Electric power steering went out on my F150. Everywhere I took it said it was a dealer only repair, and I avoid the dealerships as much as possible. I called Armstead and they said to bring it in. Not only did they fix it, but they didn't even have it a week before it was fixed. Dealer couldn't even get it in to look at it for a month. They even looked over my truck and recommended other things that needed to be fixed.

They do amazing work and have great customer service at a fair price. Definitely your best alternative to a dealership in the area. I'll be using them for all my future auto repairs that I can't do myself, and taking our company vehicles there as well.

I never even made it to Armstead Automotive because of the high quote I was given. I needed a new timing belt installed on my 2014 Chevy Cruze. I always get their cards in the mail, so I thought I would call them for a quote. I had called 6 shops before them and the quotes ranged from $650 -$752. Armstead quoted me $998! I can see a 20 or 30 dollar difference, but not $300. From now on I will be throwing their cards away.

Prompt in diagnosing the problem, got the work done when promised, checked over the vehicle and gave list of items to keep an eye on. They were very courteous on the phone and in person. Services: Oil change, Auto engine diagnostic

I made an appointment for an oil change and wanted my tires rotated which I was of course willing to pay for. They constantly send coupons to my home. The one I gave them was for a discounted oil change and a multi point inspection. They did the oil change, totally skipped the multi point inspection with no comments about it, told me my tires were in too bad of shape to rotate & already had four new tires written up for me in case I wanted to spend an extra several hundred dollars. Really? I'm using a coupon to save a few bucks on an oil change. Plus, my tires are fine. Not new but certainly not in need of being completely replaced.

This towing service was sent to me after contacting my insurance company for roadside assistance. The second the driver arrived (Armstead Automotive Repair & Service) he indicated he couldn't get the car out because he would have to drag it around and indicated I would need a tow truck with a dolly. After he left I had to contact my roadside assistance again and the sent another tow truck.

A short time later a tow truck from TAYLOR FAMILY CAR CARE arrived. After the new driver arrived he had my car loaded on the flatbed in a matter of minutes with no problems at all. The first driver from Armstead, simply didn't want to work!

I had a defrost problem, they let me know what needed to be done. We made an appointment. They did the work in the time frame they gave me and within the estimate. They also helped with a recall problem, I was able to get fixed through Gm. Good experience! Thank you! I'll return.

Our motorhome had a blowout on the expressway late on a Saturday. We had it towed to their parking lot. We showed up first thing Monday morning to explain the situation. They could not have been more accommodating. Turns out there was too much damage and the insurance company decided to totaled our motorhome. It sat in their driveway for almost 2 weeks during this process before it was finally towed away. It had to be inconvenient for them but they never complained once. I would recommend this company to anyone.

Went to have the trans fluid check in my standard shift vehicle they looked at it for a 1/2 hour and told me all the fluids were good the transmission is good no charge. Thank you very much again.

I took my moms car in to have it inspected before she went out of town for a road trip. They went above and beyond checking everything to make sure she would be safe. Even checked the license plate light. They did find a few things that they recommend being done before she left and also gave us a heads up on a few things to watch that didnt need to be done right away but could in a the future. Jon was amazing and communicate very well with me during the whole repair process.

And I believe they where very far on there prices for parts and labor. Being a women sometimes you feel places can take advantage of you specially if you dont really know car's. I never felt this way dealing with them. I will definitely be back for any of my cars future needs. And would highly recommend to anyone!

I would definitely recommend going here. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and very up front. I went in for an oil change and a break job on my rear breaks. They told me my air filter needed to be replaced and I should get my front breaks taken care of as well and very easily spotted a broken flex pipe on my exhausted, which I knew about. If was given an estimate about the cost to fix everything but was not pressured into getting more done than what I came in to get done, especially since all the work was outside my initial budget.

While working on the rear breaks they found an issue that had to be fixed in order to finish the job and let me know right away. They accept Car Care Credit, so between that and money I had set aside, and discounts I qualified for, I was able to get everything done that absolutely needed to be done and was told how much life expectancy was left in what I did not get done. Jared, the one I worked with through the entire process, and the ENTIRE Armstead team are amazing, they even went the extra mile and were nice enough to drive me a couple miles to my home while they worked on my vehicle. I can not thank them enough for everything they did. I am pretty sure I have found my new mechanic location for all my future vehicle needs.

Made an appointment for an oil change an hour and a half later I'm still sitting here. The coupon says $19 now I'm informed it's $48 after many years of coming here I will not be back. Edit: Two hours later I'm out."We didn't have the type of oil you needed" it's a 2017 Ford van for Pete's sake not a Ferrari and I told them what kind vehicle it was when I made the appointment four days ago.

I've taken my vehicles to Armsteads for everything from oil changes to more extensive repairs. They have always been completely honest and the work was done right and in a timely manner. I trust them and recommend them to others.

It's pretty simple: these guys have delivered the best customer service I have ever received from any automotive establishment anywhere, in many decades of auto ownership. They've done a good job with my car, and a brilliant job of making me a satisfied customer. Have and will continue to wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone in the north Oakland area needing service of any kind.

This is where you need to take your car for a few reasons. First, they're honest. They'll tell you what needs to be fixed on your car and what's worn but can last I little longer. I respect that because I'm going to grad school and I'm on limited budget. Second, service. I've watched them do all the repairs on my car and they do a good job while staying within my budget. Lastly, the little things.

They hook up the air fresheners, drinks in the fridge, and keychains galore! Bottom line: My car is old and sucks, yet they keep it running on a limited budget. (Golf clap, clap, clap.)

Horrible service. Called them to tow my dune buggy. Asked if I could meet them at my mechanics shop the next morning at 9:00 AM. They said " no problem.". Next day they left me waiting for 45 minutes before I called them to find out what was going on. The guy that answered the phone was complete idiot and told me they forgot about me. No apology, and no phone call. Don't use this service.
