G&C Tire And Auto Service

Took my car in because I knew the brake pads and possibly rotors needed to be replaced. Got the quote back -- replacing the front axle's brake pads and rotors was quoted at ~$850. I could not understand why it was so ridiculously overpriced, so I asked for a breakdown of costs. When it got back to me, the labor cost seemed acceptable but the real kicker was how much they were charging for the parts.

I understand a reasonable markup on cost of parts is expected, but when I'm asked to pay 3x or more for the cost of parts, that is just unheard of. When I called to get a reason for the huge markup, all I got was a "this is how businesses are run" excuse. I declined that service because there is no way I am paying that much for something as simple as brake pad & rotor replacement.

I did have them do a break fluid exchange and cleaning/adjustment of the rear brakes, which all went fine with no issues. For the cherry on top, when I received my final bill I found there was a ~15% charge of hidden fees that were not shared in the previous quote. What are these fees and why am I secretly being billed for them at the end? This part wouldn't have been so frustrating if it had been shared upfront with me.

I shouldn't be blindsided with hidden fees when I come to pick my car up. This shop seems to do a good job of completing repairs and doing everything well, but you are going to pay the price for it. Between outrageous markups and hidden fees, I won't be looking to come back and would advice others to be careful when coming here.

I went to G&C Tire and Auto yesterday for the Etch and Prevent Catalytic Converter Theft event. G&C did the work for free, including the staff who volunteered to come in on their day off. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back for auto repairs the next time it's needed.

Visited G&C Tire &Auto Service for the free Catalytic Converter Etching. Jack, Dave, and Kate were fantastic; customer service is above and beyond and I will be coming back for sure! Nice to find a high quality, family owned business that genuinely cares about their customers and their community.

G&C has worked on multiple cars of mine throughout the years. Always fast, honest, and reliable. Great customer service and communication. Love the digital quotes, digital invoices, and the "ATM" key retrieval for after hours pickups. Great people and great service!

Everything about this shop will impress you! From the maintenance performed to their image and professional brand. Their attention to detail will amaze you! I'm an active duty Marine. Of my 30 years in the Marine Corps, I've traveled the world through and through. I was required to relocate, A LOT over the years, therefore have used repair shops from coast to coast.

I have never just blindly used any old repair shop around my duty stations for vehicle maintenance as I would always conduct solid research, get referrals etc., looking for that top notch shop available. Hands down, G&C Tire and Auto Service is a cut above any repair shop I've ever used. Their repair service, personability, customer service, communication, up-front honesty and work ethic. by not just one or a few but the whole team of G&C employees is an experiance like none other. They're truly in a league of their own! To Gregg Caldwell, the owner, my hats off to you for running an exceptional organization!

I took part in the complimentary - Etch & Prevent Catalytic Converter Theft Event that was hosted by G&C Tire and Auto Service (14008 Willard Road, Chantilly) on 04/09/2022. They did a great job explaining to us the process of the work to be completed (etching the catalyic converter, spray painting parts of it in bright red paint, and the registration of our converters in an international database).

But what was shocking was when they told us how quickly the thieves can steal catalyic converters. like under 2 minutes! The work to etch the converters on my car (I have 2) took less than 20 minutes. They also spray painted the more easily stolen converter with bright red paint to alert the thieves not to steal if they they miss the stickers on my driver's door. It is nice when a local company gives back to the community like this. It's greatly appreciated. Great people working there!

I love this place. They are honest and up front about what repairs you need now versus what can wait. They go above and beyond to educate you about your car and any car you may be purchasing.

I've been looking for a honest and reasonable mechanic in Chantilly area for several months as my car just hit 100k miles. I was referred to G&C Auto Service by others and finally decided to give them a try. I was genuinely surprised by how organized their operations were. I've never seen an auto shop that utilizes technology well like G&C. Check-in was a breeze and you get a detailed report of your vehicle's condition and get an estimate for each repair item.

You get their detailed recommendation and you get to pick and choose what repair is necessary. My bill at the end came out less than the their original estimate and almost 2x less than what the dealership quoted me. They stayed in touch with me while my car was there over the weekend and pick-up process was very easy. They also kept my car clean. I will be returning to G&C whenever I need my car serviced.

The crew at G&C have taken great care of a bunch of our cars going back many years now. Small or big things, they do everything cheerfully, professionally, and always honestly. Not all shops maintain quality and consistency for so long with very little turnover in the team over the years. That says the owners and management care about the long term and respect the relationships they build. I can't recommend them highly enough. For general car care needs, I haven't found a better place in NoVA.

I got lucky and stopped here today because my tire air pressure has been low and I've been stressing about it. They took good care of me and didn't charge me for the service! I drive by every day to drop my dog off at day care and their sign mentioned tire pressure so I thought, I'll stop and see what happens. This place is legit. It's the cleanest most welcoming auto shop I've ever been in. Customer service 10/10. Steven helped me. I even got a xmas present!
