Rod Cayko began his career in the Transmission Repair business while still in high school. He worked after school and summers doing whatever tasks needed. He quickly matriculated thru the ranks of Transmssion Remove and Replace Technician, then into head transmission rebuilder of the shop. In 1981, he opened his own shop in a two bay garage. Within a year he had outgrown the shop with equipment and customers, and moved to his present 4000 sq ft location at 6280 N. Govt. Way. Rod prides himself on staying technically aware of all the latest repair techniques and electronic diagnosis necessary to repair todays automobiles.

Rod's Transmission is top notch in service after the sale. I had to have my transmission replaced and they took the time to explain the process, the cost and what to expect. They finished on time and in budget and have taken the time to answer my questions after the sale. I would certainly recommend Rod's Transmission.

I'd give more stars if there were more to give. Both Rod and Isaac are great to deal with. They will educate you on the very complicated and complex automatic transmission. My recently purchased older (1995) motorhome developed a leak which I knew wasn't normal. Upon inspection, they found issues deep within the guts of the beast. They showed me what was wrong, recommended the fix plus improvements to the factory specs, provided an estimate - that they adhered to - and rebuilt it I'm sure the way they would have done if it was their own vehicle.
During the process, another unrelated issue arose that they informed me of, took time to diagnose and fix. After telling me it was complete, Rod took time to take me on a "road test" to show and explain how the new improvements made my rig much better. Rod has been in business since 1981 for a very good reason - he's an honest business man that does exemplary work. I do not hesitate to recommend him and his business and will see him again if/when I need.

After telling me it was complete, Rod took time to take me on a "road test" to show and explain how the new improvements made my rig much better. I am very thankful for Rod and his team of professionals! I am a manager of a independent quick lube in new Mexico. My son lives near rods shop. I travelled to Idaho to work on my son's brake system and found that job complete a few hours from hoping on the plane home. During the test drive I noticed a severe lack of power and the transmission codes showing on the scanner.
As I had no idea where to go for help I turned to internet reviews. After dropping of the car unannounced to rod, he and I began to communicate via phone. He quickly fit in our job and within a few days diagnosed the problem to a minor fuse issue. Wow let me tell you people that honest trustworthy people in our industry are few and far between. Rod and his team are the best option in northern Idaho!!

July 3rd I was headed out to run errands and immediately I lost my power steering and all the lights in my dash went on. I knew I needed to get somewhere fast before I was on the side of the road looking at a towing bill. I knew Rods was close by so I drove there and upon turning off my car it died. I went in and talked to Issac and since it was coming up on a long 4th of July weekend he said that he could check it out but it may not be that day.
As I had no transportation he gave me a ride home. A couple hours later I received a call from him and he had checked my car out and had the problem diagnosed. He ordered the parts and within 3 hours my car was fixed and he called to let me know it was done. He asked if I needed a ride back and came to pick me up. I was beyond grateful to have my car back before the long weekend.
