Great service. I called and received a quick reply and was able to get in the same day. I was also given a thorough explanation of the issue and the steps taken to resolve it. Also, well and fairly priced.

He fixed my car one day earlier than expected. He also gave me knowledge about what was going on with my vehicle instead of just servicing it. The way that this man multi tasks is amazing. He gets things done.

Alba auto service is amazing. They are always looking out for your best interest. The owner will let you know what needs to be done on your car and the most cost effective option. For example, my mirror was knocked off my car. Jimmy called around to a few places and found the price of a new mirror but also told me to just check on Amazon for a mirror. It was less expensive on amazon, so I bought the mirror and had him install it. Very honest people. Highly recommend!

Very straightforward and trustworthy mechanic. One of the services I got done unexpectedly ended up requiring more parts and labor to complete. (The dealership confirmed this, despite THEM missing it when they originally recommended the service). Jimmy called me and explained the situation before proceeding. He then still honored the original estimate, only adding on the cost of the additional parts despite it requiring twice the labor. Will definitely be back for future services.

Picked Alba based on reviews and soo happy I started coming here. Jimmy is not the shady mechanic taking advantage type. he works w my goals and budget for my older car and is super honest about what I should do or don't necessarily need to do. will keep coming for my current oldie, and will continue when I get a new one

I cannot recommend Alba's Auto Service enough. They have done an amazing job fixing my car time and time again usually fixing mistakes that the dealership service has left. And most importantly, they are always incredibly honest and upfront. If you need car repair, you should go here.

I was having electrical issues with my car and it wouldn't turn on. I was lucky enough to find Alba Auto Service and they really saved the day. They were able to quickly tow my car to the shop, diagnose the problem and call the let me know my options. He was upfront and was pushy with up selling. When I picked up my car, he had pictures of what he did and even had the hood open and ready to show me everything. Also, the price for the job done was very reasonable. I'd recommend him to anyone looking for an honest, no pressure mechanic.

I walked in to Alba Auto planning to spend 600-700 dollars, but after getting my car looked at they said it'd only cost me around 500. The service was quick and my car was only in the shop for one night. Had to get both front axles replaced, and my car drives more smoothly than it has for the two years that I've owned it. Fast, affordable, easy to work with, will definitely visit again with future auto needs.

I'm very pleased and will return for all repairs. Had exhaust issues and the cadylic converter needed replacing. Wasn't crazy expensive. I dropped my Dodge Journey off Wednesday afternoon and picked it up Friday afternoon. Plus gave me a run down of a few additional issues, which I already previously knew about. Great service and I feel I can trust him to be fair and honest after this great initial visit.

I just moved into the area and went to Alba based on their reviews. My experience was outstanding! The owner Jimmy is an honest down to earth guy who wanted to just do a good solid repair of my van. He encountered some difficulties and instead of a quick patch, he worked thru the problem, spending more hours than originally quoted. I was expecting a big bill, and I would've understood, but instead he charged me for the original estimated hours. I told him he has a new regular customer!

This is my new auto shop to bring my car to. The super polite gentleman working there named Mo helped get my car serviced right away. I brought in springs for a coil conversion from air bag suspension to regular spring coils on my older Lincoln town car and they finished it quick. They also put in new brakes, aligned my wheels and a premium oil change. Can't thank you guys enough for an extremely fair price and speedy service.

I only came for an oil change, so we had just a quick interaction. But Jimmy was really kind and thoughtful. I look forward to Jimmy and Alba being my new "go to" mechanic in the city.

Our first day in Chicago moving into the apartment was met with a dead battery. Our insurance company recommended Jimmy at Alba. Not only did Jimmy get the car running and offer the cheaper option of not replacing the battery but when I asked him about two other issues with the Jeep he was able to fix them when no one else could figure it out. He's honest and talented!

Jimmy the owner responded super quick to my quote request for my dad's car not starting issue on Sunday! It turned out that my dad's car battery was completely out. Jimmy's response was super prompt and I really appreciated how he professionally approached to help my situation. I ended up having my father drive the car home after our insurance roadside assistance was able to jump start the car but I really found Jimmy's responsiveness super helpful given the fact that today's Sunday and his place is closed. Like a ton of others, I found Alba due to the good reviews on yelp. In fact you type "Mechanic Ravenswood" and this is one of the shops that pops up first. Previously my interactions with mechanics are hit or miss. I've went to chain places and had horrible work done, but the reviews are true: Alba Auto is straight forward and honest. About a week ago my brother told me my car may be leaking oil since he saw few drops on his driveway. Didn't think anything of it till this sunday when i pulled away from his place, saw a small puddle.

My oil light came on and I went to the local O'Reilly's, putting in 3 quarts (which is a lot of oil for a 4cyl car. This morning in the rain i noticed oil puddles oozing from my car. Hopped on yelp found Alba, and called. I brought in the car this morning before work. Alba Auto inspected it called me back in an hour to tell me the diagnosis (as well as other things they noticed wrong), but never pressured me to fix everything.

Let me know which ones would need addressing soon and which ones will have a bit more time on them. Got my car back at the end of the day once the issue was discovered and fixed. Very reasonable pricing! I will be back for other work.

Fast, fair, and flexible. A routine check-up turned up a rather substantial issue, and as soon as I mentioned that my budget was a concern, Jimmy started offering solutions that might only be temporary fixes but would give me a chance to save to get it done properly. And in the two issues I've gone to him for since (one unrelated and the other doing the full repair), he has remembered that.

In addition to being totally free of judgement that my finances are tight, he was willing to explain the problems and their potential solutions repeatedly when I was trying to wrap my head around what needed to happen. Cars are not my thing, and most of the time people get more frustrated, more quickly, and over smaller issues. Jimmy was honest and straightforward and didn't seem annoyed by my total inexperience.

And on top of that, I've had major repairs finished over a weekend. That's the longest he has ever kept my car by a long shot. You can't go wrong going here, and as long as I'm close enough to do so I'm going to keep coming.

I've been here several times. I started going here after getting a strong recommendation from a friend. Jimmy, the owner, has always performed top notch service, has been very fast (usually same day), and been extremely friendly. I much prefer the Jimmy's over a dealership because of the price, speed and service. He has even given myself and my wife complimentary rides home on two occasions.

I started bringing my car here about 6 months ago at the emphatic recommendation of a colleague, for a belt issue, broken AC, and later an oil change. Initially I felt welcomed and respected and that I was receiving honest and fair service. After 3 months the AC ceased working again. I brought my car in to speak to the owner, Jimmy, in person, and he berated and belittled me about him not having any obligation to stand by his work, and that I should have known that the current temperature is too low to test the AC again, so there's nothing he can do. I've been to many mechanics, never have I been yelled at in a rude, defensive manner. Take your business elsewhere.

My battery died right outside their shop. Convenient, right? Well. He wanted to charge me $25 for a jump. But refused my payment (I had no cash); I had my credit card and he refused to do it because I had no cash and would charge me $30 instead. When I showed my shock at the 20% surcharge for using a credit card he grew very angry and walked away.

I said I would do a couple of dollars over, but didn't think it fair to pay a 20% surcharge for paying with a debit card. When I asked him to check my battery he said it was $75 just to test it. I blurted our tat auto zone would do it for a lot less or even free (bad move on my part) well, that did it for him. He walked away from me, told me he wouldn't jump my car, even after I agreed to pay his surcharge, and shut the door of his garage on me. Classy.

I bought the $25 oil change package off the website, then called to schedule and Jimmy told me to come right in. I was in and out in under 20 minutes, and Jimmy took the time (while the oil was draining) to inspect under my car and take care of a few minor problems without any extra charge. The service here can't be beat and the prices are better than many of the big chain places!
