Motorcycle towing is no simple matter. Since they cannot be pulled along unsupported, motorcycles are much harder to load onto a tow truck than other types of vehicles. Took 5 minutes to answer the phone. That wasn't the reasoning for the 1 star. Gentleman that answered the phone hung up on me when I said my car was in a parking garage and said, verbatim " I don't have anybody that can go into a parking garage" then immediately hung up before I could even ask about other options. Terrible customer service. Could've moved the car out of the parking garage myself and they would've had a client. Give your money and time to other local companies in Austin that value their clientel.

Had two blowouts 4 miles away from This shop. after giving credit card information and BEING CHARGED for the tow before my car when was loaded. I was told 30 minutes. 30 minutes goes by and nothing still so I called them back and now it's another HOUR and A HALF before arrival. I sat on hold for about 20 minutes before finally just canceling, tried to ask for a confirmation number and the guy literally hung up on me. Don't waste your time or $$$

NEVER AGAIN. The driver was fast and polite, and everything WAS going well until we got to the price. I was very clearly quoted $59 for the truck to come out there and between $35 & $75 for a service/labor fee. I'm thinking, cool, that's reasonable because my car was dead, not damaged in any way, and i was less than a quarter of a mile from my apartment.
The tow guy hitches it up, is super nice, drops it off at my apartment (probably 10 mins total) and then tells me it's going to be $134 with cash or $144 with card. I am obviously confused because the job seemed simple and quick, and I was expecting to pay around $100, if not less than that for the job. The driver shows me a text about my car that clearly states the $59 fee + the max quoted $75 fee for towing already decided for my car.
And then they tacked on a $10 cc fee that I wasn't told about when I called. When I called initially, I asked for a very detailed and clear estimate (there is a recording where you can hear me asking) and was told point-blank that it was dependent on the tech and how much work it took to do the job and that he decided what the service fee was going to be.
So I was straight up LIED to by the dispatcher and the manager tried to explain it away by using a recording where you could CLEARLY hear the dispatcher lying to me to justify charging me so much money to tow my car walking distance to my apartment. This was not just shady, this was dishonest business and I was lied to and stolen from by Rick's. I will not be returning and I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.

Called for a tow and was told the driver was on the way. Cut to 45 minutes later and no driver. I call them back and they have no clue what's going on. Eventually find out that the driver was having trouble with his truck and no other drivers were in the area. You didn't think to relay that information to your customer? I cancelled my towing request immediately. Do not try to get a tow from this company. It's expensive and unreliable.

I left my lights on, and ran down my battery. The next morning the car wouldn't turn over. I called Rick's, and although I had to wait, because it was rush hour, the Rick's tech, Raphael, was polite, professional, and started my car in no time, once he arrived. The price was reasonable, and was quoted to me in advance without my asking. Very professional operation. I put their number in my cell phone, in case I have future trouble.

Ouch, expensive. To jump start my car on a Sunday it was about $100. That said, they were courteous, timely and efficient. I called to set up the service, the service dude called me back about 10 minutes to give me an ETA (20-25 min). Service dude called when he arrived (it was at Auditorium Shores) and i navigated him to my downed vehicle. Car was jumped in a couple of minutes and I was on my way. THANKS!

Warning, dont take your car to this place it is a rip off. I took my car for coolant hose change, the mechanic did avery bad job as of the other shop Mechanic explained to me. The car starts leaking from the same hose and he said it was not that hose, but it was the same hose and refuse to refund my money. I paid twice for the same problem and wast my time. The other shop did realy good job and did also the pressure test on the coolant system.

If I could give these jerks a negative score, I would. But I had to at least give them one star to write a review. I called this company to request a quote and they hung up on me and said they do not provide a service. I called again to find out why the service was not provided and if they could recommend someone, again they hung up on me. Then I called back to speak to a manager about how rude they were and they said there are no managers.
I asked to speak to an owner and they said there are no owners and hung up on me again. These people are rude and I have no idea how they got these five star reviews. That's actually why I called, I thought they have such good reviews I guess this is a good company to provide my business to - and nothing they are jerks! They probably wrote those reviews themselves.

Finding auto assistance that is both reliable and at a decent rate is tough, especially when you don't have a go to mechanic, thankfully this place really made me feel at ease. I was stuck dealing with the embarrassing situation of getting my broken down, piece of junk car towed. Extremely helpful, friendly and easy to deal with, I'm glad I took a chance on these guys and I'll be back when I need repair work in the future.
They even showed up earlier than the expected time of arrival that they gave me. I loved the reasonable price offered for the tow, I was worried I'd really have to dish out to get my car moved but it all worked out fine, I asked about other services offered and what the prices were, everything seemed like a really nice deal, especially considering the high level of work you'll get. I'd recommend these guys highly!

Rick's Auto Repair & Towing in Austin is a great resource for both repairs and towing. They have great prices for repair work and labor as well as towing services both during the day and after hours. Finding 24/7 assistance that is reliable and a fair price is awesome! I had our old family escort break down late on a Friday evening. The tow arrived quicker than I would have expected and they were able to look over the car the next day. Repairs were completed quickly and with a degree of honesty that you often do not find in repair shops. They also have a great website that is easy to navigate.

I've never had a go-to mechanic, but Rick's is definitely a great contender. They were recommended to me by a friend, which was thankfully right before my car broke down. I called and they had a tow truck out there before I could die in the heat. The guy was courteous, helpful and efficient, and my car was back on the road within hours. The shop explained to me what had happened in terms that I could understand, and felt like they didn't try to push a bunch of extra services while they were at it. I'd definitely suggest them.

I'm incredibly impressed with Rick's. The staff was friendly and competent, not at all condescending. They took care of my car and didn't gouge me. I've had bad experiences in the past with different garages. I always felt like I was getting gouged. Not the case at all at Rick's. I'll definitely return!

Thank you, guys, for literally saving my day! I was leaving the house for an important meeting when I realized that my keys were locked in the car. A neighbor told me to call Austin Towing Services. They promptly sent out a pleasant locksmith who immediately identified the high security lock type, gave me a fair and reasonable quote, and then quickly unlocked my car without damaging the door’s complicated wiring.

Last month, a large truck swerved into my lane on the Loop 360, causing enormous damage to the passenger side of my car. I was lucky to have escaped this serious accident unharmed, and lucky to have called Austin Towing Services as soon as I realized that I would have to be towed to a body shop. The dispatcher was extremely helpful, staying on the line with me until the tow truck arrived ten minutes later.
The driver was understanding and kind, explaining that these things happen and encouraging me to see a doctor even though I felt all right. He towed my car to the nearest body shop and stayed with me until the paperwork was filled out. Thank you, Austin Towing!
