Colchin always taken care of my companies cars, and now they have helped us with a personal car. We have an older Kia that has an engine issue that isn't fixable. Not only did they diagnose it quickly and free of charge, but they ordered special oil to try to prolong its life as we can't afford to replace it now. Josh cared more about helping us when we were not able to replace my son's car, then he did making a buck.

I believe Colchin Automotive help me save my truck from the salvage yard and the issues with the insurance company. I appreciate the service and believe it was above and beyond from start to finish. Front desk team is amazing. Colchin gave me guidance as if I was a long time friend. Honest about cost and severity of the issue. In the end it was so minor that they did not charge me for looking at it. I am new to the area and they are definitely the clear favorite for my new go-to mechanic.

I called Colchin to help with brake issues I was having and other maintenance I was told I needed. Colchin under promised and over delivered! The brakes were finished before they said they would be and they were less expensive. The other maintenance I was told I needed from another repair shop turned out to be just a small issue and Colchin took care of it no charge.

I would recommend Colchin Automotive to anyone and I'll use them again. They also followed up to see how everything was working weeks later, I felt I was being taken care of.

Colchin was awesome for me! I talked to Jason and he was so kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Honestly everyone I talked to was great! I had an emergency I needed fixed in a very short amount of time. I came in without an appointment and they had it fixed by lunch the same day. I will highly recommend them to anyone!

Came very highly recommended. Josh was very professional and helpful. He only did service that was necessary versus adding things to pad the bill. The work was done very quickly and we had our car back in one day. He did a thorough review of everything and told us what - and when - we should consider having done. Happy to say we now have a new trusted shop for our vehicles.

I had a fantastic experience at Colchin. So thankful for Josh and Colin, they were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and I feel like I got great value for my money there. I was passing through Denver on a cross country roadtrip and they were able to fit me in last-minute to help address a AC issue I had. Service was fast, and they gave me helpful insight into the problem so I could make educated decisions about how to proceed with the repairs. Next time I'm passing through Denver with car trouble, I'll definitely call them first!

These guys were wonderful! We were driving through in June when our AC went out. They got our car in and were very honest and transparent about what was going on. A part had to be ordered so we ended up fixing it back home. They wrote up everything they found and offered to call and talk to the shop back home if needed. Great honest shop!

Colchin is a good, thorough, and clean auto shop, but not transparent in their labor charges, and seem to charge around 20-30% higher labor rates than other nearby shops like Factory Trained Auto. Their labor rates seem to be somewhere in the range of $110-$175 per hour based on my charges. I'd expect similar or maybe slightly lower quality work at factory trained auto but at a lower price, although I haven't been there yet.

It's possible Colchin has more experience, is more thorough, and takes their time more than others, so that ~25% premium on labor may be due to having older and more experienced mechanics who take their time. It might even be from them taking more time at a similar hourly rate. I definitely appreciate mechanics taking their time to avoid mistakes and catch and fix any problems. However, the bill they gave me didn't show number of hours billed.

I had to ask how many hours they were billing me for, since it seemed to be about 50%+ more than they said it should be, and Jason threw around 2 or 3 numbers (he couldn't seem to remember exactly how many hours, which is weird for a huge job) and mentioned something about not even paying the mechanic for how many hours he worked, which all seemed a little fishy to me in part because the mechanic was a Colchin and the guy doing the paperwork was not.

Can a non-Colchin *really* tell a Colchin what to do at Colchin auto? Doubtful. They seem to take their time and have a very organized and clean shop, which is great. Their mechanics are also very experienced and seem to really know their stuff. Clay Colchin is experienced with the Ford 5.4 Triton engines (he has one himself) and was able to get mine running well after some timing issues. They were very professional and nice throughout the process. The place is super clean and well-organized.
