All Around Automotive, Inc. was founded in 1988 in Portland, Oregon. We started with the old adage of treating people how we would want to be treated and still believe it's the right practice today. From the beginning, our philosophy has been to give outstanding personal service and quality repairs all backed with a strong warranty.
Check the air in your tires once every month and keep them inflated to the proper pressure for better gas mileage and longer tire life. Vehicles that have custom wheels installed will often have different size lug nuts or a wheel lock key that is a different size from the original set, so the lug nut wrench that came with the vehicle will not work in the event of a flat tire.

I am the daughter of a retired mechanic. I'm extremely particular about who I take my cars to. These guys are hands down the best mechanics I've dealt with in my adult life. They are honest, give you all your options, and do quality work. It's peace of mind to have people that you can trust deliver any auto repair news, because let's face it, we'd all rather be spending our money on other things besides car repair. At least knowing you are being dealt a fair honest hand makes it easier to swallow.

Justin who works at All Around Automotive is a great guy. Friendly and he knows cars. They did a repair to fix some squeaking and it didn't work so they refunded my money. I've been using All Around Automotive for years and they do good work at fair prices. Convenient location too for those that live in the Richmond neighborhood.

This was the worst experience with a mechanic i have ever had. It took them two weeks to even look at my car and a month to repair it. After charging me 4-6 times the price of every part plus extensive labor costs they went on and on about how much of a deal they were giving me. Not even a month after the "repair" my fiance and I were moving to another state.
We were driving in the middle of nowhere when my oil light came on. Not even five minutes later my engine starts knocking and my engine is dead. All around auto supposedly did a full oil service and change. We ended up hiking 20 miles to get oil to find out the engine was beyond repair. We were stranded in the middle of nowhere, no mechanic could see us for 2 weeks and the insurance couldn't look at it until then, paid towing fees and had to sell my car for a fraction of the price to even get out of the town. Now we're without a car and looking for a new one on our own dime in a super inflated used car market. Avoid this place like the plague!

I am seriously so grateful to have stumbled across these guys about a year and a half ago now. We have an older conversion van (1995) that we purchased to make our camping and festival van. Because of this, it is imperative for us that she is in the best running condition so we obviously don't get stranded. We can honestly say that, thanks to All Around, we have been to three festivals, did a 4 day OR road trip and probably 6 different camping trips all over OR with zero vehicle issues (knock on wood)!
All Around has always performed a full vehicle check (when we request), written down whatever they feel should and/or must get fixed, explain it all and even provide which repairs need sooner than later and which were safety/mechanically priority to help out our budget and be able to fit all repairs in while keeping safety as the top priority. We couldn't ask for more when it comes to support and service.
In addition, All Around is also the best in my opinion for their ability to explain the situation in non-technical terms so you can understand what you need repaired, as well as for their thoroughness. As an example we initially took our van to a previous mechanic that was very reputable (and a lot more $$$ might I add) and All Around discovered that the other mechanic had installed one of our rear brakes incorrectly!
That was frustrating b/c we just dropped a lot of $$$ to get the entire rear brakes repaired/upgraded by this other mechanic. The best part was that All Around documented everything and told me if I wanted to go talk to the previous mechanic and let them know what was discovered, that they would be more than happy to discuss it with them in more detail if they wanted.
Now that is just amazing in my opinion! That is tip top customer service and something I feel is very hard to come by now-a-days. All Around Automotive is a unicorn in the world of mechanics in my opinion because of their level of honesty, very competitive pricing, level of competence and their ability to not make you feel like an idiot when explaining what you need.
As a customer we are not mechanics and I feel here they not only know and understand that but take it into consideration with their approach with explaining your vehicle repair so you can actually understand and be confident that not only is the repair needed but that it will also get done right the first time! Thank you All Around Automotive for just being you and taking care of your customers like we're family!

I have had nothing but great experiences with AAA and would (and do) recommend them! Everyone there is super friendly, and are great about explaining things I don't understand (which is most of it). I always feel like they are being honest with me about what's going on with the car. They call me when they have an idea of what the problem is, and give me all the details and options with price quotes.
They'll tell me what needs to be done ASAP versus what can wait if I don't have the budget for it. I've taken both my cars there for various things over the years, and always go there for services and oil changes. The turnaround is always quick, too. Thanks guys!

I can't recommend these guys enough. Choosing a trustworthy, efficient car mechanic can be tough. Once I found All Around two years ago, I haven't gone to anywhere else and don't plan to for as long as I live in Portland. Not only are they locally run, good at what they do, and keep prices as low as possible, but they are extremely honest and friendly people. Justin and James know almost all of their customers by name and are friendly with everyone that walks in.
That extra layer of customer service and getting to know your customers makes a huge difference. When I have to spend a lot of money on getting my car fixed (I have an old Toyota, so it happens a lot), going into All Around and laughing with James and Justin makes the whole experience better. It's like Cheers where everybody knows your name and can make fun of you for always forgetting to turn your lights off. If you're looking for a place that is great at fixing cars, doesn't escalate the prices, and has a great staff, then All Around is the place.

All Around has been working on my old pick up for a few years now. They perform my regular maintenance and have done some larger jobs including a clutch replacement and installing new shocks. All of their work has been reliable and trustworthy. They review everything with me and give me options for what needs to be done. They are not always the cheapest option but I have never paid to much more than the cheapest shop and All Around uses top quality parts.
The folks there are super friendly and have always done something extra for me. They're good people to know and they know their jobs well. I highly recommend them especially for people who are less informed about the mechanics of their cars.

The folks at All Around Automotive are super friendly, honest, and professional. They do not do any work on my car that isn't needed. They explain everything that needs to be repaired and why. Their estimates are spot on and their prices are reasonable, their work is excellent! I trust the mechanics and I feel safe in my 2005 Saturn. I recently got new brakes, tires, struts and shocks instead of trading it in for a newer car.
The mechanic gave me very good information so that I could make an informed decision. I'm glad I kept it. It runs like new! Thank you! I highly recommend All Around Automotive.
