As a woman its always hard to find a trustworthy repair shop. I don't know anything about cars but what i do know is i can always trust this shop. Motorists beware! Stay away from that place! I brought in the car for a simple wheel alignment and was told that the rear suspension needed extensive repairs for over $1,800. I agreed, and paid the invoice upon "completion". The very next day, my wife and daughter almost got killed on a highway because the car swerved violently and could not keep the lane.
Upon bringing the car back to 3C Automotive, they confirmed the swerving, and requested more repairs for an additional $850. At that point I was sick of them and looked for a second opinion. What the second opinion revealed was sickening: 1. Wrong bolts were installed that did not match vehicle specification and were of the wrong size, wrong thread, and made of non-tempered steel. 2.
The rear suspension was making loud knocking sounds due to flimsy assembly. 3. They did not put back a backing plate that protected the car from road dirt. 4. They did not put back rubber brake boots 5. They did not perform a wheel alignment for which I came in the first place and for which I was charged! 6. They did not test the car before releasing it to the customer. 7. And worst of all, after learning that the car was unsafe to operate, they still let me take it. You've been warned!

Came there twice to fix very simple thing - spark plug and coil. Guess how much it is cost up here? $250. I paid it cause I tried to repair my little car quickly. But it is insane price for 30 minutes of work. I can provide a receipt if you ask me. And also they are requesting deposit. I will never come back here and I will never recommend this business to anyone

Mike gave me a positive customer service experience by letting me keep my appointment, even though I was thirty minutes late arriving because my GPS sent me to the wrong address. 3C Automotive and Repair is located at 8256 Lincoln Avenue in Skokie. It's located in Downtown Skokie, just two blocks from Oakton Community College. I used a LivingSocial voucher for an oil change, tire rotation, and 25-point inspection.
The whole process took under thirty minutes. I came to 3C because I wanted a lower price for the oil change than the $35 I would pay for an oil change with my current mechanic. I drive a 1999 model car. I know Mike is an honest person because, after looking at my car, he gave me the same inspection results that I had already gotten from my current mechanic without trying to "upsell" me. I would definitely come to Mike again if he can complete the major repairs needed on my car more affordably then my current mechanic. Thanks for a good experience!

About a month ago, I would have given 3C 5 stars. I went to them in need of an air condition recharge. They had a special priced at $49.99, so I took advantage of it. My overall first impression was ok. The men there were knowledgable and quick. Fast forward 2 weeks and my air conditioner is no longer working. I thought something critical was wrong with my vehicle.
I let another 2 weeks pass and decided to take my car to Autozone to see exactly what was wrong and they told me that I needed freon. They also said that in Illinois, a recharge is only needed every 4 years. I, now, reside in Ca and a recharge is needed every year or so. So to make an incredibly long story short, the men at 3C did not take care of my vehicle the way I thought they did.
They didn't fill the vehicle with freon like they were supposed to. I wouldn't recommend anybody to bring their cars to them. The really got one over on me and I do not appreciate it.

Use at your own risk! Had all my brakes done. Was not right from the start. Heard grinding from front that they claimed was normal. 2 months later now I get a huge vibration using brakes on highway. Went back. They want me to pay for new rotors + installation. NO THANKS! Why should I pay once to get it done wrong and again to hopefully get it right. Wound up with these guys after a Groupon oil change. BIG MISTAKE!

This is the best mechanic in Chicago, russian (and english) speaking. Been going there for years and many people I referred there are extremely satisfied. Best prices combined with best quality, usually half to what you'd pay in places like Pep-boys or Car-x. Example for my car new upgrades and installation (might be different for yours): 15 inch tires with alignment $100 each, muffler $150, 2 premium brake pads and rotors for $200, compressor $400, full synthetic oil change $50. They run pretty busy so you may need to leave car for the day if it's something serious. Walking distance from Skokie library.

If i could give them -5 stars i would. I was recently looking to buy a used car and wanted to get it checked out before purchasing. I purchased a Groupon now for a oil change and 45 point inspection. I asked the very rude Russian behind the counter if this would work for me and he says yes, but that he can't take me for about an hour. The guy I bought the car from pulls right in with no wait 5 minutes later, no questions.
Then the Russian tells me that I cannot use my groupon and that I now have to pay twice as much. Seeing how I want to get this over with I agree. The mechanic then tells us that both the engine and transmission are no good on the car. His explanation. It sounds funny. No further detail, no further explanation. We then take the car to the local pep boys and they say nothing is wrong with the car. I do not like this place or the service. Horrible!
