Haglin Automotive And Boulder Transmission

I have been a customer for over 15 years and I have found that HAGLIN IS THE BEST SHOP AROUND! I love this place! They are very thorough and I always feel like my car is in the best hands possible. I RECOMMEND HAGLIN TO EVERYONE! They have a friendly staff and they are always letting me know about up-coming repairs ahead of time. Which is nice, because I'm on a budget. BEST THERE IS. HONEST MECHANIC!

I brought my 2016 Honda CR-V in to the shop on March 29 with issues of the vehicle accelerating at low speeds with a whirring/screeching noise whenever I accelerated. I chose this shop because of all of the amazing reviews left by fellow customers. It was diagnosed with a failed oil pressure sensor which needed to be replaced along with fluids in the transmission (total cost of $547 for just that).

I also had my mechanic do a price check and was able to get the initial price down a significant amount thanks to him. I had them do an oil change as well for which they charged me $120 for and I got it cut down to $60. The car seemed to be working well and I had no issues up until exactly 30 days from the original date of service. I began having the exact same issues as I was when I brought the vehicle in the first time.

They then proceeded to diagnose the car with a completely failed transmission which would need to be replaced for a total cost of between $7,019-$8793. I spent the money initially expecting for that to fix the issue especially after they did a diagnostic specifically for the transmission, then had to return the vehicle in hopes that it was another failed sensor that would be covered under their warranty only for them to drop a very costly repair on me. Needless to say I luckily was able to do a price check and found a place in Lakewood as well as Colorado Springs that gave me a much more affordable price for the work being done ($4,500 for everything, fluids, CVT transmission, and labor).

I just want to provide an honest review of my experience. Overall the employees were kind and I felt like they generally knew what they were talking about, just felt taken advantage of with the cost of the repairs. Update** Turns out the transmission is completely fine and does not need to be replaced. The power transfer unit needed to be replaced for a total cost of $1200. I highly DO NOT recommend using Hamlin Automotive unless you want to be ripped off.

This is a great shop. I have a 2004 4Runner that was having a transmission / transfer case fluid leak. Another shop wanted to replace my entire transmission ($4k). These guys were able to question that advice on the spot, required a minor repair, saved thousands. During the process a mistake was made, but parts were in short supply. The team worked it out and did not charge me for the add'l labor, etc. Some shops would have literally milked the situation, but this team took the high road, which is super rare and super appreciated. They now have my work for sure.

I had some service on my truck that needed to be completed. Haglin got me in and took care of the service but found a couple of additional issues that needed attention. They gave me a full description of the issues and options, which I appreciated. And they still came in on time and under budget. They've got my business from now on.

Everyone, especially Chance, has been great help! They offered a no-strings-attached inspection, gave a reasonable quote, and didnt pressure me into getting a repair done right away. Chance was upfront with me and also suggested the option of putting the repair costs towards a new car (I have already gone past 200k miles on this car and I needed my clutch assembly replaced).

This gave me the impression that they really cared about people, and it wasn't just about the transaction. I went through with the repair after some thought and I am extremely happy with what they've done. Chance said my car felt like a whole different car, and he wasn't lying. Smoother driving for sure! Would definitely bring my car back for any other repairs in the future.

Haglin was awesome. Very clear, very thorough, very straightforward, fair, and clear pricing, and never did the "talk to your husband" thing. Every interaction was both professional and nice. Thus far, the work was very well done (had to replace my car's engine). I would 100% recommend them - particularly for catastrophic issues, but also for regular maintenance.

They did a complete inspection so we could decide if the expensive work was worthwhile based on the state of the whole car. They were very upfront (story about it would 2x this review). They made a very stressful event so much easier.

I have used Haglin in the past and found the service staff friendly. However, they do charge quite a bit more than other places. I recently took my 4-Runner in for an oil change in which I was told I needed a CV replaced and that the boot was ripped (669.00). I was also told I needed a brake fluid exchange (another couple of hundred). I then took my vehicle to a Toyota dealer to do the CV because they only charged 300.00. However, the Toyota dealer called and informed me that my CV was fine nor was my boot ripped and that I did not need a brake fluid exchange. No charge from the Toyota dealer. Shame on you Haglin!

Had to have the auxiliary cable fixed as the fan was not blowing out of the correct area when selected. They reconnected the cable and no replacement was needed. This was done at a fair price and only charged a discovery fee. They are efficient with communication via text. I like the quote and invoice process. They initially forgot my discount but quicky corrected it. Had my oil changed as well with no issues. The owner even gave me a ride home in snowy, blustery conditions after dropping off my car for the repair. I recommend Haglin Automotive.

I've been a customer of Haglin for many years because they are honest, sincere, friendly, and do excellent work. This time, my rear windshield had literally EXPLODED after the vicious windstorm (that caused the tragic historic fire). Even though the first windshield they installed also shattered (and bloodied the installer! ), they didn't increase my bill beyond the original estimate! Idk how they did it, but I truly appreciate it and my new windshield looks great!
