Nathan started his automotive experience early on. He was a honor graduate from the U.S Army's wheel vehicle mechanic's course. He is an avid hunter and target shooter, and is quite accomplished with a compound bow. Nathan is a life member in the NRA and enjoys attending Heartland Church with his wife Joni. Amanda, his daughter, lives in So. Elgin, IL, was recently married to Kurt Kies.
After leaving the army he worked several years as a tool and die maker building hydraulic pumps for the U.S. Navy. Combining his love for cars with the experience he gained in hydraulics, it was an easy transition into working on transmissions. Nathan also leads the shop in diagnostics and service writing. Stop by the shop anytime as he loves to meet new people.

I had my transmission replaced in a Honda Accord a few weeks back and I'm so glad that this business was recommended to me. The price was the best in town and the staff was very friendly and professional, they found me a quality transmission with a warranty that couldn't be matched. I recommend this place above any others in the area. Believe me you won't beat the service and the price!

06/09/2020. Found A Quality on Google search. They had good reviews. So I decided to take my SUV there for repair. I was experiencing a very bad shudder during acceleration. Between 40 and 65 MPH. Indicating a defective torque converter. Planned on paying for an replacement, which would be costly. I was advised by them before making the costly repair try an additive that would minimal in cost. In short it worked beyond expectations. Great customer service and workmanship.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! VERY honest Quality transmission work at a very reasonable rate. The owner didn't up charge me for parts and called me prior to fixing the transmission asking me to come by the shop to show me exactly what went wrong and went as far as letting me know the transmission had been rebuilt before and that whoever rebuilt it forgot to put a bushing in which caused the pump to go bad and blow the front pump seal. Total repair cost for a 4L60e 4x4 which included the pump and pump seal, a rear main seal and front yolk replaced were under $1000.

I was told I would need a new Torque converter due to a shudder problem I called Coleman Trans an was told it would cost 6 to 800 dollars pretty much a screwing from them. I called A1 an talked to Nathan Woods he gave me some good advice about some additives so I took his advice went an seen him I was given 2 botttles of additive Nathan said it would take a couple of days to work an actually it quit the shuddering a couple miles away. Nathan thanks for the advice an the complete honesty you save me atleast 750 dollars. I will be back for any future problems. A+++++++++

One of the things you worry about when dealing with vehicle repair is will you be treated with fairness and honesty. You hear horror stories of how people get ripped off and taken to the cleaners for unnecessary repairs. I have to admit I was a little concerned. Within about 10 minutes my problem was solved. What I was told was a transmission problem by someone else turned out to be a worn out U-joint. Within a couple of hours I was back on the road and the vehicle running great. I could easly have been told that it was a transmission problem that would require a great deal more money than I spent and I probably would have spent the money. Honesty and integrity are qualities that are hard to find these days. I am glad that I found it at A-Quality Transmission.
