I recently took in my car which needed way more work than I anticipated. The bill got expensive but the guys did a ton of work and now she drives like a beaut - very smooth! For all they did, I think they were very fair and I am very happy with the result.

We have been here a few times. they are pretty reasonable. when we had a car broken down, we had AAA to tow our car here and found a lot of people having their car towed here for repairs

Left the car at the night drop for unscheduled next day oil, tire and climate control repair (broken blender door) and front brake work - no appointment. Auto service was fast, friendly and competent - at a reasonable price. Dealer had quoted "about $500" for the climate control work that Hollenshade's did for just under $250. Brake job and oil change were competitively priced compared to other garages. Happy with the service will return.

My all-wheel drive car needed a set of 4 tires and the team at Hollenshades did a great job. They provided me honest opinions as I was considering a few brand options. Their price was better than a tire store in Carney. The installation was fast and the office staff was professional. Will be returning for scheduled maintenance. Service: Tires

I have been going to Hollenshades for service fore a number of years. That alone is an endorsement. They are local, professional, and very friendly. I believe John, and others are honestly always trying to expedite great service. Their charges are very fair, and definitely less inflated than going to a dealership. I trust and appreciate their advice and the information I receive along with any estimate or repair that's done, and the printout of service is easy to understand. I think they are terrific.

I drive over to Hollenshade's from Cockeysville for all of my auto maintenance and repairs. Been doing it for over a decade. They've earned my trust and business over the years with their clear-cut honesty, earnest service, good nature, and fair pricing. This is THE place to get work done in your car. They are straightforward and have always been honest with the work they do on your vehicle. They always give you a rundown before doing any work to your car before they begin. They give their professional opinion while remaining fair and respectful. They keep meticulous details on any history of work done for your vehicles and they are extremely reliable.

Hollenshades continues to be one of the best auto repair shops in Maryland. If you need an oil change and tire rotation you do not need an appointment-- I stopped by around 7:30 am this morning to get my Subaru Crosstrek serviced after over a YEAR of no oil change due to low mileage. There is a covered and enclosed waiting area that they have installed just outside the shop office.

This is comfy but I miss sitting in the crowded office and getting to hear Tom & John kibbitz, negotiate, and kvetch. They are really good at keeping the constant stream of customers and cars moving in and out of the Hollenshades parking lot. AND, they provide amazing customer service. I cannot say enough kind things about Hollenshades-- this is top-notch car care from seasoned professionals! Thanks so much, guys, I'll be back! :-

A Neighborhood Landmark! My Daddy took his car to Hollenshade's from the time I was a little girl in the 1960s & 70s. I continues to use them as an adult. I moved to Nashville a few years back and I WISH they were here. So hard to find good work, honesty and great service any more!

It's not often that you come across a friendly and honest mechanic at this level. These guys are always very responsive and straight up. The shop is clean and COVID safe. I highly recommend them.

So I had walked in to this place years ago and truly felt like my business was unwanted. Based on the reviews, I thought I would try again. I called first and the person who answered the phone was cordial enough and asked questions about the problems with my car, so I went in to discuss as advised. The person at the desk was curt and rude! He threw a card at me before I could even finish speaking and directed me to another shop.

I went to the other shop and the guy there was visibly perplexed and said the work could have been completed at this shop. He then quickly put his head down stopped talking. My suspicions were confirmed. So I guess the level of respect and service one is afforded at this place is solely dependent on the Color of your SKIN! Fine with me because if I and my money are not valued, I will surely go elsewhere. He will NEVER get a dime of my money! If I could give 0 stars I would!

Very Honest Mechanics! Although they were unable to service my older model Truck. I appreciate the honesty which kept me from waiting my time

I had a heck of a time at another mechanic. Hollenshade's character and honesty will have me coming back for life! I had a very poor experience at another mechanic shop. They incorrectly replaced a tire and broke off the sensor. How did they fix it? Duct tape (see photo below). I went to Hollenshade's because I knew something wasn't right.

I didn't know the tire looked like this until Hollenshade's took a look. John and another mechanic showed me the previous mechanic work. This is where Hollenshade's character shined. While John and the mechanic were showing me, at no point did they bad mouth or accuse the previous mechanic of crappy work. They could have. Honestly, the mechanic probably deserved it.

But they didn't. They remained professional and respectful, even in the little things. I cannot day enough about this business! Thanks for always demonstrating professionalism, respect, and honest work.

A truly outstanding service establishment. I think I originally found them through Click & Clack's website. I've been taking my vehicles to H since moving to Towson decades ago. I would not consider doing anything else including patronizing the dealership unless it was a recall part issue. I find them consistently clear and straightforward in addition to being reliably good, honest, fair and trustworthy. I couldn't ask for more. Michael B.

My first visit today for an oil change based on previous Yelp reviews and I was very pleased with the courtesy and service performed. I drive a 2006 Volvo wagon and was assured they could handle most repairs. I will definitely return and you should give them a try. Btw the time I spent in the waiting area quite a few customers came in and where greeted on a first name basis so they must have a dedicated customer base as well.

Hollenshade's recently replaced both of my front axles and while there, I mentioned we were headed on a road trip. They checked my oil and tires among various fluids and completed an overall preventative maintenance check. I had the oil changed and I was out of there within 2.5 hours. One can tell they take pride in their work with a a high degree of integrity which is difficult to find these days. I'm definitely headed back for future auto service needs

Absolutely, the best place in Maryland to take your vehicle. I have been taking my vehicles there for a long time. I have also referred multiple people over that time, never have I had one complaint. Those people are now life time customers. They are honest in everything thing they do. They are always straight forward with you and will never charge you for something that you don’t need.

You will not go wrong taking your vehicle there. Between Timmy, Tom, John and the rest of the crew you will be hard pressed to find better people. They say all a man has is his word, and I will give you my word, you will not go wrong taking your vehicle there.

Took my truck there the other day and got the best service I’ve had. Fell in love with my little truck again because it’s driving like the day I bought it.
