Dublin Car Tek owner Tim Johnson is a 30-year resident of the Bay Area. He has over 25 years of experience owning and operating automotive repair shops. Mr. Johnson considers Dublin Car Tek a family business, and his customers are part of that family. Many long-time clients and second generation customers continue to depend on Mr. Johnson and his staff for their automotive needs.
That's why we get you in and out in the minimum amount of time and have a very nice waiting room so you can take a moment to catch our breath and just relax. Got my Toyota corolla smogged today at this new to me place. Others in my area were charging way too much. This one charged about $50, with the coupon they gave me. They were fast, efficient, and friendly. The business was clean in the garage and waiting room/office. He also told me they could fix my car if I needed a new mechanic as I am new in town. Their prices are competitive. And yes, my car past the star smog.

***Update*** I replied to the owner's response below regarding the pricing via private message. So far I haven't received a response. To clarify, I called this location for a quote on the smog check. An employee on the phone give me a quote for $49.95. I didn't even mention a $20 coupon they have on their website. I just found it odd that an employee would tell me the price is $49.95 when the actual price is $69.95.

Incredible service from Ryan at Dublin Car Tek! He saved our day- we drove up with part of our car literally falling off. Ryan saw us outside and immediately said he could take a look. Luckily it was a quick solution, and he fixed it for us right there and was extremely knowledgeable about what had gone wrong and how to fix it. We were in and out in five minutes, and to top it off he said the fix was on the house! We live a few cities over but will come back for this stellar service. Highly recommend this place!

Ryan is awesome! When a mechanic tells you not to worry, you really don't need any service at this time, but I would be happy to put some air in your tires and top of fluids if you'd like, I say, "Wow!" Twice now, he has taken care of little things like this for me without charging. I plan on returning when he says it's time for an oil change. Thank you for restoring my faith that there are still good people out there, who just want to help.

I just moved to the area and needed a few things done with my car. Found this place on Yelp and stopped by- SO glad I did. After calling a few places for quotes, Car Tek gave me the least expensive quote and service exceeded my expectations. Ryan is amazing and even helped me with something in my car that I couldnt figure out (user error on my part lol).
I felt like the entire experience, from the quote, to ordering the part, and then picking my car up was extremely easy and the interactions with Ryan felt very genuine. Would highly recommend!

I liked that they were honest, forthright and detailed in explaining what needed to be repaired as well as the cost of repair. I was not thrilled with the actual cost estimate, it was pricey and outside the range I found for that type of repair. Deducting one star because the estimator was mildly condescending and somewhat flippant about current protocols. That's not to say I wouldn't go there again; they seem very knowledgeable and conscientious about the repairs they complete.

I had a very pleasant experience here. I work close to here and they were kind enough to accommodate without an appointment. Ryan is extremely helpful and kind and kept me in the loop throughout the day about what was being worked on. He was very transparent about the cost associated with all the work that I was getting done as well. I appreciate this level of honesty.

My car needed smog test and researched for best reviews with reasonable prices. I saw this place and they had great reviews. This is my first time at this place. Ryan was awesome in helping out the clarify gray area on coupons. He was still able to accommodate our car's needs. Because of his awesome customer service and knowledge, we had the smog test AND ADDED the oil change.
They did not disappoint - we even waited for our service. They give you estimates on how long it will take and they were on point! Very honest and clean, professional job! This is the place to go.

Easy, convenient, not pushy. Had to take my car in for a SMOG check, and I got an appointment the next day at a convenient time. The service was very quick. I was able to use a coupon that I found online to save money, too. I did mention that I usually take my car to the dealership (for consistency) and he did state that their service is the same for less money, but he did not push the issue. The environment is clean and the lobby where you can wait for your car is pleasant with magazines to read. Compared to other places I've been to for smog service, this was far more comfortable. I would not hesitate to bring my car back and I would recommend this to others.
