This place can't fix anything complex. Small and simple things, sure.maybe, but anything serious that takes significant work on modern cars, don't even bother. They're in a horrible location in Skokie, the inside looks cheap and the head guy over here is kind of passively aggressive, rude and dismissive. Basically an a-hole. Most of the positive reviews online are probably close friends and family associated with Leitherer.

Go to a place like Gerber Collision & Glass in Glenview. They know what the hell they're doing, unlike Leitherer Body Shop and the clown running it. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! TRUST ME!

Where do I begin? Family owned business that is as honest as they come. Hats off to Bob and his family for being such an outstanding pillar of the community and having the right values. We have taken our cars to Leitherer a few times and they do a marvelous job, estimates are consistently less than we expect and far far lower than anyone else, and they are just an absolute pleasure to deal with. Bob and his family member once dropped off my car as I was too busy to pick it up and needed it for the weekend.

I was glad to find these guys. They fixed my car for a reasonable price. Will never take it to a dealership again. Thanks guys for being an honest establishment.

They did a nice job on my car. They finished the job by the day promised, they handled thr State Farm claim process.

Both of my cars suffered significant hail damage after a recent storm. State Farm recommended Leitherer and I am super happy with the work! Bob was very friendly and communicates during every step of the process. He even called me back to replace a lightbulb he noticed was out as I left his lot, and took extra time to buff out some scratches I noticed after the work was done and touched up some paint on an unrelated spot so it wouldn't rust. Great local small business, will definitely use them again if the need arises in the future.

Second time I have had to use this body shop. State Farm Insurance recomend this body shop after a person has hit me. This body shop does great work, clean and professional.

I brought my 2014 Ford Explorer in for body work after I was hit on the freeway. I got great service from start to finish and my car looks fantastic. I was told they needed a week and they completed it a day early. I will definitely be back should I need any more body work done. Thank you Leitherer for outstanding work.

This place was awesome. I first received an estimate for a bent bumper. After getting 2 additional estimates, they were the most reasonable. They were extremely professional and did an amazing job. I would highly recommend this friendly and reliable place.

Took car in for estimate as required by State Farm covered by other driver after waiting for two days for appointment from this facility. I already had an estimate in hand from shop I had experience with. Leitherer provided estimate approximately $3000. When we told State Farm claims that we wanted to have car repaired at a shop known to us, check was cut for $1600 based on an amended estimate Leitherer provided to State Farm, supposedly based on using a used door where the other was for new parts.

My assumption is that they would have charged State Farm the $3000 if I had given them the repair, but low balled the estimate when they found out I was going elsewhere. They did not advise me of the change in their estimate. I have no idea of the quality of their work but if it is as shady as this transaction who knows.

Excellent job and nice people. They did an excellent job with our van, they made sure we were happy with the work. Also enterprise car rental is close by and will drop off and pickup a rental from there which is very convenient. Thank you.

I have had two vehicles expertly repaired here, I highly recommend them. I am a mechanical engineer and I am extremely meticulous on my cars. I am a car guy. Bob and his team got them repaired to better than new condition. From my experience, this is one of the best repair facilities on the north shore. They worked seamlessly with State Farm to make sure the vehicles were perfect.

Paint better than from the factory, and all parts 100% in order below the surface. Regarding the racism comments, I think those are straight up lies aimed at tearing down a good shop. Everyone is extremely kind, but Bob especially. My wife is Chinese and I witnessed nothing but kindness and respect. It really makes me mad that such accusations were made.

Notice how in their comments there was no detail about their actual experience. Additionally the completion date estimate was right on the money. Very important with coordinating rental car plans. Highly recommended, and I know more about cars than most will ever care too.

It's hard finding this place as its hidden inside an alley type road. They are really good at fixing body damages. My door was crushed and they fixed it really good. Very friendly and good customer service.

After another body shop seemed uncomfortable dealing with the insurance company, we called Leitherer Body Shop in Skokie. The individual who answered the phone was very pleasant and explained our options and what they could do for us. It was very easy to schedule an appointment and the work was done promptly in one day, ahead of their initial estimate.

I had my car fixed at Leitherer after I hit a deer. Bob was great on letting me know how long my car was going to be there and kept me updated. He worked with my insurance co. to get everything needed to do the repair. My car was done when he said it would be. I'm so excited it looks brand new again. Their prices are fair and the work exceeds my expectations every time. The owner takes the time to explain everything throughly with me and is happy to answer all my questions. This actually does reflect to your business because I left my number for YOU to call me back regarding an issue 5 months ago. Somehow, your employee got a hold of my number and chose to harrass me with an offensive racist statement while he was working, at your establishment. I do not know him. I never met him. I spoke to you about the issue yesterday, and you told me you were too busy to deal with it.

You then handed me off to your employee where he went off on a tyrade. As i told you while i spoke with you, the phone call was recorded. I have all the texts from your employer harrasing me saved. When he has your work info plastered all over FB, you should be concerned as an owner. This has been broughten to your attention twice now. Have a good day.

Great service and nice people. Couldn't get an appointment right away, but they did a temporary fix on my headlight during my estimate so I wouldn't get a ticket!

I had a smashed rear bumper and Leitherer was on the insurance company's list as an approved shop for repair. I'm very pleased that I chose them as it was as pleasant an experience as auto body work can be. They were straightforward with me about when they could begin the work, and once I got my car in it was turned around in a single day.

Other shops I've used seem to hold on to the car longer than necessary. The fix looks like new, and the quote was 15% lower than another I had received. I will definitely use them again if I'm unlucky enough to need auto body repairs.

I brought my 2015 Mazda 3 into the shop for repair and left the shop astounded by the wonderful customer service. After waiting 45 minutes for my rental car to pick me up, the shop owner took the liberty of calling them to express his discontent on my behalf. The repairs were completed on time and there were no hidden fees or other shady business.

When I got the car back, it looked better then when I bought at the dealer! Bob was very organized and courteous of my schedule and time commitments. His team did an excellent job! Leitherer's Body Shop comes highly recommended in my book!

I live in Chicago but I'm so glad I made the 20 min drive to this body shop! They were able to get my car in that same week when all the places in Chicago I called were at least a 2-3 week wait. While I waited for my estimate, I mentioned that my side mirrors were both acting up after getting whacked in traffic. Mike came out, took a look, and had both fixed within 5 minutes and didn't charge me!

It made my day! While my car was being fixed, Bob communicated well and kept me updated every step of the way. After I picked up the car (i had had back bumper replaced after being rear ended and it looked perfect) I noticed that they had buffed out a pretty large scrape on the side of my car that I hadn't even mentioned to them. Again, no extra charge. Leitherer body shop went above and beyond to make sure my car was taken care of. The quality of work and customer service were absolutely top notch. I highly recommend this body shop!

I was in a minor fender bender and did not know where to take my car to be fixed. Being new to the area, I was not sure of a good place to take it to. Leitherer Body Shop received great reviews on Yelp, State Farm recommended them, so I took my car there. A few days later, my car was fixed and looking like a new car! One of those places that has been around ever since I was a kid. My dad got all the cars I dented up in high school fixed here. My sister got her car fixed here.now I finally had a turn! I use State Farm Insurance- and of all the shops in Skokie- some had shady Yelp reviews.and so I opted to go with the familiar shop that I have personal experience with! Bob was great- called me to keep me updated. There's a DunkinDonuts a block away- Starbucks.25 mile away and an Enterprise Rent a Car two blocks away.

All of which I visited- So I had like $7k worth of hail damage on my car- Bob and his crew did a great job in a timely manner- It's nice to know there are honest & caring people out there in the auto body world- I wanted leave these guys a yelp review seeing as they didn't have any-
