This guy is a fraud. Please go somewhere else. He charges you 150$ to touch your car and tell you what AutoZone would tell you free of cost. Please Please Please don't waste your time with this guy. He would not install a part that was not OEM - because he only works with OEM parts - because he cannot be bothered to save money for you. Poor attitude - Poor mindset and overall terrible person.

He is arrogant has a temper and is focused on taking your money. It would be fine if he was the only mechanic in town - but this is jersey.there are hundreds of great mechanics in town. Please go to a Mavis or many other mechanics in the area on Rt 27 - He is out to get your money - that is his only goal.

Electro tech is excellent. They are very knowledgeable, very friendly and when they identify and fix a problem, that's the end of it I bring all my cars to them and am never disappointed. Tom, the owner, is excellent, honest, transparent and takes the time to review everything, highly recommended

The owner presents himself as if he is honest and explains everything, but it's all a facade. He's a master manipulator. He quotes one price, you agree on the price, but when you see the bill, it's way way more. He always has some excuse or explanation. Recently he totally gaslighted me, denied quoting me the price that we had a very clear conversation about and had agreed upon.

He charged double than what my dealer would have charged me! When confronted, he said that I didn't hear him right through the mask. Then he quoted completely different prices than the ones he originally presented. My mistake for going back to him, since this isn't the first time he did this to me. Last time, his excuse was, "Oh I'm so sorry, I quoted you the wrong price, I made a mistake." Also he wanted cash, or it would cost me more money.

This shop is on route 1 and the traffic is so loud that he can't even hear the car properly. I had major noise problems, and he didn't even take my car for a test drive. After I had spent over a 1000 with him, a new noise appeared, and I drove the car back to him. He had the car for 3 days and didn't even bother to work on it. Told me that he didn't hear anything.

But charged me another $300 to replace a belt that didn't need replacing. My mistake for going back to him. Also my mistake for not insisting on an official printed estimate. The bottom line, is that although Tom is very capable as a mechanic, he will rob you blind, and then make you feel bad about it.

Tom Farrell has been my mechanic for over 15 years, and I have been very happy with both the quality of his work, and how I have been treated. Even though he runs a small shop and my requests for service are almost always on short notice (older car), he makes sure to check out my car on a timely basis. He is clear and thorough when stating what needs to be repaired.

His price quotes are always in the ballpark of the actual bill. His prices are fair. Tom knows I'm on a budget, and unlike the larger chains, he doesn't price-gauge or fast-talk me into getting more than what's necessary. He knows my car inside and out, which would never be the case at a large shop. Thanks to Tom, my car is running well for over 250k miles.

Tom and Eric are the best and most honest mechanics you will find anywhere. Several years ago I called Tom in frustration because I was having problems with my Buick that the dealer was unable to fix after having it in the shop twice. Tom correctly diagnosed the problem over the phone! After that, I started bringing all family cars there. My son brought his car in recently with transmission issues.

After checking things out, Eric called the local Ford dealer and found that the problem was under warranty. They could have fixed it and charged me thousands of dollars and I wouldn't have known any better! That's honesty.

After being served with nothing but lies and swindling by a few other mechanics around the area, I was finally refered to Electro Tech when they all gave up. Not only was the service perfect, but Tom and the rest of the crew were genuinely invested in making sure that everything else was too. From efforts to minimize my cost to ensuring that I knew how to further maintain my car, the entire experience was completely the opposite of what I experienced at other auto repair shops. We have been taking our cars to Electro Tech for years and we always feel confident that Tom and Eric will be honest and do great work in a very reasonable amount of time. They are not close to our home, but it is so worth the trip to know that our cars are in good hands. Just last Friday, my older Subaru started having a very loud rattling/growling noise from the engine area.

I was very close to home, so went back and had the car towed to Tom's after realizing that driving it could ruin the car forever. We believed it was something very wrong with the engine. Tom and Eric arrived at work on Saturday morning, to find my Subaru waiting for them, once again, and knowing that we are trying to keep this car going for as long as we can, jumped right on diagnosing our car.

Within less than 1 hour, Tom called with the good news that it was the timing belt/ tensioner pulley and that we did not need a new engine at all. Towing it also saved the car. We discussed the cost and timing of the work and we were back on the road Saturday with a huge weight lifted off of us. Tom always makes sure that we know to call him if there are any issues at all, and checks out other things to make sure the cars are safe before leaving his shop. Cannot say enough about how great it feels to have an honest, caring, responsible team of car guys! Kudos to Tom and Eric. Worth the trip from anywhere!

Tom is friendly and honest - not to mention knowledgeable. An electrical engineer with a love of cars he can explain any aspect in all the detail you desire and makes it very easy to understand. He worked with us on an old car to do only as much as necessary to make the car safe and functional. It is great to deal with the owner (Tom) and know he does the work himself (along with trusted sidekick, Eric).

He is fair and gives a quote up front. If he needs ti charge time for labor involved in diagnosing he will tell you up front and give a ceiling on the amount. Highly recommend.

I had a serious malfunction issue with my car. My regular mechanic suggested I get rid of it since the cost for repair would be great due to the issue being engine related. After speaking with the owner (Tom) I decided to let Electro Tech Auto take a look at my car and I am very happy I did.

Not only were they able to fix the issue ( at a fraction of what I was led to believe) but they made other suggestions to make my car run even more efficiently (very noticeable improvement in performance). Tom would call me multiple times to give me unsolicited updates about my repair and also kept me abreast of what the service and parts would cost. Electro Tech Auto of Monmouth Junction is honest, fair and extremely experienced in all things automotive. I highly recommend them and will be taking my business to them moving forward.
