Columbus Auto Body was founded in 1928 by Vincenzo DiLauro, an Italian immigrant who settled in the Columbus Avenue neighborhood of New Haven.Vincenzo combined his fine mechanic skills and the opportunities he saw with the booming automobile industry and started his very own auto-repair shop.

Even though Columbus Auto Body will handle your claim, there are still a few things you should know. Remember that the choice is yours - don't be forced to an approved body shop that you may not be comfortable with. Make sure to use a certified repair center so that your car is repaired to OEM (like new) condition.
The winter months can do a job on your car's exterior. The cold, rain, snow, ice and salt or other de-icing chemicals can all be hard on the outer surface. Washing your car and giving it a good wax job before the cold arrives can help protect the car's surface. When a scratch or a ding appears on your car, don't hesitate to have it repaired and repainted as soon as possible.

I used Columbus Auto Body Works for collision repair and they were so kind and professional! Columbus Auto Body Works has done excellent repair works to replace my driver's side door and fender, etc. Despite that Columbus Auto Body is not in the network of Progressive insurance, they had handled the repairs perfectly, in effective negotiation with my insurance. I am glad that I had chosen Columbus Auto Body to take care of my repair needs. I also would like to thank Jennifer and Dominic for their considerate service.

Columbus Auto Body Works has been a family owned and operated business for several decades. I had been a customer for many years and had always been very satisfied with the high quality of work I received. Therefore, whenever I needed some work done on my car, after moving back to New Haven a few years ago, I never considered any other auto body shop, because Columbus Auto Body Works had earned my respect and my trust.

Columbus Auto Body has helped with two care over the past 12 years! They are knowledgeable, professional and I always feel very fairly priced. They have helped me to get rental vehicles, worked with my insurance and got my vehicle back to me in a timely fashion. Their Tow Division also helped me during a terrible ice storm a few years back. I continue to work with Columbus Auto when the need arrives and I highly recommend them!

Honestly the worst the shop I have ever associated myself with. They told me my car would be done in 2 weeks, it's been almost a month now and they're finding new things wrong with it. They lied straight to our faces and I am overall very displeased with the communication skills and the way I was treated here. Update: now the car has to be brought to another shop because they have lost my trust and respect. Don't bring your car to Columbus auto body unless you want a hassle. BEWARE. The staff here do not respect cars period.

Columbus Auto Body made the experience of dealing with insurance adjusters and claims simple and quick. Everyone was helpful, kind, and the work on my car was completed on time. They coordinated a rental car for me, communicated clearly, and dealt with the out-of-state insurance company so my involvement was minimal. Our car was returned to us washed, vacuumed, and cleaned including the tires and wheels.
I wouldn't go anywhere else. Update: What really makes me rave about their incredible service is Keith going out of his way to fight a rental car company on my behalf. They picked up the car three days late and want to charge for me some damage that occurred after I returned the vehicle. Keith looked over the car when I returned it and found no damage so he was more than willing to call the insurance company himself and take my side. Throughout the experience, Columbus Auto Body has shown they take customer service seriously and I won't be going anywhere else.

Unfortunately I've been to Columbus Auto body several times with different vehicles and family members. After an accident it's really nice to have someone to turn to who is trust worthy and friendly. They're great at everything from major accidents to small bumper scrapes and car detailing. They also handle the insurance company when needed which is really great.
The staff at Columbus is friendly and always accommodating. They're family owned and operated and that is evident when you go there. After every visit they give you a nice coffee mug to remember your experience as well as a little bottle of touch up paint for your car which can really come in handy! If you find yourself in an accident, I recommend Columbus.
