instantly felt as ease talking to Carl.
Within a couple of hours, Carl called and said the car was repaired and ready to go at a grand total of. Drum roll please. $47 dollars and some change. Hrmmmm, let's see. Pep Boys $2800 vs Carl's Car Care $47. Both values speak volumes about their respective companies. Long story short, if you are looking at major repairs for your car, go see Carl - at the very least get a second opinion from Carl. My second obvious suggestion - AVOID PEP BOYS 7440 W Peoria Ave, Peoria, AZ 85345 unless you have a few extra thousand to piss away!

I really wanted to like Carl's Car Care, I really did. Normally taking my car straight to the dealer to get serviced, I figured I would try a local shop to save moneys and support small businesses. The reviews on Yelp checked out and their website boasted they were the "best honest automotive care." I used this shop a total of 2 times. My first time was for a simple oil change that had positive results except for them parking my car under a tree with the moonroof open.
When I picked up my car I was greeted with an interior decorated with dead leaves. Not a huge deal since I'm a pretty outdoorsy kind of guy, it was like camping on the go. It was more of an annoyance than anything to keep me from returning. My 2nd time was for a clicking engine noise I heard. Turns out my power steering pump decided it didn't want to work anymore.
A couple hundred dollars and a few hours later, I return to pick up my car. Drove it home without any problems and saw that the power steering pump was indeed replaced, albeit with an aftermarket OEM one. Fast forward 6 months. I am now residing in Tucson for work and begin to notice a squealing coming from my car on cold morning and when I turn the steering wheel.
It sounded like I maybe needed to adjust the tension on my power steering belt or something. Since Carl's Car Care was only open M-F from 7-6, there was no way for me to bring my car in since I had to work those exact same hours. No big deal, I bring my car into the local dealership to take a look at the belt. Adjusting a power steering shouldn't be too expensive.
Too bad the problem wasn't with the timing belt, but was that the whole power steering pump was now broken and needed to be replaced. In just 6 months, the OEM pump that Carl's Car Care replaced was already faulty. Now, I'm no mechanic but I'm pretty sure they are supposed to last longer than that. Since I was already at the dealership in Tucson and couldn't make the store hours of Carl's, I went ahead and let them replace it with a factory power steering pump.
Later that night I compared the costs of each install and discovered that the dealership install was only $50 more than Carl's install. One of the main reason why I went to Carl's was to save money. In retrospect, with both places charging me about the same, I would have gladly paid the extra money to get it done at the dealer with a factory part than at Carl's. Paying close to the same amount I would have paid at a dealership for a power steering pump replacement that ended up breaking in just 6 months has really left a sour taste in my mouth.
Maybe my experience was just unique to me, but I personally would not return to Carl's Car Care. I understand that things break, especially engine components of a car. I just don't expect them to break so soon and find out that I wasn't even saving that much money.

So I went to Carl's after making some changes to my truck's front suspension. The changes required an alignment. Called Carl's and they got me right in. They called about an hour later to say that a loose hub made an alignment impossible. So, I replaced the hub and took my truck back 2 days later. Called to check on my truck, and they said 30 minutes.
So I showed up, truck was out front so I went to get keys and pay. Inside the same tech said that the new hub was a bit wobbly and that I should replace it with a better one. He also said they got it as straigt as they could, but he wont charge me because it wasn't perfect. That is the makings of a quality shop folks. When I get the energy to swap out the hub bearing again, I'll be back for that pesky alignment.

Carl will take care of you and will not try to up-sell (aka rip you off) or overcharge you for labor, etc. I went to Midas for an oil change, I left with them telling me I needed $800 worth of stuff fixed immediately. Went to Carl's, he took a look at my car and only a fraction of what they said was wrong was actually wrong.
