Powell's Transmission Service

Did a great Job of explaining in detail some of the issues with my Truck that I was not aware of and kept cost at a very reasonable price for everything he did on top of replacing my Transmission. He came highly recommended and now I know why.

I took my ram there for a Transmission service, PTC had it completed in one day. They went through inspection, updated codes rest taps. PTC was recommended by a coworker and he was right, best in the business.

Very knowledgeable guy. Nice people. He knows the workings of the transmission. Just had mine serviced, but they do everything involved if need be.

The best service I've ever recieved! My truck kept sliding into 4th gear while I was driving on the highway, from New York to Missouri at 3pm the Friday before Christmas. Everyone I called was closing at 4 or 5pm and they wouldn't be able to check it until Thursday after Christmas. I called Powell's and they said come over its ok to drive it less than 2 miles, they fixed my transmission and had me out the door by 6pm.

Anyone else would have told me I needed a new transmission and probably charge me a ton but they found the issue and were reasonably priced! They even called after Christmas to make sure my mom and I got home safe!

You will not find auto mechanics with better professionalism or integrity anywhere. My father-in-law runs his car (and ours) in and they always stop and take a minute to chat and make him feel valued. The price is always reasonable and they review everything they've done and why. We really appreciate their kindness, knowledge, and customer service!

Hey.you have transmission problems, they have the cure! And, at an honest & fair price. Yes it is a bit out-of-the-way for us city folk but even with a tilt bed journey of my vehicle.it was not only cheaper but also done right.

Have dealt with Powell's for years great shop and great people. Family owned with family values. If you think they do not use OE parts your are mistaken! WIT I know for a fact DOES NOT use OE in their kits and other parts all off shore and cheap kits. Robin instant in using quality parts goes above to make sure he gets the best. They are up on all the newest technologies as well.

Somebody used my name on here earlier for a bad review and I wanted to clear any misconceptions. I was a Bentleyville resident for years and have always known Powell's to do excellent work. Never needed them till last year when I had a valve body go out in my transmission and the work done was excellent, fast, and painless to my wallet. Owning a Dodge Cummins you would expect to pay a lot for parts and when things break they expensively break. But the work done to my vehicle was top of the line. 5 Stars! I would recommend anybody that needs transmission work to call Robin or Megan!

Crap work. Had just over 5K miles on a tranny that was built here, ended up losing 5th and 6th gear, in Detroit at 5am. Called them up to explain what had happened, no sympathy, no warranty, they DO NOT stand behind their work at all. Took the tranny into a place near my house after limping my truck home in 4th gear. Couple bolts had backed out of the transmission (no threadlock!) and the fork had become dislodged making 5th and 6th gear inoperable.

The tranny had been leaking fluid, and found that the shifter boot had a hole in it. How does that happen from normal driving and use? I think they must have just reinstalled a damaged boot cover. They either reused original throw out bearing, or installed a cheap crappy throw out bearing, as the one removed was starting to grind. Avoid at all costs. Go somewhere that takes pride in their work, "wher is that?" you may ask. somewhere that offers a warranty on the work they do.
