Circle D Auto Transmission

Didn't get the chance to do any business with Circle D because happily it turned out not to be a transmission issue after all. But, I spoke with a couple staff over the phone about lining up a rebuilt tranny and pricing estimates before I new it wasn't needed. They were friendly and responsive and were able to line up exactly what I thought was needed and provided a clear price estimate. If I ever do need transmission work it'll be taken here for sure.

Slightly lengthy, please read all. If you've landed on this review, you probably have a 6L80. I've known my Trans was roasted from a time on a Dyno. I spent a lot of time researching where to go. Landed on Circle-D - it was quite a little trip to get the car down there and dropped off. The staff are friendly and Glenn will set you straight on what needs to happen.

In my case, I had a later model 6L80, and he told me it will likely need a handful of updated GM parts but won't know until he gets in there. The trans cooler I had on the car, I'm not so sure Glenn didn't laugh at it. It wasn't to his parameters of how he wants that trans to operate. I went with a Stage 3 \ 6L80 build. I don't have a bunch of time driving the car yet, from the short trip I took before Leaving the shop it's completely different. The paddles shift fast, no flare between shifts. Thanks, Circle-D.

Great place to have a transmission serviced. I've been a clients for several years now. Knowledgeable staff. Glenn at the front desk is most helpful! Not a cheap place for a quick repair, but you know it's repaired correctly! They stand behind all of their work performed!

Glen and his team were amazing to work with. From start to finish Glen was extremely patient, helpful, honest and wise in advising my build. I was very patient with the build turn around time and they were patient in return. I appreciated every second glen spent updating me on the build and advising added parts. In the day and age of it being very hard to trust a lot of businesses, Circle D Transmission exceeds expectation and customer service like very few others do. They made the entire experience of getting a brand new transmission extremely easy. Constant communication through the entire process and very transparent about what was being done to the vehicle and why. First, let me begin with the fact that there aren't enough stars to reflect the quality of kind and professional service that is offered by Glenn and his staff! After using Glenn's services for several years and then moving to Conroe, a transmission repair became necessary on our 2017 Ford F-150. We took our truck to a Conroe transmission service and received less than positive results. Knowing Glenn and his stellar reputation, we went the additional distance back to Houston for Glenn's services.

With Sherry's kindness and guidance from the office, Glenn gave us an estimated diagnosis of the transmission problems we were facing. Glenn gave us an estimated cost and realistic time frame for the repairs to be completed. Quality repairs were made with proper brand name parts. Total cost was less than quoted and necessary repairs were fewer than originally anticipated. Our truck drives now just like it did when brand new! Thank you, Circle D Transmission.

Circle D is awesome! Glen always provides details as well as recommendations. With the age of my car, and the miles, we were expecting a transmission replacement. Recently Circle D Transmission did an amazing job replacing my 2015 Tahoe's transmission when I was on a business trip in Houston. They were very courteous, professional, efficient, and stayed in constant contact with me. I have been using Circle D Transmissions for the past 33 years. They have rebuilt/replaced 5 transmissions in my personal vehicles and several in company vehicles. Smart, fast, professional. I went to the GMC dealership first and after 2 days they said it was my transmission and could rebuild it for $8000. I called Circle D Transmission and explained my problem and they questioned if it was really the transmission off the bat, but gave a much lower quote if it was. I went there and it turns out it wasn't the transmission it was the transfer case!

I wish the dealership that could have figured that out! But Circle D did, and was able to replace it the same day! They also updated the software on my transmission and showed me the codes that my truck was throwing that the dealership never even bothered to read! If I have any transmission, transfer case, or drive shaft issues I'll definitely be back.

Best transmission shop in Houston. They could have ripped me off very easily. Instead they were HONEST and told me the truth. That speaks volumes to how great this shop is. Very happy with the whole experience. Will be recommending to everyone and will go back for any and all transmission maintenance or problems. Straightforward polite staff all around. 10/10.

Had a big screwup on my end, but I shot them a message on Yelp and Sherry got back to me immediately. After that, we scheduled something and I had my car towed there and everything was taken care of for a reasonable price.

These guys are great. They picked my truck up at 9 a.m. Wednesday morning, they repaired it. And I had it ready to pick up by 9 a.m. Thursday morning. Great communication. Will definitely tell others about the quick service.

Had a hp transmission built by them, clutches burnt up in transmission so I brought it back of course it not under warranty. Which is fine I was going to pay them to get it rebuilt again but Glen said if they rebuild it then he will not warranty if anything happens (which seem sketchy right there, and they claim to be the best) Long story short I put my truck back on the tow truck and got my Transmisison built else where. Glen is a clown!

Only to find out the clutches that were installed were stock clutches. Paying for top notch high performance parts and get stock parts. Nickel and dime you even if you spend thousands of dollars with them. Crooks! I knew they put out good work and didn't mine paying the high cost compared to other shops! Boy I was wrong! Never again! CROOKS CROOKS CROOKS!

Just called regarding the muncie 4 speed in my classic car and while they don't service them, they took the time to explain their experience and give me great advice. Would take either of my late models here in a heartbeat. Thanks for the time and input Glen!

Been using them for 35 years no one touches my transmission but circle D. Honest and the best

Long.story short. 3rd transmission place later and 3rd transmission in 5,000 miles., oh yeah, . I found Circle D. This is it. Take your vehicle here. Period. Worth every penny. Car is new again. Not "like" new. literally better. This transmission, the extra care taken to insure all hoses and seals, no where else will do this. Came with a 100,000 mile warranty, or 3 years.

The list is endless of why you need to just bring your vehicle here. (They washed the vehicle for me, probably to remove the road grime from the 3 tows) I am the one that all bad things happen to, so know immediately, you come here. I finally, had the good happen. Highly knowledgeable, exceptionally communicative, fairly priced; these all describe the level of service I received at Circle D. They are genuine, honest people and kept me well informed of what they found or were planning to do throughout the process. They diagnosed and repaired a "no reverse" issue on my BMW 325i within 2 days, all for a very fair and reasonable price.

I genuinely trust their abilities and character, which is not something that comes easy nowadays. I would go back to them and would recommend anyone with transmission issues to go to them!

I've bought two of Circle D's torque converters for my modified street cars and let me tell you: they are amazingly crafted and work amazingly for YEARS. I've had one of them for 8 years now and it's just as fantastic as it was when new. Circle D makes great stuff and I'd trust them with just about any transmission need.

I have used Circle D Transmission for many years. Recommended to me by other mechanic shop. What a great find, Glenn and his crew have always been very customer service orientated, something you do not find much today. He has worked on several vehicle's of mine. And all are running like tops. They send out reminders when service is needed. Preventive maintance is always more economical than waiting too late. SO glad I found this place! I have an Acura TL and the dealer told me it needed a new transmission. Well, it was under warranty by a third party who refused to pay Acura's "exorbitant" labor rates and told me to take it "someplace cheaper". I didn't want to trust my beloved TL to just anyone, so I did my research and it brought me to Circle D Transmission. Wow!

This place is great! They were empathetic to my issues with the warranty people (plus, it was expiring in a WEEK) and were quick to get my car in and work on it, despite the delays from the warranty company. I got her back and she drives like new! Glenn and Patricia kept me updated every step of the way and never acted "put out" when I called to check on the progress.

A rebuilt transmission took about a week (3 days of that was the delay from the warranty company) and $3900. I would highly recommend Circle D, as many others have. GREAT place to get peace of mind and a good job done!
