These guys did a frion leak check on my old truck and it has an extremely slow leak. I had this same issue on another car and another shop replaced ALL OF THE HOSES and charged me like $2,000. These guys just did the diagnostic for a hundred bucks and told me to just repack the A/C fluid every two years, which was TOTALLY the way to go. Thanks for not messing with me B&F Auto Air Conditioning. I will be a client for life.

The AC on my Chevy Silverado show truck was blowing hot air. Apart from the Chevy dealer I spoke with five different mechanics but only two said they could resolve the problem. The others simply did not have the equipment needed to service an AC system requiring R1234YF refrigerant. I leaned towards Mike's shop because I was well received and noticed the work area was very organized and clean.
In addition, the level of Mike's knowledge of what was needed to properly diagnose and resolve the problem was better explained to me then from the Chevy dealer and other mechanics. He also struck me as a man who takes his work very seriously and does exactly what he says he will do. I'm very pleased with the quality work on my truck and the level of care it received.
My AC now actually works better than before. I absolutely would recommend Mike's shop and I will certainly keep his number on my shortlist of go-to mechanics. - Roland Martinez.

Being from out of state, and up north, the CA heat was melting me! My AC was only pumping warm air. They told me I'd have to come back it was in the afternoon and they close at 4pm. They open at 8am and it's first come first serve, so I showed up early and waited near the entrance. They opened up right on time, and I got in straight away : the AC test takes about 3 hrs, luckily had my bike and the shop directed me toward to the beach.
So I spent a few hours at the beach and they contacted me when it was ready. They didn't detect a leak, it was just that I was very low on freon, which they'd topped up for me already. And what a relief! Nice cool air again. They even told me if there's any problem again in a couple weeks to come back and they'd test it again for free! Price was fair about 200$ Good spot, my advice, be there at 8am and get in first thing

Quoted $650 for AC repair. (400 part / 250 labor) after 30 minutes online I found a repair method that took 10 minutes and $30. The part they wanted to get was expensive. But $250 to pull out 2 cables from the module and then reconnect them? I wouldn't be upset if he gave me the time of day and tried to explain. Now I know for a fact they wanted to cheat me with such a major overcharge. Never coming back.

Mike at B&F auto air conditioning is the man! I have a 1995 custom Ford bronco at the AC went out and two of his competitors Fords auto service and Steve's D&S Auto ac refused to work on my car because they didn't want to or feel like it. Mike had the problem fixed the same day and I will never bring any of my cars anywhere else for air-conditioning issues I'm actually bringing my toy tundra over to him and swap out for my bronco. Thanks again B&F and Mike for being so honest and a class act!

My car's AC was only breathing hot air. I made the mistake of not heeding my mechanic's advice right away when he recommended to go to B&F and instead went to Pep Boys. I spent $50 at Pep Boys for them to fail at running a diagnostic and then tell me that they couldn't fix the problem with no recommendation as to who could. Having wasted my time and money, I then went to B&F concerned about how much it would cost (my mechanic, who is very reliable, said it would be around $1,000). Mike at B&F figured out a work around, because the discontinued part would have been nearly impossible to find and $600 to install along with everything else, and everything is fixed and running perfectly for about $400. I cannot recommend B&F enough. Do not waste your time and money going anywhere else.

This man charged me $1,300 to fix my air in my Lincoln! The heater was coming on the same time, as the air conditioner. I assumed it was fixed, paid him, & left to pick a client up, guess what, still blowing heat! I went back the next day, & he said he fixed it! No, no, no, I can't drive customers, or even drive it myself! So, I said, "dis-connect the heater so there's no more heat blowing out"!
Yeah that fixed it, no more heat, & air was allowed to blow cold, with the heater dis- connected. So, paying all that money, & he wasn't smart enough to even Mickey Mouse it, so I could have the cold air! I had to solve this problem myself! He has the filthiest, foul, disgusting mouth I've ever heard, just in normal conversations! A real rip-off low life! Trashy man!

We are aghast at your lack of customer care. You charged $1400 for parts and disservice in 2016, and 2 years-and-only a 1000 miles later, you want another $50 later to screw us again. A reputable a/c service location even sent me a video I showed you of your poor installation that caused the leaky o-rings, recommending that we contact CALBAR to put you in a world-of-hurt. The only hurt I could envision is to let you work on this car again. Straighten up! You were the rude one in this transaction! Where did FREE enter your understanding?

On the long drive into Newport Beach we lost our AC. While looking for a mechanic to look into the problem I was referred to B&F to have my Acura looked at. They took a couple of hours and then called me with their analysis. While I wasn't happy with what I heard and the cost that was quoted I went ahead with repairs. The repairs were completed the next day as promised and I picked up my car.
I will mention that the cost of what they did was in range of what my trusted mechanic at home said the repairs would cost albeit higher but not outrageously so. When leaving I had an engine code come up with the car so we stopped in and the professional came and read the code for us. He said the code had nothing to do with the repairs which I agreed with but when he disconnected his computer from the car his attitude seemed a bit short for some reason. However if I have similar issues in Newport again I wouldn't hesitate to use their services in the future.

Lost A/C after a recent storm. Compressor spins but no cold air from vent just warm/hot air. Brought my Accord to B & F to have it checked. They say they need a couple of hours to check it. Called a couple hours later and they told me what the problem was and how much to fix. An hour later the car is ready and the A/C has been blowing cold ever since. Very happy with the A/C service here.

B&F did a fantastic job repairing the air condition on my 2011 BMW. I had received a quote from Irvine BMW for $2,900 for replacement of the air conditioner. Mike took a look at it and was able to repair for $135 total. By looking at his shop it may give you caution but I would not hesitate to use them again. Thanks for the honesty and outstanding service!

These guys are honest. I was sent to them by my regular mechanic because he thought my BMW needed a new compressor. These guys tested everything and found I was just low on freon. They could have easily done the compressor but they did the honest thing and I got off easy and cheap. I will definitely go to them for all my auto ac needs

I give this place a "thumbs down" due to the poor customer service I got from the owner and the cheesy way he failed to honor the 10% discount he advertises on his website. I went in to get the AC recharged on my 91 Cherokee. I found these guys via Google search & saw the 10% discount offer on the website for new customers if you print out the website and take it in.
So I did just that but forgot to give it to his employee when the work was done and I paid with my credit card. When I realized that I forgot to get my discount I called and spoke to Mike the owner. I should have seen it coming when he said I had to come back with the paper but since I live close & the charges came to $101.14 that it would be worth the $11 to go back.
When I did Mike was at the counter & he took my paperwork back to his office & got on his calculator. After making me wait while he stopped working on my issue to go talk to his employee about another job he went back to his office for a few more minutes before coming back to the counter. However, instead of coming back and asking me for my card so he could re-run the transaction he came back saying "You got a smoking deal, my guy only charged you for R134 but your car takes R12 so I'll just leave you at the same price." going on to blame it on his employee not telling him it was a 1991.
I was pretty pissed off. He could have reviewed it over the phone rather than saying to come back and we'll work it out. It there was an error on the part of his employee, he should have still honored the discount. He didn't even apologize for the error or my having to come back. But instead of debating it with this jerk who just made me drive back to his shop so he could stiff me on the discount, I thought I would just share my experience with anyone else who may think about doing business with this guy and getting the discount he baits people with.

I paid over $900 here 18 months ago for a "NEW" compressor. I had a much less expensive quote from another shop for a "rebuilt" compressor, but after reading the good reviews on Yelp, decided to go with B&F Auto Air Conditioning. WOW what a mistake! The compressor pulley just started making noise, so my husband brought it by so Mike could take a look.
Basically since it was past their 12 month warranty, he would do absolutely nothing. AWESOME, THANKS! I'll just go to the Chevrolet dealership, LIFETIME warranty on the compressor, accumulator, and condenser, INCLUDING LABOR TO REPLACE THE PART!

Mike and team did a great job figuring out what was wrong with the car I bought, were very patient with me as I worked out a plan to address the issues, and then got the work done on time and on budget. In fact - Mike called me after the fact to tell me he was refunding some of the repair cost to me since he made a clerical error. When was the last time an auto repair place did that? Highly recommended, and thanks for the working air conditioner guys.

A professional shop staffed by professionals! I had a difficult repair of a broken A/C line behind a custom bumper on my FJ Cruiser. Mike and his tech did an excellent repair and the cost actually came in less than estimated. The shop is clean and well stocked and they get the job done! Don't hesitate to use B & F, even if you have to travel a bit to get there as I did.

I came here based on a recommendation from a coworker. I was looking for someone honest, who wouldn't try and sell me things I did not need or charge crazy prices, and Mike was the guy. He's very good at what he does and honest about it. I came in once after the dealership quoted me a crazy amount. I bought the parts there, brought them in and Mike was honest about not being sure where everything went and that it would take him a while.
He could have told me it took him hours to fix but he didn't. Honesty and reliability in a mechanics are the most important traits for me, and I'm happy I found this place. I recommended the place to my husband and he was very thrilled too! And no I was not off

One star is even too much for this guy! I brought my car in and was told that I would hear back at noon with detail and estimate. After not getting a call by 2pm, I called to see what was going on. He told me that "Oh, I was just about to call you! Need a new dryer.$50.00 ( I found this on line for $20.00) and need to charge the freon and total is $450.00." I asked if he that was the best he could do.
With out sipping a beat, he told me to come back in the winter. I was so shocked that he would say this to his customer. I brought my car in BECAUSE it needed to be fixed. If I could wait till winter, I would not have brought my car in the first place. Either way what a way to treat a customer. I was going to give him my business but with that response, I paid him his $50.00 for diagnosis fee and brought my business somewhere else.

This place is excellent! Mike, the owner, is a friendly lad who takes pride in doing his job right. I have been taking my car there for some years now, and it is always been taken care of really well. I've been recommending this place to a lot of my coworkers, and they all came back to me and thanked me for the recommendation.
