I was referred to Reeds by a friend; I was in search for a motor replacement on a car of mine. Since my first call to Reeds I've become a frequent, loyal & trusting patron. NO ONE has beat their honest economy prices! And no salvage yard I've called &/or used has removed the parts for me. FOR FREE. EVER. Until Reeds of course. Being a female, a lady might be treated as such calling a yard or store regarding parts.
Not here. Either on the phone or in person to pick up my requested parts (because they remove my parts AT NO CHARGE ), I'm treated just like one of the fellas. *That's PLATINUM to a woman in the auto repair world. Oh! Another great plus (+) I almost forgot to mention. all my purchases from Reeds have been of great quality - NO COMPLAINTS! Currently my travel time to Reeds is on average 30 minutes.
With gas prices as high as they are I've been looked at half cross eyed by friends & family for driving this far. Not buying new or using a yard closer to home (we have many in or near my hometown) is thought absurd. It simply takes me boasting proudly & aloud my price with Reeds verses the price at the local yards & the new prices at the local part stores to shhhh them up! Ha!
And to seal the deal I add. 'annnnd they take the part off for me. FOR FREE!' (crickets) The fellas, each one, sit in silence after that haha! Pretty impressive find for a girl! Thanks for the EXCELLENCE you deliver REEDS! And for the inside chuckles too!

TRIPLE CHECK WHAT TIME THEY CLOSE! Called looking for a specific part for a truck that I'm working on and they said that they had the part available. Told me that they closed at 5pm so I drove from O'Fallon 2 hours away for them to tell me that they actually close at 430. I have not been there yet but I assume Chuck's Auto Salvage has better customer service. (MIND YOU THAT I ONLY NEEDED A HOOD AND 4 BOLTS AND 7 MINUTES I WOULD HAVE BEEN OUT OF THERE)

Bought a complete motor top to bottom for a 2001 f150 supercrew 4x4 with the 5.7 triton for $500 and a small core charge. Sorry don't remember the exact core charge. Called them up on a monday they said they could have it out by Friday. Showed up Friday and there it was. Got it back to the shop guy put it in and started right up. Been running strong, bought it at the beginning of the summer. Thanks Reed's I appreciate the good quality parts at reasonable price's. I Will and looking forward to doing business with y'all again in the future.

So we called the day before and they said they had 4 then got there and they said they had one and then after they not really wanting to get the stuff off the vehicle (i know they don't normal but she is pregnant and the other lady was a older lady) so they told us to come back in a hour and a half. came back they still had not went and looked then after looking nothing there.
I gave 2 starts mostly for the guy that actually went and looked and apologized for not having it he was kind and respectful to a car full of women and children. So moral of the story be prepared to get the stuff your self if you are a women or have a gentleman come with you if possible

THEY WILL ALWAYS CHARGE YOU MORE MONEY THAN WHAT THE WEBSITE PRICES SAY! You ask them about it and they don't care. They have done it for yrs. Mike Reed is rude and doesn't care about customers that work hard for their money because he just scams them for almost double. I've been going there for 20 years and I won't be back! I'm also contacting the FTC and the Better Business Bureau. So hopefully it helps future customers that aren't aware of this place.

Love these guys! I read through the comments and there are a lot of whiners. Never had a bad experience. Long time repeat customer. I will keep coming back. They treat you like you treat them. Nothing is sugar coated. Bring a thick skin, a crude sense if humor, gloves, boots, tools and cash. It is truly an old school no BS operation.

Worst customer service experience ever. Called asking about purchasing a part from them and when asked if they could check the mileage of the vehicle since it is for a transmission they seemed like it was a inconvenience for them to check and asked for me to call back tomorrow I was at least expecting them to take my name and number down and call me back when they got the chance.
When I explained that it was poor customer service to have the customer call back when it was more convenient for them I was told to never call back again. I will never do business with them again.
