I had a minor problem with my car last week. I stopped by to see if they could help because I was leaving town for a family funeral. They somehow fit me in and fixed the problem so I could unexpectedly travel. It didn't take long but to know I didn't have to go find someone else to help was a huge relief. Thank you Ulmer's. You are absolutely my go to auto repair.

My experience here was that this is good people, with all around excellent customer service and trustworthy follow through! Ulmers also provided a shuttle back to my house in a heat wave- super appreciated! They provided a thorough diagnoses and a very affordable fix of an oil leak that was scaring me - such a relief! Also gave us a thorough diagnoses in writing, of a bad AC unit that's been through a costly replacement already with multiple compressors to boot- we will now be able to use this professional written assessment to get the job done right at the original point of repair-hopefully still under warranty)) thanks y'all! I will be back with our other cars! Grateful to find you!

TL;DR: Ulmer's went above and beyond to fix an issue caused by a cheaper mechanic. I'm from out of town (Mountain West) and was horrified to have all the lights and alarms go off in my car in the middle of Kentucky. It was Memorial Day weekend so NO ONE was open. I had my car towed to Ulmer's because it was close to were I was staying and I had no prior knowledge of the company.

They were super busy but adapted and squeezed me in anyways for the next week. Turns out my brand new water pump had been improperly installed and shook loose, causing extra damage to my car. Ulmer's worked with my local mechanic directly to get the repairs paid for and handled in a super professional manner. Steve stayed late and came in early to get it all done. They communicated about timelines and kept me in the loop. If I am ever in town again, I will go out of my way to use Ulmer's if the need arises. They are that good.

Steve really took care of me. My car needed a very expensive transmission replacement, which was covered under a warranty extension from the manufacturer due to the transmission problem being a known issue. The local dealership didn't want to cover it due to loopholes/technical wording in the warranty text, but Steve pushed it through. I don't know that any other shop would have dealt with the dealer for me. Steve kept me in the loop and explained each step. Ulmer's also fixed some other issues and my car feels better than it has in a long time. Take your business here if you like honesty and respect.

I needed my front wheel bearings replaced, we discovered the issue a few weeks ago. Ulmers gave me a price estimate and scheduled the work. The work was completed in a timely manner within the estimated amount. The service is professional, informative, and friendly. This wasn't a small ticket item yet I drove away a satisfied customer and will continue to trust Ulmers for all of my automotive care needs.

I'm in the process of relocating to CO, and I took my vehicle for an inspection at Tire Discounters. After that inspection, my vehicle had issues, and I ended up at another Tire Discounter location, that I asked to also give my vehicle a once over prior to the trip. The two TD locations had varying opinions on what my vehicle may not/may need, I was referred to Ulmer's, by a friend, for a 3rd opinion. Ulmer's was GREAT!

I explained the situation above and was put on the schedule in a timely manner for a bumper to bumper inspection (which includes an oil change!). After the inspection I was called with a list of services recommended and was talked through which were necessary for my big trip and which could wait (this included leaving some services off, that were not needed and could wait, which I appreciated due to keeping the price down and not being told EVERYTHING was required, just bc it was on the table).

I got my vehicle back in a timely manner and it is running the smoothest it has in a LONG time! I recommended my boyfriend to Ulmer's and he is taking his vehicle in as well, prior to the move West. GREAT service! HIGHLY recommend!

As always, prompt, fairly priced and thorough. My daughter's family (4 cars, another to come soon) all go there as well. Trusted, friendly service.

Ulmer's Auto Care did a great job with diagnosing the problem I was having with my car's brakes and tie rods. Everything was explained to me in detail. I was told by another shop that I had a fairly big (expensive) problem with my car, and that they wouldn't fix it. They suggested I take it to the dealer. However, I saw many good reviews for Ulmer's, so I decided to have them take a look. I spoke with Wesley from start to finish. They checked out my car and informed me that my issue was fairly straightforward.

They were able to fix it within a few hours and were very reasonably priced. Additionally, when they called to tell me it was ready, they also informed me they had a shuttle service available. Cindy came and picked me up within 20 minutes and brought me to my car. Everyone was so friendly here. Looks like our family has found a new place to have our cars worked on, and I will recommend them to anyone that asks!

The best place EVER! My car had multiple issues and the guys took such great care of me and my car! My 2011 Ford Edge runs just like it was driven off the lot. They explained everything to me in layman's terms so that I understood completely what was going on with my car and what it entailed to fix her up! I honestly couldn't be happier. Ulmers is simply the best! Customer service is their middle name. One visit the air conditioner needed replacement. They checked with Land Rover and it was under warranty. Things that have broken over the years, they always find a solution to whatever is wrong. They Starnes behind their service. LOVE these guys. Simply the best. Ulmer's is simply the best. I consider them premier care for my vehicles, and the people working there are some of the greatest customer service professionals you could meet. Honest, up-front about potential costs, and have even told me when I didn't need something done. I also love supporting local business, and they are a gem in the Anderson/Milford area.

I had one of my high intensity headlights burn out this morning. I talked to Wesley on the phone and he invited me to bring it in right away. By the time I got there he had already ordered and received the part and had it installed immediately (while I waited). The procedure was quick and reasonably priced.

Ulmers is great. Have been taking our cars there for a few years. Always feel like the work is done right, the prices are reasonable and the service is great. I can't tell you how many times they have talked us out of needing a service versus some places that try to sell you a bunch of things you don't need! They also make the appointment process and payment super easy.

Thank you Ulmer's! These guys are awesome. We have taken our cars to them for a few years. They have always taken good care of us. But today they really came through for us. We were all packed for a 10 hour road trip. Car top carrier on, dog in crate, kids strapped in.then the car wouldn't start! We called them for advice and they walked us through jumpstarting the car. We got to them and they had us set up with a new battery and ran a diagnostic to make sure we were good to go all within 10 minutes! They saved the day.

With so many uncertainties during this COVID season, it is hard to overstate how nice it is to know that at least you have great mechanics looking after your car. I keep discovering more of my friends who take their vehicle here. City-wide reputation.

Great service. I've been taking my cars here for years. Whenever unexpected issues have cropped up with my son's older car, they accommodate and take care of it. I can't say enough good about them.

Not sure where they hire mechanics from but I would not recommend this place. My wife took her Jeep in for some clutch work and before they began they needed to remove the gear shift knob. Please see the pictures for the damage that they did to it. They could not get a simple gear shift knob off. They damaged it. They then told her it had put "a few scratches on it". Seriously, looks like an alligator attacked it!

So not only could they not get the gear shift knob off and they damaged it, they also could not do the repairs and charged her $200+. Never will we return to this sham of a mechanic! you are warned!

Great work at a fair price, shout out to Wesley for getting my son's car worked on in a timely manner, he has an odd work schedule and we were able to get his car worked on, and back to us quickly. Great alternative if your done with those dealers who like to play games. 6/19/20 Update Again! Shout out to Steve and Fred, 3rd time getting the axle seal replaced on my sons Corolla, they found out what was causing it to wear out and leak so often, a loose axle shaft, something that the local Toyota dealer couldn't figure out after two tries! Along with an amazing warranty, incredible customer service, why go anywhere else?

Always helpful, always honest. These guys have taken care of my MDX forever. now with over 200,000 miles under its wheels. Great service, friendly, knowledgeable and just plain sweethearts! I won't go anywhere else!

Meh, not a fan. Have used Ulmer's twice for two different cars. First time the car wasn't fixed and the bill was hefty. Second time I was in for an oil change. Took a long time to complete & a phone call that we needed a list of other things as well. Just seemed like a very typical way of upcharging. Number 1 problem here is the price. Tried to give them a chance because they're local but we will continue any future work at our dealership and save a tooooooooon of money (even with coupons). Nice people, always busy. Just not a fit for us. If you want super nice customer service that is pricey, Ulmer's is your mechanic.

As the myth goes "women get treated like their stupid at mechanics" or something like that. Not true here. Granted, I don't know much about cars, but I have never felt that they were talking down to me. I had a tire emergency recently and they got me in and out (it was just before they were closing) in about 30 minutes. They patched the hole in my tire and since i was bringing my car in for something else the next week, they let me pay for that patching on the next bill.

It might seem strange to highly rate a place where I wind up spending a lot of money on boring things like auto repairs, but they are so good that I almost don't even mind. I have heard around town that Ulmer's is typically somewhat more expensive than other nearby shops, and while that may be true, the fact that I know I'm going to get an accurate estimate, a straightforward explanation, and a solid repair is money in the bank, to me. I've never had to bring my van back because a repair was done incorrectly, and they have never come back with a price higher than their initial estimate.

They always assure me that if they did find something else during the repair that they'd call right away to key me in on any additional cost. They also always give me info about repairs I should be anticipating down the road (this latest time they told me about some parts in my suspension system that are showing their age, which is completely reasonable on an 11-year-old vehicle, but assured me I could hold off a bit longer).

Beyond knowing their way around a car or two, they are also just extremely nice. They know no one is excited about unexpected auto repairs, but they don't add to that stress by giving you the runaround or trying to constantly upsell you on unnecessary services. They keep in touch with you throughout the process, and as a woman, I greatly appreciate that none of the people here have ever talked down to me (a very common experience at repair shops). We really don't go anywhere else at this point.

Best auto shop experience I've ever had! My car battery needed to be replaced, and they were able to check it out, install a new one and get me on my way in 15 minutes. Roadside assistance recommended Ulmer's to me, and I'm so glad they did! Everyone that I talked to, especially Steve and Wesley, were helpful, polite and a pleasure to do business with. Seriously, if you live on the east side, don't take your car anywhere else. I'll be back!
