Let's be honest - the days when you need a tow, a mechanic, or a courtesy vehicle are usually not your best days. The crew at R&S has made the difference for me on those days with quick response, straightforward assessment, and as much convenience as the situation could offer. If you are in the area, they should be your first call.

Brought my van in because my windshield wipers stopped working, and as I work in construction and there was a full week forecast for rain, this would have been a big problem for me. They got me in first thing the next day morning on a Tuesday. Turns out the wiper motor is connected to the transmission assembly, and due to this, the whole thing has to be replaced.
They called me before proceeding with any work due to this costing more than a simple wiper motor to explain what it was, and to verify I was alright spending that much before they started due to it being more complicated than they said on the phone prior to knowing my vehicle model. Rick's customer service was excellent, they fixed the problem, and they got me in last second. Could have just done the work and let me show up with sticker shock. Will be returning here in the future for any additional vehicle problems.

After 2 laughably horrible experiences in the Roseville/Shoreview/Little Canada area at other shops I'll give this place 5 stars. Recently I took my car into a shop near me that shall not be named since they somehow convinced google to delete my 1 star comment. The shop that shall not be named tried to charge me $1700 in udder nonsense to fix an issue that they misdiagnosed.
I kid you not, they wanted almost $93 in labor to replace a battery! Two weeks later my car died in a parking lot and I needed to have it towed (I specifically avoided the shop that shall not be named even though it was closer.) I was a little nervous about towing it to a shop I didn't know anything about but they did a really great job! They found out my car my issue was an electrical grounding problem and the throttle body needed to be cleaned.
My dead car came back to life and runs great! I wouldn't say this place is dirt cheap (looks like $120 in labor/hr) but I would say you really get what you pay for and having mechanics who actually know what they are talking about is 100% worth it! Nice job R&S you just won a local customer!

My son's car broke down as he was on his way to the first day at his new job. The tow truck driver recommended R & S even though the car was initially going to another shop. It took R & S five days to diagnose and replace a lower radiator hose (about a $10 hose) at a charge of $311 (my son is new to town, living on his own, and had $326 to his name with another week until payday).
Less than one hour after my son picked up the "fixed" car on a Friday, it broke down again. We called R & S after having the car towed to a shop near the breakdown and paying for a second diagnosis. The second shop said the head gasket was cracked and HCs had leaked into the coolant. When R & S was contacted, they claimed that the other shop was probably trying to stiff us and agreed to look at it again.
We had to arrange for another tow back to their shop (the third tow for the car in less than a week). Lo and behold, the second shop was correct. R & S initially misdiagnosed the car - even with a 'test drive' after replacing the radiator hose, they failed to notice the HCs in the coolant. Not only did R & S refuse to refund any of the money my son paid to them for the "repair" work, they also did not offer to pick the car up when it broke down right after my son left their shop (they have towing services on site!). Additionally, there was no offer for a loaner car during the five days my son had no transportation to his new job, even though the R & S website says loaners are available.
Because of this, the shoddy work cost my son $311, and we (his parents) are out $200 for a second diagnosis and a third tow. R & S may be good to their loyal customers, but I would avoid this sham shop at all costs if you are a new customer. They had no interest in treating my son fairly, and they obviously don't care that he lost over $300 with nothing to show for it other than a still-broken car.

I brought my car here two times. They always call to confirm the work that they'll be doing and an estimate on the total. Very clear and professional. The most recent time, the car required more work than the car was worth, so we decided to junk it. They were so patient with us as we figured out insurance and getting the car towed. They went above and beyond what I would have expected anywhere else. I definitely recommend this place! Thank you so much!

I was quoted for 1600-1700 bucks at the dealership, boy was that a sticker shock. My colleague had recommended R&S Automotive, and the customer service was night and day compared to the dealership. I worked with Rick, and he definitely went above and beyond. He definitely gave me great pricing. I felt like the dealership was going gouge me for everything I had.
After speaking to Rick, he reassured me that he will be lower than the dealership. I am glad that I took the recommendation. He saved me money, I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Rick was very knowledgeable, and really trying to help me in this dire situation. Thank You to R&S for helping me.

What can I say. Rick and his team were professional, fast and courteous. I had called 3 other locations before reaching out to R&S. They either didn't answer the phone or call back. One place actually told me to find someplace else because he was too busy. I had to have my fuel pump replaced. They towed me to those facility, gave me a loaner car to get to work, found out what was wrong with my truck and had it fixed. All under 5 hours. What a great place and a great team. This is my only choice for automotive repair in the Twin Cities. Great job. And thank you.

Great people, great service, very honest, and willing to help you with whatever you need and willing to go the extra mile to find cheaper parts, used parts, etc. They might seem a little stand-offish but they really are great. I also love that they offer loaner cars even though they arent very nice, it saves finding a ride or car to use! Love 'em!
