This was a struggle for me, the place has been around since I was a kid, so it was a no brainer to take my truck there and have my differential repaired. The staff was extremely friendly, but communication is very poor and I have a sense the mechanic working on my vehicle was new or just didn't have the experience needed to do the repair. Ultimately my truck was there for 5 weeks.

Normally I like Simmons and recommend them to everybody, until recently I had a po430 I went in to get an idea of what it costs to get catalytic converters replaced. I'm not sure of the name maybe Ken he told me it was California emissions and he would get back to me anyways he told me around $6700.00 well Jim click replaced both for less than $2400.00. What's up with that!

I have had nothing but good experiences at Simmons. I have had my Land Cruiser repaired to pass emissions, with a carburetor rebuild. One of the very few places that still do this kind of work. Speaking of which, Toyota Land Cruisers are notoriously hard to find quality shops that are not factory Toyota dealerships. I know Tucson is blessed, as some You Tube creators have videos that show them traveling long distances to get their rigs worked on.
I have had a blower motor replaced, that had been buggy for years; and also a power steering pump replaced; both of which were not expensive compared to other places that had been quoted. If you have a 4x4; any make, take it to Simmons for a quality repair.

Simmons Automotive performed regular maintenance plus critical repairs on my 1997 pickup. I took it elk hunting in northern New Mexico. I was on some of the steepest rough roads up there. We appreciate the diagnostic work done when we brought our Chrysler 200 in for a second opinion. A brake shop had diagnosed a pulsing of the brakes to require replacement of front and back rotors. Before we could tell them the rotors were warrantied by Simmons they told us they had replaced the front rotors and billed us for them. When we brought the car to Simmons to evaluate the rear brakes they also looked at the front rotors.
It turned out that work had not been done as described. Simmons replace the front rotors under warranty and determined that there was no need to replace the rear rotors. We received a refund from the brake shop.

I was towing a trailer through Tuscon on the way to Louisiana when the rear end on my truck blew out. I started calling places I found after a Google search and everyone was booked weeks out. Wade gave me a list of places he would trust and lucky for me a shop got me in the same day. I can't speak to the work they do at Simmons but with that level of customer service and trying to do all he could to help even though he wasn't making any money on it, I know I would give them a shot if I'm in the area and needed anything done. Without a doubt, they would be my first call.

Employee Luke was very attentive to me he figured out quickly what my problem on my 1970 Chevelle drive line. Work was on time for a reasonable price with explanation on what was needed and ultimately done to my car. Great place to do business with. I will be back. I only wish they were closer but 30 miles one way is worth the travel for a garage you can trust. Thank you Simmons auto repair. Job well done

Was really impressed by intake of the vehicle at appointed time, and by prompt communication by phone and by email of the results of inspection, and the plan for repairs. Seemed to be straight shooters, and did not add on a bunch of extraneous unnecessary repairs, which must have been very tempting in my 16 y/o Suburban with 325,000 miles on it. Repairs seemed to have been done well.
I would definitely use this outfit again. Had a VERY unprofessional experience with a differential service place that is nearby--made me drive across town for 30 min for scheduled appointment, and then never got to my car TWICE! Would absolutely recommend Simmons to a friend.

Well let me just say that this might not be the cheapest place to fix your 4X4 but after this I will say that they are very thorough and professional. They give you a list of things to fix and advise you as to what is critical and what is not. They work with you and are very professional about it. I will have to say that they did miss one thing that I took it in for originally but probably due to them fixing something that they assumed would fix the problem.
I do think that it should have been caught before I picked up the truck and drove home necessitating another trip to their shop. BUT, and a big BUT, it was corrected the second time at no charge which I didn't even have to argue for. This is what I call customer service. Mike was a consummate professional in all my dealings with him. Good Job guys, the truck drives beautiful and hopefully for another 3-4 years!

I took my old truck in for a lot of minor issues & the service Mgr found many more or invented even more. I have owned this truck for 20-years & I know it well. I found the service Mgr arrogant & inflexible & I believed I was being ripped off. They have a good old boys radio program fully of shuck & jive talking and they will do their best to sell you a ton of extra stuff your truck just does not need. I never went back & you shouldn't either. Be Forwarned!

STEER CLEAR! I had a 4 wheel alignment done and the rear tires were wearing on the inside. I took it back and they aligned it again under warranty (had to take a day off of work). Apparently they were too busy so they farmed out the work to "Chewy's Chop Shop" and they left a bolt loose which ruined a $270.00 tire on the left rear that was only a week old. Took it back AGAIN, (another day off of work) and they admitted to leaving the bolt loose and replaced the tire but refused to compensate me for any time off of work.
I talked to Wade on the phone - he was condescending and short with me. Wade really needs to take some customer service classes. Mike was the staff there that I had to deal with - he is impossible to have an intelligent conversation with and doesn't even know the proper terminology for alignment parts. They also tried to convince me that my oil was old and black when it had been changed 3 days prior to the second visit. I actually had to show Mike the dipstick before he would believe me then his response was "I don't know what he was talking about". GO SOMEWHERE ELSE - ANYWHERE ELSE!

Not so good this time around. Horrible communication I left two phone numbers, was told I would be contacted around 11. No. At 12:30 called, someone took my name and number. Didn't hear a word. At 4 I called and didn't really seem like my problem was diagnosed. Nothing was actually done or worked on. And since place closed at 5, not much else to be done. Paid a bit for that too price wise.
