Able Auto Service

I worked there for only a whopping 2 days, I was shortly " relieved" from my position. I'm not sure how the original owner ran this business, but I can assure you the current owner isn't anywhere near great. Went in for an application and informed them I wouldn't be able to come in for An interview the day they asked, so I gave them the dates I would be free.

They mixed the dates up (which is fine) and rescheduled and moved forward. First day of work I had an issue with my elderly dog, had to be rushed to the vet, I was ridiculed for it. Explaining how they needed someone they can rely on, that's fine. I worked it out with him, and went in later on so I didn't miss the entirety of my shift. 2 days later I had to call in due to my Aunt passing, I was fired because he needs people he can "count on" I figured it wasn't worth the fight, so I found a different company that treats their employees better.

I was making $2.00 more than what others were making, they clearly were there longer and had more experience. Great people worked there I must admit, employees were incredibly nice and had stories they could go on and on about. I don't recommend working here.

I didn't have work done here but I will if I ever do need car repair and this is why. I had a lugnut that had been put on too tight. We couldn't get it off no matter how hard we tried. So I went around the area looking for someone to help. I went into Firestone and the guy was so obviously irritated by my question "can someone loosen a lugnut for me?

I'll pay!" He said "No, we don't have time today" and so I left on my journey. I went to two other places that basically had the same response. Then I spotted Able Automotive, I walked and and asked for help and was pleasantly surprised at the mechanics willingness to help us. He was so nice and it only took him 45 seconds to loosen it up! And at no charge. If we ever need a car repair we already know where we will go! We will be back Able Automotive!

This place is great! I waited to long to get my oil changed and had to do it right away. My regular mechanic was too busy to get me in that day. I remembered that my grandpa goes to Able so I called. The guy that answered was really nice and not only did he get me in the same day, he had it done in about an hour. I would definitely go back.

Critical: Punctuality, Quality, Value Instructions were to fix AC and address dash diagnostic lights. Eight weeks and $3200 later we don't feel we got quality service. Fixed a 1986 van that needed exhaust manifolds that nobody wanted tofix love robs honesty and the price was awesome Service: Engine repair

Called up on short notice and Rob was able to squeeze me in. Great service gentlemen groovy doovy

We take our car here for oil changes but since our first time the price has gone up by $20. We probably won't be going back for an oil change but definitely appreciate Robs effort. If my car has any serious issues, Ables is my go to.

Great group of guys got me right in no appointment knocked out what I needed extremely fair price.

Able have always been honest and reasonable. I first went to them because I had a power steering fluid leak. Other shops wanted to replace the entire steering rack at a cost of around $1500. The guys at Able identified the leak in the power steering cooler unit and replaced it for a tenth of the cost. This solved the problem. Services: Engine repair, Brakes, Wheel alignment, Air conditioning, Tyre rotations, Battery

Took car in to have driver side mirror replaced. They did a great job and it was in and out in less than two hours. I thought price was reasonable and great. I checked at a collision place and they wanted to keep car 2 days or more. for a MIRROR! Not cool. no damage or dents or anything just mirror. Thanks Able Auto for a great job.

Very honest and competent work - a combination you don't find often with car mechanics!. My car overheaded due to electric fan going out. They diagnosed it correctly, put in a top quality replacement, I was glad to pay the price (bit higher than some shops) knowing it done right with excellent parts and guarantee.

They take care of all my vehicles and all my family's vehicles. We have been going to Able for decades and they have always worked with integrity! They are direct and to the point, and will never perform or charge for a service you do not need! Would highly recommend!

I've been bringing my vehicles to Rob and his crew for over a decade now, whenever my vehicle repair needs go beyond my DIY scope of skills. I feel like Able is one of the last of a dying breed of straightforward and honest auto repair shops that aren't going to lie to you and/or try to up-sell you on stuff you don't really need. In fact, a couple times I've brought my car in for work convinced that it needed something expensive when it was actually an easy fix.

I doubt they are the cheapest but also aren't super expensive, and I've found you tend to get what you pay for in auto repair. To me their rates are more than fair considering they get things done right the first time and don't screw you around. I recommend Able to literally everyone I know that is in need of an honest auto repair shop in KC.

Able Automotive replaced my windshield for almost exactly what the "Auto Glass Guy" had bid, and did it without additional charges for trim and taxes. They did an above excellent job. They even repaired some rust before installing the new windshield. I had agreed to the previous bid when the shop owner tried to raise the price and when I told him that I thought trim and taxes should have been included in the bid, he launched into a tirade about how he was not going to be a doormat for anyone, and said if I was going to be abusive, we should "end it." I calmly cancelled the deal and came to Able Automotive where everyone who was there as a customer was treated with both patience and respect. Thanks, Able!

Rob, Dan and their crew are absolutely the best! True mechanics that are always honest and upfront - ladies you can trust these gentlemen to repair your car and treat you right. I've been customer for over 25 years and recommend Able to everyone.

Rob, Dan, and Tim are AWESOME. Class act gentlemen who always do quality work, fair prices (fair to me means profitable for them, and cost is inline with my expectations) and excellent service. I never leave dissatisfied. This is the ONLY place I bring work that I don't do myself. Thanks Rob!

Frauds, replaced my radiator for $300 bucks when the problem was actually the $80 heater hose. (Very common with this make & model) Customer service was a joke. When I contacted them about the problem they refused to respond until I was forced to file a BBB complaint to which the owner blamed me for not keeping my car up! 2 ttows and 2 missed days of work post their "repair", I go to another shop who accurately diagnosed and fixes my problem.

I have driven over there for years and recommended friends to Able Auto too. They give you the price up front, don't do unnecessary work. I had to go back on a complicated repair just once and they stood completely behind the work and the quote and there was zero charge.

I've had a lot of work done on my cars over the years by the friendly guys at Able, most recently on my son's Chevy (it's a bit of an old beater). They're always straight with me and are very good at letting me know what repairs are going to cost before any work is done, hooray for no surprises. I feel their prices are fair and I've never had any problems with their work or had to have work redone. On a somewhat unrelated note, that old commercial of theirs cracks me up every time I see it. "Somebody knows me." :)
