The staff at Rising Sun is exactly what you need when you take your car to a mechanic. They are timely, respectful, honest and when you ask them questions about their work. They have always provided sound reasoning and explanations for the work to be done. They are priced appropriately for their work and expectations of their work. I've taken both my vehicles here for a few years now and would completely recommend them for your needs.

I have nothing but the highest praise for Rising Sun! (I used to go to them years ago but thought at the time they were getting expensive and went elsewhere). Jeff was very accommodating about getting my car in to have it looked at for a second opinion since I had obtained one elsewhere. The work came in under budget despite a couple more items being found.

I guess they are my new repair shop (since the place I was going to is now under new ownership and I know nothing about new management). This is about trust. I always felt that Rising Sun was the gold standard which is why I took my car there for second opinion.

I'm happy to give this auto shop 5 stars. Good customer service is hard to come by these days, and Rising Sun Motors exceeded my expectations. From the great customer service of Nick over the phone, to Mike helping me with parking, and Denise being extremely helpful inside, my experience was great. It was also a pleasant surprise that they had a free phone charging station.

The wait wasn't too long, and I'm glad the issue with my car has been fixed. Thank you for being exceptional. It truly is refreshing to get decent customer service. It's greatly appreciated.

Fantastic experience - I'll be back for any future car needs. I had a flat at work in DC and filled out the online form as I figured out what to do next. Jeff e-mailed back promptly, and we worked out a plan. Once I was able to get home, I left him the tire, and he took it from there. Easiest time I've ever had with car repair. Never had a place be more communicative. Highly recommend them!

Great service! Took my car in in the morning for a state inspection. Failed on one item, but brought it back in the afternoon after fixing the issue and they reinspected the car with no additional charge. The employees (Jeff and Nick) were incredibly friendly, professional, and timely in their communication and service. Would absolutely bring my car back in the future for any service needs!

Friendly and easy to setup a time to drop off our vehicle for an inspection. We had a small item fail but 30 minutes after I gave them the go ahead to replace it, the car was reinspected and ready to go. Definitely bringing our other car here and would recommend people give them a shout if they are needing service.

I really appreciated the professionalism of the mechanics and the owner of Rising Sun Motors. Prior to my coming to Rising Sun Motors, my 12 year old car had stopped running three times. While driving by Rising Sun Motors numerous times I thought to myself one day, I will give them an opportunity to repair my car. Included in my repair bill was the price I would have had to pay to the towing company to take my car to the Rising Sun Motors repair shop. Taking my car to my regular repair shop was not an option.

I did not want to pay a lot for repairs and I did not want to feel like a faceless number. Hopefully in the future I will not need the services of Rising Sun Motors. But, it is very comforting in knowing they are more than capable to handle any car issues my vintage car may have.

They estimated $1045 for 4 brake replacement and oil change. I priced the parts from an auto parts store at about $300. Taking out $50 for oil change makes labor almost $700. They told me it takes 6 hours to replace brakes. I've done it myself in 2 hours on another car, a shop shouldn't take anywhere near 6 hours. The final bill came to $970. Look for an honest shop. Rising Sun Motors is a typical prey on the unknowledgeable place.

We've been using Rising Sun for the last 5 years or so. They have helped us out with everything from routine maintenance to weird electrical bugs to installing a catalytic converter shield. Jeff and the whole team are always super friendly and helpful. They communicate clearly what they find, what it will costs, and what needs to be done now versus what can wait. They never try to sell me extra BS, which is the biggest reason I'll continue to use and recommend them. I can't recommend Rising Sun enough.

Brought our car in the day before they closed for Christmas and they moved to get our (pretty major) work done before they closed. Gave us a good deal as well. Tech/front desk seemed to genuinely care about our issues and getting them fixed in a timely manner. Will be coming back here for sure.

People at Rising Sun Motors are always courteous, job done in time and very professionally. They keep you informed about repair or parts needed and estimate cost. They do not try to drag into expenses as they openly and honestly explained to you what to expect or what is necessary to fix your vehicle! That is exactly what all customers like to be treated. Quoted me $120 to patch a tire. Quote included a charge for "repairing tire light" which did not exist. After telling them that the light didn't exist so I wouldn't pay for it to be fixed, they knocked the charge from the bill. Pretty dishonest in my opinion to even have it on there in the first place. They "repaired" a family member's car with aftermarket parts that ended up costing $9,000 worth of damage to the transmission. My family has used them for many years but after these recent experiences I no longer trust them and could not recommend their services to anyone in good conscience.

I was working for a service company in 1982 who serviced their still exotic Japanese made Toyota Trucks at Rising Sun Motors. I've always been impressed with their ability to correctly diagnose and repair any vehicle brought to them, even an occasional American-made vehicle. Service: Engine repair

New to MD and had a safety inspection done on my Acura at Rising Sun Motors. Nick, Jeff and other staff were super friendly and very professional. Service was fast as well. Had to get the tint removed from my back window, the process to have my car reinspected was fast with no issues. Would def. recommend this shop for vehicle inspections.

I had a great experience with this shop in my first interaction. Their communication was timely and excellent and the whole process was painless. They did a complete systems review and made recommendations for my acceptance. Time will tell on the quality of the repair, but all seems good. The cost also seemed to be at market value.

We have had consistently good experience working with Rising Sun for maintenance for our car over the past few years. They have given reasonable estimates for when work has needed to be done. We have never felt that we were overcharged or asked to do unnecessary work. Most recently, they took every effort to ensure the work on our car was done quickly, which enabled us to travel when we had planned to (and with a much quieter, smoother running car!). We strongly recommend their services.

I've been going to this shop for a while now and I can genuinely recommend them. They are not going to be the cheapest option out there, but you can be sure the repair was done right. I've never been upsold at Rising Sun and they are very clear about what repairs are and are not necessary. They also have great communication and keep you updated on the status of your vehicle.

I went to this place with a check engine light on and noise coming out of my engine bay. I asked for an appointment online and waited for about a week without an answer until I received a text message asking me to bring the car the next day to the shop. After they gave it a look, they called back to tell me that a sensor wiring next to the radiator was broken and it would cost $350, including diagnostics and fees.

As for the noise, they were not sure and wanted to keep the car overnight. The next day, they called back and offered a list of "possible" fixes that summed to about $2500. As a side note, my car has a trade-in value of about $4000. I declined the extra services and picked my car up a few hours later. The very same evening, immediately after leaving the shop, I went directly to my workplace.

A few hours later, I am going to the garage to leave to see a pretty big puddle of reddish fluid coming out of my car! I open the hood to see the coolant reservoir being almost empty! The next morning, I called them to report the issue and they responded that it is "probably not related to the work done" and "you can drop off the vehicle but we might not be able to look at it until Wednesday" (it was Friday afternoon!). Honestly, I know this might just be bad luck, but I don't appreciate the fact that they refused to give a quick 10-minute check to the work that they did the other day promptly.

A true professional can't expect that a customer who paid a premium will be happy to drop off their car for a week, especially when other competing places are offering appointments early morning that Monday. For me, that place is a no. I don't see a reason to pay the dealership-level prices when you don't get a premium treatment. I would rather go to my car dealer for that cost. Pros: - They offer free rides. - Their online system for quotes is nice. Cons: - Their online system for appointment booking is horrible. - Prices are as high as it gets.

Expect to pay dealership-level prices. - The service is not comparable to your dealership. - If anything is wrong with the work done, then good luck. Expect to be carless for a week.
