As an "essential service" A1 Auto is open for business. We are doing our part to keep our office and other areas sanitized, the best we can. In addition, we are practicing social distancing to ensure a safe number of customers at any given time. Also, we can arrange for you to drop your vehicle off, for services or repairs, then pay over the phone and pick up your vehicle at your convenience, without having to physically enter the building. In January of 2008 they opened their new facility, at 61 Lacombe Street, Unit 7, Marlboro, MA 01752.
Services
There are no components in today's newer vehicles that require being "tuned". We would like to convey the difference between a" "Major Scheduled Maintenance Service" and a "Tune-up". In a nutshell, a Major Service is a "Tune-up" plus a whole lot more. Virtually all automotive experts agree; scheduled maintenance, as recommended by the manufacturer is the key to a vehicle's dependable performance, reliability, maximum fuel efficiency, and longevity.Almost all tune-ups can be performed by only lifting the vehicle's hood, and without putting it on a lift.
Regardless of what form your "check engine" or "service engine soon" light takes on when illuminated on your dashboard, it is seldom something to ignore. This is just not one of those times to stick your head in the sand and ignore it, in the hopes it will just go away. Unfortunately, it will most likely not go away; and has the potential to cause great damage to vehicle and wallet alike!
The single most cost-effective measure of prevent maintenance a car owner can take is, changing his/her car's oil on a regular basis (every 3,000 miles/3 months, whichever comes first). Although there are many national chains that offer "quick" oil changes at a competitive rate, they ALL lack the key element of a prevent maintenance oil change, and that is, the vehicle inspection performed by an experienced, qualified auto technician.
Like most components of a car, brakes are a wearable item that will periodically need servicing. Brake wear will vary depending on the type of driving you do. If you frequently drive in stop and go traffic, you will obviously wear out your brakes sooner than someone who does most of their driving on the highway.

John and Mark are exceptional. My family has been bringing our cars to A1 for over 30 years. I live on the North shore now and still drive my car to them. They are always fair, honest, and professional. Over the years they have become more like part of the family. You will NEVER be wrong bringing your car to them. Thank you Mark and John for always going above and beyond.
