Great service and great communication. I really appreciate how everybody went above and beyond, and they discussed all prices with me before doing anything! When my car had an unexpected additional issue, they were able to help me with a loaner car so I could still get to work. I will absolutely be back to Hoover Street for future auto care!

My experience using this business has been great! I recently had our car break down in the middle of the night and had it towed to Hoover Street Auto Repair. They accommodated the unexpected service of my car and repaired it quickly! I am grateful for their flexibility, quality of service, and kindness that they showed me throughout the entire experience.

I had a great experience at Hoover Street Auto Repair. Everything was explained very clearly and there was a lot of transparency in the process. They were fast and communicative. My car is also running a lot better- I was not entirely sure what was wrong with the suspension but they found the problem and now I can feel a difference when driving.

Great people to work with! My daughter's car sat too long this winter, causing a cascade of issues that I had to deal with from another state. These guys were so helpful, great communication with pictures of damage, necessary repairs itemized and sent via link, discussion of repairs when necessary, and reasonable charges for the repairs. Easy for my daughter to walk from campus to retrieve her car when repairs were complete. So appreciated their help and glad to know that there is a great place for my daughter to take her car to for maintenance!

I've been taking our vehicles to Hoover Street Auto for several years now, and have been so impressed with their work that I go out of my way to continue to take our vehicles there even though I don't have to drive into Ann Arbor anymore for work. They are extremely thorough and do a quality job every time. Their mechanics are highly skilled, and they do charge higher for their labor than other shops out there, but it's important to value quality work over racing to the lowest price possible.

In order to maintain their skilled labor, they have to take care of their employees. They are a reputable small business, and have been invaluable for keeping our vehicles running.

Hoover St is great! Tom was super helpful and made sure I had a loaner car for when our repairs were being done. Even after I had to reschedule twice because of my own scheduling conflicts. He kept me up-to-date and was super great with my six-year-old. He didn't seem bothered at all, and put on a movie for him. My fave thing is that the car is doing much better.

They ran a full diagnostic on our first visit and put the diagnostic cost towards our service costs. The oil change was reasonably priced, everyone who works there seems very kind. We shopped around for our most recent service, control arm work, and while they can be pricier, they weren't with this repair because they're like the only shop locally that just replaces one part of the piece we had worked on instead of changing out the entire assembly.

It was all done inside of one day. Their loaner car is a testament to their good work. it had over 270k miles on it and it drove beautifully. Definitely recommended this place! They do good work, they're kind and they're not selling stuff you don't need.

The service at Hoover Street Auto is the best I've experienced at a shop thus far. They got me in very quickly, and were very communicative. They did a full assessment of my vehicle and advised which items were critical. They were upfront about all fees and services every step of the way. My vehicle really gave them a hard time, but they kept at it.

I really appreciate their thoroughness and integrity. On top of all that, the guys were easy to talk to. I had to get a lot of work done, and the price seemed fair to me given the parts, labor, and all the care they took to make sure my vehicle was safe to drive. I will definitely be back.

They did a great job replacing my water pump and serpentine belt. Got my Jeep back to me in a good amount of time. My only disappointment was the cost of the repair because I was told it could have been done for less money elsewhere. I would recommend Hoover Street Auto to others however.

This is the 3rd or 4th time I've had work done to my vehicle and each time was a great experience! Tom and Ed were amazing at taking care of a lot of extra work with my extended warranty company and I was able to get all the work done on my car. My last trip here I was in and out in a few hours. Had some issue with my tierod and the team at Hoover had the work done before the afternoon. Always grateful to have trusted mechanics and auto body shop that looks to serve and take great care of their customers.

I don't normally leave reviews, but I'm shocked Hoover has such high ratings. I have been here on several occasions, most of which have been unsatisfactory. Each time they will attempt to charge you for repairs that you don't need and have incredibly high labor costs for simple repairs. It was over $200+ for a diagnostic on my vehicle, the estimate for the repairs was over $2,000.

My father and I fixed the issues for less than $200 ourselves. I am a student, so I had to carve out some time to do these. They give out gift cards quite often for their services, but I would highly recommend that you decline all services/repairs they recommend that are not integral to the specific issue you came in to address. There is another repair shop in A2 called Broadway Auto (approx. 2 miles away) that has far superior services and rates.

This shop is still within walking distance of campus and you will not have to pay an egregiously high diagnostic fee. Plus, the owner is very friendly! Avoid Hoover St Auto, but if you must go there, do not be afraid to say no to the additional services they push on you!
