Honest 1 Auto

Gary and his team of professional technicians are like a family, and they take service and honesty very seriously. This is not my first stop at Honest-1 Auto Care in Middlesex. My first stop was a few years back to fix an alignment issue that I had attempted to fix four other times with different service centers. It was then after Gary and team fixed it for good, AND provided an explanation of how it all works and why past alignments failed that I knew I had finally found an automotive service center that cares about their work, cares about the customer, and is 100% fair.

This recent service stop is testament to this. My sister's car was having inconsistent rough starts and inconsistent hesitation during acceleration. Gary and team ran diagnostics, researched, did everything they can to determine that the car was running ok BUT there could be a multitude of things that can create the inconsistent behavior. Instead of suggesting to replace a number of things; Gary and his team recommended to continue driving normal being the symptoms were not creating harm and wait out to see if ever the check engine light were to come on.

This would help him narrow down where the issue may be coming from and his team would be able to properly diagnose and resolve. His team spent a couple hours if not more diagnosing and they did this at no cost. I insisted on paying, but Gary wasn't having it. NOW, I've been around many, many places of business where products and services are sold and I don't know many professionals that are willing to take up their time and be ok with not receiving some compensation.

I've said this in other reviews. I wish all businesses study how Honest-1 Auto operates and learn from them because they will always, always have a customer in me for as long as I'm around regardless of distance or price. I have no problem paying someone when I know the job will be done right, with care and consideration. That's what I get every time I come to Gary's Honest-1 auto center.

The overall service was good, responsiveness, prompt service, professional, etc. I went there for an oil change and the free comprehensive vehicle check. They called and said i needed wiper blades. I said okay to the blades. But being charged $57.58 for two wiper blades to be removed and replaced is outrageous. My mistake for not asking the price beforehand.

Never in my life would I think a mechanic would charge $25.69 per blade and then labor as well. I would have gotten wiper blades myself if I knew the cost. This will make me hesitate from going here again.

Fair pricing as well as experienced mechanics make it an easy experience to do business here. I am a repeat/regular customer due to the overall great job that everyone at Honest-1 does from the office side to the repair side of things. If your thinking of trying a new place definitely make an appointment, you won't have any regrets and most likely will say to yourself why you didn't try them sooner!

Original battery died in my 2016 Escape. AAA could not replace due to the fact it was not easily accessible, Honest had it replaced within 3-4 hours the same day. Could not have been easier and quicker. Thank you! Service: Battery

I went in because my brakes were making a noise. They recommended an entire brake job, pads and rotors. I asked if they could just do a pad swap, but they showed me how rusted the rotors were and it's true, they were terrible! I am satisfied with the work and will be returning for any future repairs.

Staff were really open and transparent about everything. Mike provided excellent customer service. Mechanic took time to show and explain exactly what the issues were. They provided 2 estimates of work that needed to be done, one with immediate needs and a timeframe for the other. I did not feel pressured to get it all done at the same time, like dealerships have done in the past.

The mechanic (Nick, I believe) was very knowledgeable and was not condescending. He showed me the the car on the lift and all the parts that needed replacement. They completed the job in a timely manner. The waiting room was clean and updated. They were very professional and trustworthy. I highly recommend them.

After several bad experiences with other mechanics, Honest-1 was a wonderful experience. They are fairly priced, very responsive and helpful, and are trustworthy. Very good work on my jeep, and provided additional assistance when asked. Can't thank them enough.

I use this place whenever I can. They really stand up to their name. Always honest and fair with their work/ prices. I went to them because my running lights were making a noise on the dashboard and not turning on. and I had two other mechanics look at this issue due to some long distance traveling I had been doing. They were not able to fix it. then I went to honest 1 in middlesex where they quickly fixed it and I was able to pick up the car and go away on a long road trip. The issue was quickly and resolved this time. I trust this place with pricing and good work.

I have no idea what these people did to my car but it has never driven so well! I dropped it off for an oil change and to get a once over before I drive 1000 miles round trip to vacation. There's normally never anything wrong with my car so I just expected to get the oil change and be on my way. Well, I get a call from Gary (the owner) saying there's some unexpected bad news-suspension and tie rods are shot.

I could tell he did feel bad but I was so thankful they actually took the time to look and inspect my car for anything wrong. Every time I get my vehicle back from Honest-1 I don't have to bring it right back for a new issue like I did with previous mechanics. As much as it stunk to have to get those repairs done, I feel so much safer knowing my mechanic actually looked for issues rather than just doing the oil change and handing me back my keys.
