Called them on 2-21-22 to see if they could fix a driver window that won't go up, a radiator hose leak and see why sometimes it wouldn't start right away on my boyfriends 2001 dodge Dakota sport. Took it to them on 2-24-22 for the scheduled diagnostic and also left a $500 deposit thinking that would cover pretty much everything but didn't hear back until 2-25-22 @6 after they closed and after a voicemail asking what was found.
They said spark plugs may fix the issue of starting, the top radiator hose needed changed but the bottom one was still good enough but they could change it too. The window regulator needed changed and also it needed new shocks, a battery housing and new rear tires abs a gas cap. Colin told me it would be another $550 and a week until all work would be finished said yes at first but then discussed and changed our mind and called first thing Saturday 7 am thinking we would hear back first thing Monday 2-28-22 but was wrong instead we go in as soon as they open to pick up truck and find out no one listened to my voicemails and was told it was gonna cost $208 for the diagnostic and some pressure test we never asked for.
Basically we almost paid $1050 for a tune up that MIGHT make the truck run better. Instead we stopped all work got $292 back and they were still trying to get me to allow them to do the work. Told them no. We took it to a neighbor friend/mechanic cost us less than $500 in parts and labor and only took him a couple hours. Autotailor in our eyes are crooks.
They over charged us just because we were able to put down a deposit. They tried fixing things on the truck we never asked them to look at. They do not communicate with customers at all all they see them for is dollar signs. Do not take ur vehicle to them you will not get what needs fixed or you will pay am arm and a leg for simple repairs.

I made the mistake of going to the dealership first. Having learned my lesson, I looked online to find a good repair shop for my BMW and Autotailor had lots of good reviews so I decided to give them a try. I'm so glad I did! My car decided to turn into a giant puzzle where all sorts of random things would go wrong. They were able to ferret out the root cause and fix everything.
The shop was in constant communication with me throughout the process, letting me know what they were finding, suggesting the path forward, giving me reasonable estimates and a ballpark timetable for when the repairs would be done. I got my car back and it runs like new, looks cleaner than when I brought it there and with no billing surprises. I can't recommend them enough!

Brent, Colin and the rest of the staff have always been honest about what needs to be done and how much it'll cost. They do their best to avoid unnecessary tests. They always explain what's wrong, the timeframe it'll take to repair or if it's not urgent how long I should wait to bring my car in. Service: Oil change

2006 Jetta TDI - car broke down and my routine mechanic recommended Autotailor, they supposedly specialize in foreign/German cars. I had it towed there, where it sit for a week and a half then I received a text that the inspection was complete and the repair would be about $4500. This cost was more than the car is worth, or approximately the same cost, so I didn't move forward with the repair.
Once I was given a verbal description of the issue I called a few other mechanics and each was less than half of the cost for repair. When I showed up to get my car Autotailor charged me $221 for the inspection, over the phone he said he did quite a bit of work and had to take the car apart. When i showed up they told me the repair was only $3600, not $4500 like they said over the phone.
The inspection report also noted they didn't take the car fully apart, rather used a boroscope to inspect it and find the issue. There was never any discussion beforehand that there would be such a large charge just of looking at the car. I ended up towing the car from Autotailor to another mechanic who did the job for $1800. If you use this place I would recommend getting a clarification of the costs up front since if you don't do the overpriced work they recommend then you'll end up paying a huge cost for inspection. Save yourself time, money and a headache and take your car somewhere else. Sincerely, Totally Disappointed Customer

I took my car in for a general inspection in July and they found some issues. Up until then the car was fine. After two weeks my altenator failed and I had to change it. In the inspection they didn't mention anything about the altenator having any issues. Two months later, I got another error code about the emmissions system. In total I have paid 3500$ and my car's engine light is on again, requiring service. I am exceedingly disappointed! Would not recommend to anyone.

Brent and Colin are so professional and understanding. They listen, they try to find the problem, and if there's no problem they tell you instead of making you pay out the Wazoo on trumped up charges. I like the Comprehensive Oil Change where they check everything out and send you a digital copy of the report with pictures. It is VERY informative and I love the assurance of them doing such a comprehensive service.
When they say my car is in good shape, I can relax and not worry because I trust them! They are honest, hard working, trustworthy and knowledgeable! You won't be sorry having them service your vehicle.

Recently my daughter's Volkswagon experienced some mechanical issues. She is a student at UNC and I live on the western slope. They made the necessary repairs while effectively communicating with she and I during the process. Off she went in the repaired vehicle. Within a week or two, the car began spurting oil from a issue with an oil pressure valve.
She took it back to them and they offered to make repairs and split the costs with me. It was very obvious that the initial repairs caused the new problem. While communicating with me, the owner actually stated that he "wanted to be fair with me". I responded that paying for a repair that we both knew was inadvertently created by them was not fair.
He immediately said they would take care of it, and made the repairs. Acknowledging the error and making it right is admirable and smart. Proof that this is a reputable and honest operation. Highly recommended!

I have had to have multiple repairs done on my car this year and I would never waste my time, energy, or money going to any other mechanic than Autotailor. The staff are honest, helpful, and take the time to thoroughly explain the work that is being done and why. They have even offered to come to the location of my dead car twice to try to get it started so I could avoid the hassle of a tow truck.
Though they seem to always have plenty of business, they always find the time to repair my car within a day or two. I have never written a review on anything before, but I had to for Autotailor because they are that good.

My windshield wipers were acting funny and I was not sure what do to so I called to make an appointment and they saw me day of. They fixed my wipers within 15 minutes and their customer service was amazing! Colin in the front did an amazing job telling me what was wrong and helping me out! For sure coming back next time I have car trouble!

I was having this ongoing problem with my car that caused it to go into limp mode every so often. It became more of a problem when time went on. Brent and Lynn from Autotailor were some of the best people you can ask for. They were so helpful and knowledgeable about what was wrong with my car and notified me of new things that they were doing along the way. I highly recommended going to Autotailor for your VW, AUDI, BMW, Mercedes and more, needs.
