I have taken my cars to Dwight & Don's for years. I will take my car no where else. I would give you 10 stars if I could. I've been using them for years. They can repair anything, including diesel motors. Prices are reasonable and they have a quick turn a round. Don't take your car or truck to a dealership where you'll pay a lot more for inferior service. Best place in Mesquite, TX to get your vehicle serviced. They can fix anything and they will always shoot you straight about what needs to be done.

The reason why I am giving this store one star is because they tried to pull one over on me and I don't like auto care places that try to do such things. I like to have good trusting relationships w people who work on my car. I came in to get my brakes fixed and I asked them if I could buy my brakes in advance so that all they had to do was pretty much put them in the car and all I'd have to pay for is labor. so I bought the brakes to the store and they called me a couple of days later and told me that the brakes that I bought were for the front of my car and my rear brakes were messed up so I told him "OK I'll buy the right pair." They called me the next day telling me that they went ahead and installed their own brakes on my car and then they went ahead and charge me for that cost. Yeah never going again.

Dwight and Don's has some of the best privately owned service and customer service when compared to other shops that I've dealt with in the Dallas / Fort Worth area. My mother started using D&D's back when I was 12 yo, and now that I'm 34, I have continued that tradition and take my pickup and Mini Cooper there for service and repair every time. I highly suggest Dwight and Don's for anyone new to the Mesquite area to try!

Carl and the gentleman who worked on my car were great but there was another male who literally stared at me like I had the virus, didn't greet me. He literally caught eyes and I locked right with him and he eventually turned his head when I didn't change my stance. Don't know if I will spend my hard earned money here again but they did do my inspection quickly and accurately. Thanks to Carl and the young man who did my inspection for making me feel welcomed.

These guys are true professionals. They did great and speedy work at fair price. I am from out of town and was stressing about getting home and it being a holiday weekend. Talked to Carl and he was able to get me im and back on the road in nothing flat. Thank you to him and the professional mechanic that work to make it so. I would recommend this shop 100% without hesitation.

We started going here a number of years ago after the shop we had been using for years seemed to be having issues. I feel comfortable that they treat us fairly and are competent. I used to do more of my own repairs but have moved away from that and typically only do the simple maintenance myself now. That is not to say they cannot make a mistake. We had one time where the repair person forgot to close something (vague because I cannot recall the specifics but it caused the warning light to turn on without causing any damage).
They said it was their fault and did not charge us when we took the vehicle back. Repair costs seem reasonable based on my experience with other shops and will likely be substantially less than a dealer for repairs. Their waiting room is small and old and has been closed during the pandemic. As a smaller shop they can get busy and there can be some delay in getting the work done. Nevertheless, this is our go-to shop.

We are new here in Texas. We moved to Mesquite about two miles from Dwight and Don's. Our first week here when we were getting our Texas license plates, we couldn't get the plates off of my Honda. We are originally from Long Island NY and one of my plates was stuck on. We pulled into Dwight and Don's and they immediately pulled my plate off.
Free of charge. Since then we have been taking our two 2007 cars to them for everything. I normally do not post lengthy reviews about a place. However, these guys are outstanding. Just yesterday as we were on our way home from Royse City checking out our new home being built.my 07 Honda started going crazy, all my indicator lights flashed on. We were lucky to be able to get off of I30 and pull into a Hilton when my car just turned off.
I immediately called Dwight and Don's. NOT only did they send a tow truck to get my car to bring back to their shop within an hour, Don told me that the tow truck driver could bring one of us to his home to use one of his cars to get back home! My husband went with their driver to Don's house and took his truck to come pick me and my dog up at the Hotel I was waiting at!
Who does this? Never would this happen back home in NY! My husband came and got myself and Penelope (our jack russell) drove us home, we picked up his car and brought the truck back to Dwight and Don's! Are you kidding me! What a way to provide outstanding service! We are moving by the end of the year to our new home which is about a half hour from Dwight and Don's.
But we will continue to use them as our service provider on these cars and any future cars! We are so grateful for this excellent service and for their prompt repair process. My car is already fixed, it needed an alternator. I'm picking it up tomorrow! Their prices are very competitive and I trust them completely! And when I can find the time I need to make a nice big Italian tray of lasagna for these guys as a thank you gift!

Dwight and Don's Auto Care is THE best place in Mesquite and the surrounding cities to take your vehicles for diagnosis and repair. My family and I have been going to Dwight and Don's for many years and we would never consider take our vehicles anywhere else. We never have to worry about being misdiagnosed, or being sold services or parts that we don't need. Also, it doesn't take an unnecessarily long time to get your vehicle back, most times we drop it off in the evening and pick it up the next afternoon.
You can trust these guys, they have the knowledge and integrity to fix your vehicle right the first time and will always treat you honestly. We recommend them 110%. Their service is top-notch!

So I woke up one morning and my Honda truck was making a stuttering sound but wouldn't start. After replacing the battery, the check engine light came on along with VTM-4. Looking up the codes it could have been quite a few things, all expensive. Instead for $200 they were able to dx the issue as bad gasoline I'd gotten from Kroger in Irving. $200 seems cheap given that they could have charged me for EGR, O2 sensor etc etc etc. I'd definitely use them again.

NEVER go here for an oil change. I paid DOUBLE here than what I am used to paying at other reputable mechanics. On top of that, the old man at the front desk was very curt and rude. I would highly suggest going down the street to Carters or up the road to Triple A Muffler. I can certainly see why I was the only customer there on a Saturday morning. Buyer beware!

Honest advise on my mothers Mazda. She is older, and not always confident in her interpretation of mechanical matters, so I spoke to Jerry and he was kind, considerate and very honest about the state of her car and how to handle the breakdown of the vehicle. Auto repairs can be expensive (the cost of owning a car), so it is good to know that they ARE trying to help you, not take advantage of a situation like some mechanics will.

I used to get service done at a place that was a little less expensive and quickly found out why. You will get a full run down of the problem and no hassles from the staff here. They pride themselves on having a good reputation and live up to it. They even gave me a ride home when I dropped my car off! They offer free wi-fi if you have to wait on-site and we all know how that can make the time waiting more bearable.

Sweet people, speedy service. One of the downfalls of owning an older vehicle is the maintenance. I have a fabulous little SUV. but every once in awhile it has bouts of dementia and forgets how to work. I've been to D&Ds for air conditioning, oil changes, inspections, and most recently a major repair on my brakes and tie rods (PS -wtf is that?).
My favorite thing about D&Ds is that I don't have to feel like I'm getting duped. As the ignorant she-human that I am, I live in constant fear of being taking advantage of by the car literate. Jerry and Carl always seem to be the guys I see when I go, and they always tell me step-by-step what they plan on doing to my 4Runner before they even start- and almost to the point that I feel like I understand it!
The communication is great- they call me constantly to update and inform me of what they're finding/how much EACH thing costs. Second favorite thing is- though they're ALWAYS busy- they manage to get my repairs and such done in an extremely quick manner. Most recently, I brought my car in at 8am Friday (for the MAJOR repairs) and had it ready at 8am Saturday. I'm sure I pay a little more than some chopshop ghetto autocare experience, but customer service means in a lot in my book.
And I'm still paying mountains less than if I go to a dealership. Honest folks tucked away in downtown Mesquito. I'm not alone in my beliefs either- as I was in the waiting room a woman getting her keys from the front desk would NOT shut up about how much she loves Dwight and Don's, saying "Even if I move to Frisco I would still come here!". Lol.
