Express Transmissions

Tyler and Ralph were very straightforward. Transmission died, options were sort of limited due to age of car and transmission installed by GM (2009 Equinox). They allowed me to get a salvage type transmission off eBay. Tyler advised me through the process on vendors he had dealt with in the past. No guarantees on the transmission (bought a warranty through eBay). Crossing my fingers.

I went in for a new transmission. The staff is professional and was ready to explain any questions that I had. The van was ready a week earlier than was originally promised. Excellent service, friendly staff.

Don't buy a transmission from them. You'll just have to replace it again in less than 2 years. I dropped my car off to them with a slight rattling sound, but no functional issues. After they told me it would cost the same $3,200 I paid not even 2 years prior to replace this transmission, I went to pick it up and heard about 4 other sounds aside from the rattling instantly as soon as I picked it up.

It started slipping out of gear and I barely made it home with my hazards on. I called them and left a message asking for them to explain what all they had done in their inspection of my vehicle, explaining the new issues that were not present when I dropped it off, and I have yet to hear back from them. I find it to be cowardice to not respond to the voicemail I left.

If all they did was test drive it, they could have called back and said that's all they did. But, the fact that they ignored my message and didn't call me back makes me think there may be something more going on.

Ralph was nice to us. He's funny too. I love a person with a sense of humor.

My experience at this shop was great, Ralf was very kind, very professional. I have been to this shop twice, once for transmission in Lexus rx330 and a second time for what I thought was a transmission problem in my daughter's Hoda civic but Ralf told me that she had just over filled it with oil and he only charged me for oil change and not a transmission rebuild which I was totally ready to pay for. These people are really honest and they do good work

I broke down two hours from home because my clutch master cylinder stopped working. I called them and told them I needed the car ready by friday and they told me they would figure it out. They were very transparent (about half way through the week I called and they said "no good news yet but we're trying") and sure enough they had it ready and running by friday.

I think in reality they worked more hours on it than they quoted me at, but still only charged me the quote price. Very accommodating to my difficult situation. Both Ralph and Tyler were very nice and professional. Would recommend highly. Wish these guys were in columbus!

Our family absolutely trusts Express Transmission! A few years ago we took our Sentra to a Nissan dealership in Toledo and we were told that we needed a new transmission. We decided to get a second opinion and went to Express Transmission. Not only did we not need a new transmission but the problem was a couple hundred dollar fix that Express professionally took care of.

We had another issue with my Dodge Journey and they were super helpful. I've even went there and asked the guys to help me install my windshield fluid sprayer. I knew that they only worked on Transmissions but because of how kind they have always been I felt comfortable enough to go to them first. They could've turned me away but they smiled and helped me!

Naturally when we actually did need a new transmission they were our #1 choice. I can't say enough good things about Express Transmission. Dependable, trustworthy, prompt and professional. 10 stars in our opinion!

My wife and I came in from Northern Michigan on May 4th, after struggling half of the way down with our transmission, we parked the car in the driveway over night. In the morning the transmission was completely shot. After talking to a couple of mechanics they gave me the advice it will take 2 to 6 weeks to get my car into the shop and then 2 weeks for the repair.

I couldn't live with this, because I already wasted the time between the 4th and 7th. I remembered the name Express Transmissions from the church we attend when we are in Toledo. Friday afternoon May 7th I called, I talk to Ralph, who directed me to tow my car to the shop, he would look at it and call me. I heard from Ralph Monday morning (they were closed over the weekend), he went over the condition of the car, what my options were and what the expenses would be, all three please my wife and I very much.

Our car was being worked on in a matter of 2 days not 6 weeks. The following Friday May 14th our car was completed. I asked around to find a good local shop who could conduct many types of repairs, not just your average corner muffler shop who says they do it all. I was recommended to go see the awesome staff at Express. I gave them the full description of my issues, provided details on every aspect of the problem I was having, and what I assumed was the culprit.

They shortly diagnosed the issue, confirmed the problem, and had it resolved in no time, at what I consider to be an extremely reasonable rate. The whole overall experience was awesome, and I walked away feeling valued. Express provides honest work with a smile and a handshake. My truck and I will be back, along with the rest of the fleet.

After two unsuccessful disappointing rebuilds in Texas, Ralph and his crew did an EXCELLENT job working with the shop in Dallas to get my transmission working like it should have to begin with! These guys know their business and they are honest and very professional!! I highly recommended them and thank them for their great service!!!

I wasn't expecting to end up here but after a long story I was pleased with how things ended up. I was recommended here by another mechanic shop. First time, they diagnosed the car after a course hrs, worked on it same day, was ready for pickup first thing the following morning. They were a friendly staff, took time on the phone to answer my questions, and they had a very fair price. I'll be back.

Express Transmissions staff were on it when we called with our only vehicle breaking down! After speaking with their office on the day of breaking down they responded immediately with a tow truck ..... Friday afternoon. They committed to start the job Monday morning and possibly having it ready by the end of the day! Worse scenario Tuesday morning.

This businesses’ mechanics/staff responded with professionalism, understanding and courtesy. They were knowledgeable, thorough and helpful. I have a Mercedes, oil changes and tunes are usually extremely expensive at the dealers. NOT at Express Transmissions it was so reasonable, i saved a lot of money!. Not only that, it was quick and the guys were very polite . Thank you Express Transmission!
