Toyota The Service Outlet

Caution - I have been a customer for 20+ years and left two vehicles with them to service One of the vehicles was stolen from behind their property - and they stuck me with the bill - which also contained services which I did not approve. Fortunately the vehicle was recovered and my insurance is covering the damages but Service Outlet is refusing to pay the deductible.

The other vehicle was broken into and items were taken from the trunk - my homeowners will cover those item minus another deductible. I will be filing a complaint with the bureau of Automotive Repair and also talking to an attorney.

I lived in San Ramon for 25 years and moved across the Bay a few years ago but have not found an auto repair shop I trust. I had never taken my cars to the Lafayette location, but the Service Outlet in San Ramon took care of many of my cars over the years before it closed during the pandemic. I figured it would be worth the trip to Lafayette for the major service my CRV needed.

I work in downtown Oakland so I figured I could take BART back, but they told me they would drive me to Oakland and pick me up. Well that worked out awesome and the driver was friendly and efficient. When Art called and suggested that I should get additional work done if I was planning on keeping the car a long time, which I am, I was hesitant at first.

He explained to me in great detail and with great patience the additional work that they recommended and gave me the pros and cons of waiting for later to do the work or just having it done at that time. I felt confident that the work would be done correctly as the Service Outlet had always done amazing work and kept my cars running smoothly for a long time, so I felt good getting it all done at that time, and I am glad I did as my kids will be using the car away at college and I feel great knowing that the car is in top repair.

The whole customer service experience was like Nordstrom level of service, and that is very unusual these days to find that in a car repair shop. I highly recommend the Service Outlet in Lafayette.

I am not one that normally writes reviews but this is one that deserves a review. Made an appointment for my wife's car to have the check engine light issue taken care of. Mike was very nice the couple of times I spoke with him on the phone. Dropped the car off the afternoon before and Art wrote us up. Very impressed with the Lafayette location.

The entire place was very clean and presentable. Art called the next morning and said the car was fixed and we could pick it up anytime. They checked out other concerns we had and the bill was way more than fair. We were very happy as this was our first time using their services. We will be back as my wife and I were both very impressed and felt that our experience was excellent. Thank you Mike and Art for all you did in making our experience a great one.

The Service Outlet is the BEST! We have taken our vehicles there for many years and have always gotten courteous and professional service. We only buy car brands that they service!

This business is truly caring about their customers! Not only are they cheaper than the Lexus dealer with different services, they also help with small problems for free and quickly. When I take it there for service I always get a ride to my home form an employee. I will never go to the dealer again. Mark the technician is very very good and kind, a tru gem!

I wish to express my sincere gratitude to technician Mark for his work in keeping my car running smoothly for another seven years. My car was due for a timing belt replacement, due to age. Mark is a highly skilled technician and did an expert job of installing the new part and verifying that everything was working as it should. A well-functioning timing belt is crucial to the life of an engine.

While not every repair shop does timing belt replacement, The Service Outlet does. Many people believe this work must be done at the dealership, which is no longer the case. Therefore, I highly recommend The Service Outlet. They're thorough in checking all aspects of their customer's auto care needs and discussing recommended repairs. Having first become their customer in 2009, I trust them completely with caring for my car.

Very happy with the customer service at The Service Outlet! I went to get my oil changed, per my dad's recommendation I tried out this place & Mark, Art, & Steve did not disappoint. They have good prices, seem genuine, & great location if you plan on waiting around. they even offered a shuttle.

There are many choices in this area for auto service. Ignore them all. Service Outlet is honest professional and friendly. I go out of my way to this location from Dublin for these reason and more. My husband and I both have Lexus cars and use The Service Outlet whenever we need service. Today I needed to see why my engine light went on. I just stopped by and Mark was kind enough to check it out. My gas cap was loose! They are the best! Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Update: They refunded the full amount, so I updated my review from 1 star to 3. Original review: Me and my wife brought the car for oil change and rotating the tires. They told me that they did rotate the tires and changed the oil and I paid $122.39. Later, I found they did not rotate the tires, although they did charge us for it, and told us repeatetly that they did do it, and wrote that on the receipt.

I had to go there a second time the next day and I asked for a full refund since 1) they lied to me, 2) I wasted two days for a simple thing, 3) I wasn't sure if they did any work at all. The owner, Art Meaneafaiga at first refused to give me a refund. Later he only refunded $30, in cash, without any receipt. I still want a full refund because I am not sure if they did any work at all on my car.

Great Service for my Toyota van. I brought it for needed maintenance and they did a great job on this as well as some suspension and steering issues. The steering issues were stubborn to diagnose and resolve but Service Outlet finally was able to get it fixed and they worked with me on getting it completed to my satisfaction. Art was very helpful and gave me an honest evaluation of my Honda. They checked my brakes and found them in great working order and topped off the break fluid as a free service. It was refreshing to have a service company be so honest. Definitely a 5 star. Thank you, Mary Cochran

Love this place more and more every visit! The hatch struts on my Toyota Prius needed to be fixed. I emailed them to get a quote and they scheduled me for an appointment within a week. Art was very helpful on email, answering my million of questions. I came in at 8 a.m. and two of their workers knocked out my issue and replaced the parts within a half hour.

With my super hectic week with work and prepping for camping, I very much appreciated it! They even surprised me with a discount which I very grateful for! Everyone here is incredibly friendly and helpful. I highly recommend them and will be back

I don't want to sound like a broken record (for you readers younger than 50, ask someone over 70!) but the Service Outlet hit it out of the park again. My 161,000+ mile Acura had another problem (radio/cassette player/cd) unrelated to my previous visit 3 weeks ago. Mike, Mark and Art tried everything that the book and the manufacturer suggested, unfortunately to no avail.

Even though I think I'll have to replace the system with a newer generation, the biggest thing that continues to come across is that these people and this company CARE about the customer! Such service and concern is largely absent from most businesses today. Despite failing to solve my current problem I'd do business with them any day!

My car broke down and I had it towed to the Service Outlet because I knew they could get the job done at an affordable price while still maintaining high quality. i worked with Efron and he was very kind and patient with the several questions I had. i never felt any pressure and they were quick to repair my car. This was once a very good quality maintenance and repair shop that took good care of your vehicle. However, lately, I have noticed a decline in overall customer service and car care to the point where I can no longer trust them with my car.

Terrific repair shop. Their rates are far lower than the dealership and their turn-around time is excellent. They are definitely our go-to local mechanic for our Toyota and Lexus vehicles.
