Ever since I was a small Boy, I have always had the knack for figuring out how things operate---sometimes with my parents' disapproval! I have always liked muscle cars (Mopar's the most), 4-wheel drive trucks (lifted of course) and fabrication! My Father taught me a lot when I was young, by the time I was 15 I had rebuilt my Roadrunner's engine and was on my way to becoming a Master Technician! In High School, I learned how to weld, design and fabricate items from raw steel---which has helped so much in my field! I went to Wyoming Tech in 1986, Graduating with a Degree in Automotive and Diesel Technology! I have worked in many different types of repair facilities both large and small, gaining a huge base of knowledge from the "Old Guys!"---which I have now become! I haven't always been able to do it all, but I knew that if I was going to be successful I would have to listen and learn from those who had been around the block! I've been a Master Technician since 1990 and have recertified twice now. In the mid 90's I decided that I would have to open my own repair facility after finding that the Dealerships were not the answer I was looking for! So in 1999 Corinna (My Wife!) and I opened our new facility "Top Tech Automotive" offering our customers the areas best base warranty of 2yrs 24,000 miles (PARTS AND LABOR NO B.S!)! Most any shop can Warranty the repair for 6 to 12 months, but to cover the repair and parts for a full two years takes skill and knowledge! PERIOD! I have taken a lot of pride in this and have shown that by taking the time to properly diagnosis, listening to the customer, having the proper tools and equipment, information and data for properly repairing the vehicle, hiring quality personnel and continually upgrading and reinvesting to keep up with the changes----we can cover any repair for a full two years! In less than eight years we have gone from a one hoist shop with 2500 square feet to a multi-location facility with 11 lifts and over 10,000 square feet!

Top tech is awesome! They came through for me at a critical time. The service manager is a sweetheart! The mechanic that worked on my truck is awesome! Thanks Sam you can work on any vehicle that I ever own. The owner was very friendly and down to earth. He has a vast amount of experience and I would like to just say that I am forever grateful for what yall did for me. Before I left I told all of them that I loved them all at top tech. I meant that! They made me feel like the world is not filled with unconcerned people.

If you like bad advice, blown timelines, no regard for budget and will double your estimate without your permission.look no further. If this was the last shop in the world I would sell my vehicles and walk where I need to go. How can you not find me? You had my vehicle for close to a year and charged me $7,000. Last name Zueck

I took my truck here and they told me that it would need a complete engine replacement. This job would cost me 8000 dollars. my truck was under warranty but it only covered 3000. Well some time went by cause without a truck I couldn't work to get the extra 5k. I told them my situation and they said I wouldn't have to pay storage if I got the work done there.
Well aventualy the bank took it with me not working. So they didn't only charge me 2000 for storage fees when the bank took it they got a second opinion and the motor didn't need replaced. It only needed 1500 of repairs that my warranty would of fixed completely. Cause of this shop I lost my truck lost my job and lost my credit. I will be looking into legal action and would highly recommend not ever going here!

These people are the greatest con artist in Billings. They had my car for over a month and did not work on it. They "fixed" my car and then I had to bring it back because they hadn't attached the part correctly which caused more damaged for which they charged. They fleeced me 2,4000 and did not call to talk to ask for my approval, something I would have never approved.
As a college kid I was shocked that there was no call or any update to the car and instead after I had to initiate where my car was, they gave me a massive bill a MONTH after they said they would get it fixed in 2 days. They are liars and I believe to be dishonest.

God places us in the right place at the right time! I needed my muffler put back into my car after it fell out (in the most convenient location possible). I thought I would have to figure out where to get my vehicle towed as I live out of town. AAA recommended this shop and it happened to be right behind me. I made it to the shop safely and was greeted by a mechanic (Jacob) to provide them with my information so they could contact me.
I requested an estimate before any work was done and they adhered to my request. My exchanges with the mechanic and the owner were very professional, polite, and knowledgeable. A+++ The price was fair for the work completed, convenient location, as well as speed of service. This place offers a discount for AAA members. Very nice office and waiting room if you prefer to wait there. Would definitely recommend this place. Thank you so so much!

The absolute biggest shout-out goes to Darren & the crew at Top Tech West Automotive! Long story short, my dad was getting his car fixed and suddenly passed away before he could get it fixed, let alone pay for it. The day after his passing, I called Top tech to let them know and Darren told me he would do everything in his power to help my family and I out and that included waiving the $35 storage fee (per day.) It's been a month today so that has saved our family roughly $1000.
That's not even the best part. We decided to get my dads car fixed and called to get pricing. Tony, the receptionist, was so sincere and helpful, gave me all of the information I needed and was relieved to tell me that they decided to donate all of the labor costs, saving us hundreds of more dollars. I couldn't help but cry and thank them for everything they've done. They've made a rough time for my family just a little bit easier. They are all about giving back, so if you need your car fixed, please give them a call.

Brought in my 1990 Dodge B250 to have my fuel pump replaced, the owner was VERY accommodating to the situation and helped me get back on road to continue my traveling in no time. Sam was the primary one who worked on my vehicle and was absolutely wonderful. He kept me informed throughout the process, even took me in the back of the shop to give me a full understanding of how everything was getting done and to show me the condition of everything else underneath the van. Wholesome and honest mechanics, would recommend to anyone that's in need of auto repair

They are excellent mechanics! I had another shop that I paid for work that wasn't done, and that created other problems I guess they thought I was gullible enough to keep going back. Top tech fixed all the problems and were extremely honest about what needed done, and what they were doing. I was referred by a nephew who was a mechanic here in Billings and I am glad he told me about them!

It is difficult to find a quality, trustworthy mechanic. It is even harder when you are in need of service thousands of miles from home. Darin not only squeezed us in last minute but provided amazing service and expertise. The price was fair and he even helped us find some local off-roading trails to play on. Darin went above and beyond when we called him weeks after service just to ask his opinion on changes we wanted to make on our jeep. To top it all off this is a Vet owned and operated business. I wish we lived closer!

Darin and his help are great guys! They have got me out of the woods more than once with my automotive needs. Darin even had me bring it back after a few weeks just to make sure everything was going well with the repair. This place is a great place honest and hard working! And don’t forget to bring your 12 cans of donation food for a discount! If your in a pinch they go above and beyond to get you back on the road! Shout out to Darin thanks for all your help man!

My dad and I had driven into Yellowstone National Park when my rear breaks started making noises. We turned around and headed back to Billings. The lady at our hotel's front desk recommended top tech. I called after 6PM on a Saturday evening and got the owner, he told me to bring my car to his shop. He confirmed that I needed new rear breaks and explained that he's not technically open on Sundays unless it's urgent.
The labor is double time as well. At that point cost didn't matter because I needed to be back in Minneapolis on Tuesday for work. Daren went above and beyond to get us back on the road. All of the necessary parts were readily available and the job took less than four hours to complete. Daren took the time to explain exactly what went wrong with the rear breaks and he explained everything he did to fix them. Daren even bagged up the old parts so I could take them into the Toyota dealer who "checked"my breaks before we headed to Montana.
I could tell he was as miffed as I was over the Toyota dealers "break check." Daren truly saved us from being stranded in Billings until Tuesday. I highly recommended Daren and his team. Billings has a gem of a mechanic.

I was traveling through town and my car was acting up. Darrin got me in right away and fixed my car so that it was dependable for the rest of my trip. Since then I have used him for all my vehicle and appreciate him getting me on right away and fixing the problem in a timely manner. He also works with the financial aspect and giving breaks in my bill. Thank you!

Hurts to leave such a negative review, but I have no choice. DISHONEST AND OVERCHARGES! Smile to your face, stab you in the back. Quoted $2300 for a blown head gasket, walked out paying $6000! Took over 3 weeks and still came out incomplete and charged for things they never did!. Also I was never notified of the insanely growing price. You will bring you car in for one thing and Darrin will call you later with "oh we found this" list suggesting you should fix everything he "finds".
This would be good if coming from an honest shop. Heard him doing it to others on the phone in the waiting room. Not surprised to hear many others stories of, for example my old boss, being quoted $300 for radiator repair and paying $900 when its done. I got stranded on the side of the road (In a snow storm) because they never bothered to re- connect the positive lead on my alternator. Charged for work not preformed, charged for front rotors to be resurfaced and down the road (less than 2,000 miles.) had to get them replaced.
The brake shop that replaced them said they were never resurfaced, just new brake pads. They even gave me a written statement for legal purposes putting their name on the line because they were that sure! Darrin has completely blown me off after I contacted him about this. He has poorly trained apprentices doing most of the work but charges you top dollar.
His excuse for ducking my calls and emails was he just had to fire someone. wonder why! Sadly we will have to waste time when we are back in MT to deal with litigation and having every repair checked by a non biased mechanic for court. Great bathroom and waiting room he built with all this stolen money though! Oh and he insists on you giving 5 star reviews and is near extortment levels about it so I would not trust some of the reviews on here.

Women beware this guy is a rip off. He will tell you one thing and then do another. He quotes you a price and then adds to it as he goes. I was made aware by my daughter who he quoted $400 for brake work and then doubled it to $800 he also quoted her $39 for an oil change and when he was done it was $70 Consider yourself warned.

I cannot recommend Top Tech Automotive highly enough!!!! First class, attention to detail, and Darin is one of the nicest folks I've met in this great state!!!!! Very informative...they show you the parts removed/replaced and really take time to educate you on your car and how it should function! Darin certainly goes above and beyond the call of duty!
And the shop is super clean. Very warm...like a nice cabin with leather couches, fireplace, snacks, sodas, dog treats, big screen tv...got to watch the Clemson/South Carolina game this evening in style!!! I've found my "shop" here in Billings!!!

Great place all the way around. Service was fantastic they got my car first thing in the morning and worked on it tell after hours so me and my daughter could be back on the road. The place is very homie inside and very relaxing with a t.v. and couches to relax for your car. There very informative and kind and were telling me any time there was a problem and what it was.

Top Tech did an amazing job at fixing up my truck. They really went above and beyond for my family so that we made it to California to visit family safely and with no problems. 2 days after getting home i had to take a business trip to Saskatoon Canada and once again it performed flawlessly. Darin and the guys working there are great at what they do and really gave me the impression that they are there to help and not take advantage of the gullible.
I did not take my vehicle in for just the routine maintenance either. I was having tons of issues with my 4x4 as well as i had blown a CV joint and had a transmission leak b/c of the gasket on the pan going bad. They fixed this with some other issues that came up (including some shoddy work a previous mechanic did). Darin went so far as to take my vehicle over to dodge and have them verify the work that top tech did free of charge. This to me was just amazing and i could not have been more pleased with the service. Thank you Darin and the guys at top tech from the Nunley Family!

Top tech has been by far the best mechanic service we ever got! They took care of our car as quick as they could and got us going back on the road and made our way back to wyoming in a short time! Worked on the car in 2 hours and we went on our way! I would reccomend!! TOP TECH IS AWESOME!! Darren and his guys had great customer service, super friendly and made us comfortable to be there. Im not big to write reviews but i had to give these guys one because the amount of great service they gave us. Definitely a 5 star!

Professional, courteous, fast, affordable. After calling around, their price was absolutely fair and they were honest in their assessment. I left a little humbled by how kind the staff were and how they went above and beyond to help me out, as I traveled through the city and needed a quick fix. Treated me like family. Kept me updated in the status of my car as I waited comfortably on a large sofa in the front room. They had me on my way, and I will keep them in my list of contacts going foreword.
