I went to the Audi dealership to get some repairs done on my 2014 Audi Q5 TDI. There were some concerns they brought up and wanted to charge me over $5,000 in repairs. I asked a friend to make a recommendation, and he hands down stated A&B. I've been there 3-4 times now, with routing maintenance, fixes to some of my suspension, and even checking on an annoyingly loud high-frequency noise at certain speeds and loads (acceleration/deceleration).

After doing some diagnosing, they weren't really able to come up with a problem, but aided in trying to help figure it out on their own as well. Some research found that it was a failing rear differential. They couldn't find one without dipping into my life savings and buying a new one. We found one at a local wrecking yard, and they installed it within 1 day.

They also balanced my tires and found a taco-style dent in one of my rear rims, and made sure it was counterbalanced to reduce vibration on the freeway. These guys took care of my care, knowing that it was my baby, and made sure it was treated like it was their own. One of the techs had the exact same TDI as I do, which is kind of rare. Knowing my care was in the right hands was all I needed, and I'll continue to go back as long as I have this car!

Absolutely horrible service. paid $1800 at first to get car fixed broke down within 2 days. man named Garret was more concerned with "selling us why" an older car has problems than helping us fix our problems. we paid another $800 to have something else fixed. drove car for less than 10 miles check engine light already on. they said we are one of the only German mechanics around implying what else are your options take it or leave it. hi highly recommend you people go anywhere else. bunch of crooks with no integrity in there work

Had my car for 3 weeks and still not able to figure out what was wrong with it. Had it towed to another shop and they had it running in 2 days. I called to get some restitution for being charged over $600 for a new battery, spark plugs, and intake boot. Mike the owner stood by his charges and would not provide any relief. Shame because I've been taking 4 of my BMW's there over the years but this time left a foul taste in my mouth.

A & B German Car Care are the best in the region. Mike the owner and Garrett - who handles all customers - are top notch professionals. They have done all the routine services on my VW, and when I had specific issues they put the time in to find the problem, they called my warranty company and handled everything, saving me time and $$. Mike is a lifelong German car fan and expert, and you can see that he and all his team take pride doing a good job. Their prices are fair for good quality service. Cannot recommend too highly! (Was recommended by nearby Red Sun Toyota, who are great for Japanese cars btw.)

I was calling around trying to find a shop to work on my wife's 79 VW bus. Garrett called me back immediately and politely informed me that his shop doesn't work on air-cooled vehicles that old. But he recommended another shop for me that does. I told him that calling me back was huge because he took the time out of his busy day to call a "non-customer" back to tell them "NO". That shows me that even tho I'm not a customer of A & B German Car Care, they still show respect and care about people. Very cool move Garrett. Good Job!

I brought my wife's 2012 GTI because of hesitation during acceleration, and the check engine light being on. They did the diagnosis and did all the repairs, but unfortunately, I had to return it because the same symptoms came back. They did another diagnosis and did some additional repairs. Yes, they missed another problem during their initial diagnosis, but that's OK with me - you simply can't catch all the problems the first time every time.

What matters to me is that they did honor their warranty commitment and did the additional repairs free of charge (except for parts). In addition, Garrett ( the man at the counter) informed me that the rear brake pads were getting close to its end of life cycle. I asked him if the front pads needs replacing as well, which he then informed me that the front brakes are still good. That's honesty that I really appreciated. Anyway, I am happy with their work and really appreciate their honesty. Pricing is average, but still cheaper than the dealer. Another plus is they were true with their words to get the repairs done at the time they promised. Highly recommended.

Brought my BMW X5 in when check engine light came on. Vehicle was in need of some minor repairs that were performed in a timely manner and initial estimate was updated to me when issue was determined. Found all the employees I dealt with to be truly professional and will definitely be returning again if needed. Nice to have a shop that I can feel has treated me with honesty and excellent work!

No one should ever go here. Cheats.! I have been charged twice for the same service and I gave them one more opportunity but still the same. The guy just want to make money and is not in the business of taking care of car problems. Horrible service.!

There has been no other place I have found in sacramento that offers the expertise and service in a wide variety of German cars that they do here. I have came here for 4 years with 2 different Audi's. A 2008 A4 and a 2013 Q5. The help that Mike has given me over the years is second to none. He knows the specific areas inside each generation of engine, turbo system and transmission to not just tell you what is going on but why and what they do differently to help solve those problems to give new levels of reliability to German vehicles. They genuinely care about you and it shows in the way they work with you as a team to help your car stay on the road reliably and perform well.

What an awful experience. I brought a car here for a pre purchase inspection (PPI). Talking to the shop Friday about my Monday appointment, I asked what time they would need it so I could decide if I should wait or find a ride home. They told me it needed to be there by 9:00am but had no ETA, or even general window, of when it would be done. I called around 1:00pm and they hadn't even touched it.

Why did I need to be there by 9:00am? Finally, at 4:00pm, I got a call it was done and had to figure out how to get back there within the hour since they closed at 5:00pm and the car needed to be gone. Nice to see they have zero appreciation for customers' time and only worry about their own. Next, they told me the vehicle (2002 BMW 325ci Convertible) had an inoperable power top, yet it's a manual top version.

Both were available as an option in this year and any BMW VIN decoder would tell you this as well as the fact that there is only one button to release the top versus the standard two that are part of all power top models. Upon bringing this to their attention, they quickly back peddled and said the top had been "converted" from a power top to manual. Umm, unlikely.

Just admit you were wrong. Confidence that they know what they're doing. decreasing quickly. They diagnosed an oil leak on the car, yet gave several very different options on where it was coming from. Um, you're getting paid to be specific. Anyone can see oil on the underside of the engine and guess a ton of random places it could be coming from.

Why are you getting paid for this? Finally, the front desk person (Terrence?) who was generally rude and quite pompous the entire time, went ahead and gave his opinion about what the car was worth (about half of its actual value). Glad to see the front desk lackey here is now taking it upon himself to become a vehicle pricing expert with no qualifications or experience.

How do I know? Because I've been a vehicle valuator, and trained dozens of successful vehicle valuators, for the largest used car dealership in the country for nearly 10 years. All in all, I have little confidence this shop completed a good PPI nor do I have any confidence they care about their customers in general. Rather, they are one of few Euro indie shops in the area and people probably have few choices besides the dealer which is the only reason they have been as "successful" as they have been.

Stick to being mechanics and stop giving your uninformed and unqualified opinion about vehicle values. Also, at least pretend like you appreciate your customers and their time and quit acting like the epitome of BMW drivers.

I bought a used car from a dealer in Folsom and they had to get some things fixed through A&B, and my experience them was nothing but positive! They ended up having to outsource to BMW of Roseville but made it is a seamless for me as possible. I even got my car back CLEAN. Definitely plan on going through any future repairs through them!

Life savers! We are loyal customers for life! We had been loyal customers to another Rocklin/Roseville auto shop for years. We have 4 cars two of which are Jetta's. In October the other shop said we had blown a head gasket and subsequently charged us $2200 for work they said was required. Fast forward to December, when we took our other Jetta in because the cooling liquid was low.

That other Rocklin/Roseville shop said it also needed a new head gasket but this time was going to cost "a minimum of $3200" with no explanation on why same car 2 years newer would cost more 2 months later. Insult to injury the other shop charged us $290 to do the diagnosis. So we took it to A&B German Auto. This honest shop not only ran tests and told us that there was nothing wrong with our car but waived the $75 testing fee. These guys have earned their Karma for the year and a customer for life. Stay away from My Auto Surgeon in Roseville/Rocklin.

Our car was having some very weird engine issues. One Audi dealership and one independent garage in the bay area failed to make a diagnostics. They wanted thousands of dollars to open the engine. A&B German Car Care just put a camera inside a cylinder and was able to quickly diagnose our problem. I cant understand why the others did not do this first but I am so glad I followed recommendations to bring our car to them. They are super friendly, understood our constraints and worked with us to find a solution. I will definitely visit again!

I was having a hard time finding a shop to take my VW to since the warranty ran out. I had major problems so I asked around and A&B german car care came highly recommended. I went by the shop to check it out and spoke to G . Je assured me they could take care of my issues. The shop was busy but extremely clean . I also spoke with Mike (I think he is the owner) and he made me feel like family.

I didnt feel rushed or under educated at all. There is a little bit of a wait to get in but it was well worth it. They are VERY reasonable and have excellent customer service
I wont take my car anywhere else.

My Audi Q5 had started smelling like gas so I took it to a dealership to get a quick diagnose and I've decided to bring it to A&B German Car Care. I do not regret it at all I should have bought the parts on my own but didn't have the time. Their rates are pretty fair and I'm glad to find a European car repair since I moved from the Bay Area. I do recommend and will bring it back for more services in the future! The guys here are great and knowledgeable!

I took my Audi here to change my breaks the price was high but still went with it, a few days later my car starts squeaking again I call them t to tell them they did say to bring is by, but having only one car and having to work and pick up and drop off and then not offering service on weekends made it almost impossible to get it to the shop so I was finally able to take it for them to o the tell me I need new breaks I really don't recommend

I was referred to A & B by good friends that were having similar issues with their kids car and gave them a call. I called on Thursday and they got me in first thing Monday morning. If you have a German car, and want exemplary service look no further! The guys are A & B are wonderful to work with. We took in a 2002 BMW 325i that need work done, and explained it was for my 16 year old son, and that we needed it to be as affordable as possible! They made that happen! I dealt most with Garret and Mike (the owner) and could not be more pleased with the service received!

Mike and his Team are the best around. They continue to take great care of my 2008 3 Series. I am so thankful for the amazing work and level of care I receive when I take my car in. As an added bonus, Mike always goes out of his way to make sure I understand my repairs and what work they're doing. Being a woman with limited car knowledge, Mike never makes me feel intimidated or uncertain about the work they're doing. I can't say enough great things about my experiences here and will continue to bring my car in for years to come.

I had my car serviced four times at A&B, so I feel my review is not an isolated incident. Each time I took my car here, more mechanical issues mysteriously pops up. I just had my control arm bushings done by my previous mechanic (he had to relocate to Southern California). A&B told me it needed to be replaced because the previous install was not done correctly and it was "falling apart".

I asked how long could I drive it. A&B said it will cause damage to my control arm if I waited too long. About a week later I was back to get the bushings done. Fast forward ten weeks later, my sunroof wouldn't close so I thought I established a good enough relationship with this shop that they might be able to help me. For almost $300 they closed (not fix) the sunroof, it was not a full close, there was about 1/4 inch gap.

Still I paid thinking I was building a good relation with this shop. I was surprised at checkout because they told me my control arm needed to be replaced. First, I only paid to close the sunroof, and find out they are creeping around my car for whatever reasons. Second, I replaced the bushings like A&B recommended and now I have to replace the control arm too? Yes, it was my fault that I took my car here to begin with and it was my fault again that I took it back for the replacement of my control arm.

Fast forward another 18 months (and less than 10,000 miles later), I have to replace both bushings again. My current mechanic showed me the parts, and says that it is not less than 2 years old (he suggested much older than 2 years old). I'll leave the readers to make their own conclusions. I spent more than $1,500+ between the four visits. The bushings and control arm was about $700, which I strongly believe was never replaced.

I paid for $300 for a half-closed sunroof. A thousand questionable dollars spent. I did not bother to come back and complain, because they probably would only suggest to bring my car back (which is something I vow to never do again). If I didn't take my car to another mechanic, I would not have known how much A&B was draining my wallet. If you are a current A&B customer, I recommend getting a second and third opinion before authorizing any work on your car. If you're a new customer, look on Yelp and call at least a couple of shops so you can price compare, etc. I hope this review helps all parties involved.

Mike has been taking care of me and my family for several years and as long as me or my wife have German cars, this is where we will be taking them, even though we live in Sacramento now. They provide quick, efficient service and don't charge you out the nose. You get the expertise of name-brand, dealership mechanics without the drastic markup. Previously, I owned a 2008 BMW 550 which had its fair share of problems. Thankfully, I had Mike and the A & B staff to handle those problems and help me avoid costly repairs I'd likely incurred by taking it to a BMW dealership. If you own a German car, and are in need of a mechanic, Mike and Jeff will take good care of you.

Yup. He's great until you get too comfortable then he starts to rip you off. For someone who has been in the biz for so long, problems should start to sound familiar with cars. In the beginning of our relationship, he pinpointed the problem right away. As years passed, it became."I don't know. We'll have to look at it closer." In the end, he supposedly fixed something worth $900. 2 weeks later, the same problem occurred.

He then said oh yeah that only cost $250. What?!? He never apologized. He never offered to return my money. Instead, he took more money. In the end, I got smarter. I contacted the dealership. I told them the problem I've been having. They told me exactly what Mike charged the $250 for, not the $900 bill. So be careful. Don't get too comfortable. Be smarter.

I am very picky about my car (it wasn't cheap) and I can trust Mike and the gang to take care of it the way it should be. They understand how I am and respect my concerns. That goes a long way with me

I called Mike from the side of the road while waiting for a tow truck to get to me, I've never been in the shop before, but he's worked on my car prior to me purchasing it so that's how I knew of him. He set me up in the system for auto text message updates, and promised to get me answers as quickly as possible. He and his team delivered, they were able to figure out my issue, repair it and have me back on the road the same day and he went out of his way to make it affordable. Gave me some tips and items to watch that could be an issue but over all don't need to be replaced now.

I have to say.. so many service people for German cars treat our time and wallets as if they are endless, I appreciate every step A & B did, from the quick responses, text service updates to keep people informed, and the reasonable fees. Thanks Mike and A & B German Car Care!

I cant say enough good things about this shop. Because i absolutely ABUSE my BMW on a daily basis i have spent a lot of time in this shop and Mike has continuously been overly helpful, friendly, and will answer any questions i have. They do amazing work, dont cut corners, but will also let you know how the car is coming throughout the entire process not leaving you wondering if my car is even being worked on. Mike will go over and beyond and tell you if theres anything else with the car that needs to addressed soon.

His prices are extremely competitive and for the quality of service your getting makes it well worth it. Thank you Mike for all your help, you definitely have a customer for life!

It can be tough to find a shop you can trust to take care of your vehicle maintenance, especially if you're new to the area. That's the dilemma I faced recently when my RV developed a problem somewhere deep inside the mysterious computer controlled electrical system. I settled on A&B German Car Care in Rocklin after wading through their mostly positive reviews on Yelp.

It was a gamble that paid off. From the immaculate shop to the knowledge of the technicians I couldn't have been more impressed. I couldn't recommend them more. They're fair, friendly and most important, trustworthy. You can't go wrong with the fellows at A&B!

Mike and his team are simply fantastic! His team has done excellent work on my BMW and I couldn't be happier. He recently did a little work on a different vehicle and again, great job! Thanks Mike.

Mike was super friendly and helpful! My VW Golf had a rare but bad repair that needed to be fixed asap! I wasn't expecting to have the options of doing a night drop off and picking up after hours. Especially with my busy work and school schedule, Mike made this very easy for me. He treated my car like if it was his own. My car is working great again and I now know who to go to for future repairs! (knock on wood) (: Very thankful and would definitely recommend! Thank you Mike!

I've been taking my C Class to Brian for a couple of years. Now my husband takes his to Brian. The first time he brought it down there, Brian looked at it and said, "As much as I'd love to take your money, your car doesn't need anything and you've got another couple hundred miles before it needs service." All the staff are wonderful and people you can really trust. Thank you Brian, Mike and Jayne for being there when we need you.

Mike is the Man! He has taken care of my daughters cars for years. He helped bandage up an old Jetta and keep it on the road when it actually needed to be put out to pasture. She now has a safe reliable car and we wouldn't trust anyone else to work on it. He's honest and runs his business with integrity.

I feel so thankful for the service and help beyond the call of duty that I have received from Mike and his insightful thorough knowledge of my car. My steering wheel sensor went out and the car had to be towed in. The cost fell below the original estimate and the service has been excellent. I feel very confident about their work. My dad was a car genius and I know enough to understand when I meet another car genius. I would highly recommend A & B German Car Care to all my friends and family.

Just wanted to give A&B German Car Care a BIG thumbs up. Best service and customer care I have ever had. I love this place. Mike takes time to explain what's going on with your car and will work hard to find the best prices on the parts you need to fix your car. I highly recommend this place to get your German car fixed.
