After living with a dented side door on my car for over a year, I decided to treat myself by getting it fixed. We've used Akins before and had very good results, although we've also had an insurance agency paying for it in the past. This time it was on us. We worked with Nelson, who has a terrific personality and was fun to deal with. The service was done promptly, which these days with all the supply chain issues was pretty surprising, and we are more than satisfied with the results. They did a great job in a reasonable amount of time and the charges, given that we were paying for them ourselves, were reasonable. Can't ask for more!

My car was recently hit and I brought it to Akins. I was greeted so warmly by everyone who works there, and ended up having great conversations! My car looks brand new, and they even made sure to wrap things up in a way that saved me on the cost for my car rental. I was involved in an accident and brought my car to Akins Body Shop for repairs. Special thanks to Nelson for his professionalism and responsiveness. He went above and beyond and made it super easy for me to drop my car off and get me in a rental. Nelson made sure to communicate with me on the progress of my vehicle and had it repaired in a timely manner. I am so happy with the repairs and customer service. I would highly recommend Akins Body Shop.

This place was very disappointing from the beginning. I waited at the front with no waiting to be excused because it was no one in front of me. I walked in on a conversation complaining about a customer. When I was finally acknowledged the girl changed her voice. Then when my case with my claim was brought up it was an old guy talking about my claim with his back turned towards me.
I had to do the clarifying for what had happened to my car. At no fault of my own. My car was parked on a dangerous street where to my surprise it is customary to steal license plates. And someone had actually hit my car. When the old man finally got up to go see what had happened to my car. He made it clear that they wouldn't be able to get the parts for my car because my car has Japanese pieces to bring in.
He also added that I would not be able to leave my car when I asked him if I could leave it there. His response was because he had 15 cars coming in that same night and his ratings would go down. The parking and the dysfunctionality of the body shop was definitely not of my likings. My heart by the way was not and driving condition. And I drove it back 2 East Palo feeling extremely sad and without hope. Luckily there was a shop that is closer to location where I have my car parked safely. And they treated me much better from beginning to end.

My car was vandalized by a stray bullet that punctured through the roof into the back seat. I dropped it off at Akins per recommendation by my insurance State Farm. The staff was super friendly (mostly worked with Nelson). My car was done in less then two weeks with a new roof/interior and paint job. On top of the good quality and supportive staff they also took it upon themselves to buff some previous scratches I had from years prior that was always bumming me out. When I picked up my cleaned car and saw not only the roof fixed but the previous scratched buffed I was beyond grateful. Highly highly recommend.

This place is honestly a joke. I brought in my car which had been rear ended and the old guy is a douche. I wasn't supposed to be dealing with him but I had 2 separate appointments with zef I believe was his name but both times he was not there? Defeats the point of setting and appointment. So I got stuck with some old dude with a bad attitude.
Not only that but when I went to pick up my car and I was missing hardware from my nitrous system in the trunk. I called them out on it and they completely denied the fact that they took it. On top of that my trunk does not latch. It did for maybe a week before I started having the same issue as before. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE CLOWN. They are thieves and lack professionalism. Also when I went to pick up my car the bumper was missing 4 screws behind the rear tires.

I had three cars (Audi A5, Honda CRV and Honda Accord) over the past years repaired at Akins and they did an outstanding job. Communication with Eddie is friendly and professional. Service is efficient and the body work of the best quality. On top of that I really appreciate how well detailed each one my cars were once delivered to me. Of note, each time I left some valuables in the car and nothing was ever stolen. I mention it as it is in stark contrast with previous experiences in diverse garages and body shops.

I got scratches on the passenger side, and my insurance company AAA referred me here. The whole process is very smooth and pleasant and efficient - very short wait, got my quote very fast, job was done fast etc. Nelson was my advisor - try to get him, he is great, works super hard, stayed past the store's closing time to wait for me to pick up my car.
While waiting for the job to get done there is text messages and phone calls that keep me updated on the process, and they are actually ahead of schedule - delivered the car back to me one day early.

My experience with Akins was terrible. I had a car accident. Out of the list the agent sent me, I chose Akins because it's close to home and the google review averaged 4. But my car stayed there for a week until I called. I was promised a report would be sent out in the next 2 hours. Then another week passed by. I thought the insurance company was holding up. But they never heard from Akins! Quote from the agent "Unfortunately the shop should not have taken that long to advise us of the situation".

I was directed here by State Farm. They were friendly at first. First estimate took two weeks and only materialized after I pressured my insurance company to call them on my behalf my calls to Akins were met with fast-talking and incoherent utterances of what might be wrong concluded with ". but we have to wait and see." Then they started working. One week later they find more damage. Now here we are, one month later. Waiting for them to send my insurance company more information to complete the claim.

Was recommended by a friend and I can't be more than happier with my Honda and Mini Cooper services. Bye bye to dealers and costly services. These guys only perform what is required and at the best rate. They do not oversell or overdo and that is what i liked. It's fast and pocket friendly. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately I had to get my vehicle fixed after a hit and run. I recently gave birth to twins and I have absolutely no time or patience to deal with a body shop / rental car. Akins made this process painless and believe it or not, enjoyable. I did not worry about my vehicle and it was completed in a timely manner. And, most importantly it looked AMAZING!
I was suppose to turn in my leased vehicle, but after seeing what a great job they did, I decided to keep it! Eddie, Nelson and Amy were extremely helpful and professional. What car worries?! Head to Akins!

Awful service. Absolutely the worst customer support I have ever received. This shop was recommend by my insurance - Progressive. Here are some 'service' that I have received so far: 1. I was hang up on my call twice a day. I got hang up when I was about to ask a question. 2. I was told that I can receive my car but it was postponed twice so far. 3.
I received no heads up on the postponed notice of the fix and I have to call them and ask for status update. 4. The reception lady promised me to transfer to the manager in charge but I was left on the call for 20 mins and nobody was picking up. I am still waiting for my car to be fixed. It seems too impossible. I regret choosing this shop and I hope you will not either.

My car needed body work after a small collision. From beginning to end this body shop was impeccable. Even the coffee is good. Tanya seems to be the office manager and seems to always be cheerful and helpful. Not all the women in the office are as personable. Not only did Zeffee Bobadilla and his colleagues repair the car, they cleaned the car, in and out, and they kept me informed from the beginning to the end. They made the experience less dreary than it could have been.

Quick update, since they did not return the all the parts for me to reassemble my car, I returned to pick up the missing parts. They saw the review I posted on Yelp, & to say they were rude is an understatement. Customer service is not their forte. If you're not into getting abused stay away. They refused to return my parts:

My car got backed into and some of the paint on the rear bumper was scratched off, no body damage. The other person had Farmers Insurance and suggested this place. Farmers was easy to deal with here, no hassle at all on my end. At Akins, Patrick helped me. He was very nice, to the point, and helped me with everything I needed. The work its self was estimated to be 3 days long.
I dropped it off Tuesday morning and picked it up Wednesday night! I am very happy with the results and the costs were significantly cheaper then the other estimate I had gotten on my own. The only weird service I had was with the front desk. I think it might be a bit disorganized or is in need of some better communication. Overall I will go back to Akins if I am ever in need again. Thanks!

Avoid this shop and find another AAA-preferred dealer. They take way more cars than they can handle and it reflects on the quality of their work. The repairs took twice as long as the estimated time. The staff is friendly, but communication is lacking. The total price was more than doubled without informing me and all that extra work was done without informing me. Sure, the insurance is paying, but it would be nice to know more work is being done before it's done, not after the fact.
Once the work was done, the paint job was good, but several exterior and interior parts were missing. Moreover, the interior of the car was dirty with clumps of some adhesive or sealant. I cleaned it off with a few wet paper towels, but it left me disappointed. They do terrible quality assurance checks. I have to assume they hope that customers don't notice. Frankly, this is not a place where you want to leave your car.
There's better shops out there that care about the details. Pros: - Good paint job - Friendly staff Cons: - Expect repairs to take double the amount of time they tell you - Expect little communication during repairs - Expect some missing parts after repairs: a nut, a bolt, plastic caps, rubber liners, etc. (stuff that most people don't even notice is missing on first glance, because hey, if you might not notice, why should they?)
