Amazing, high quality work for Porsche sports cars at this family-owned shop. Frannie, Matt, Chris, and LeAnn are all friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about all generations of Porsches. They do everything from classic restorations to race prep for the latest GT cars. And the bonus is the trip of golden retrievers who greet every customer! Update 02/2022: The team here is still doing awesome work!

The people at this shop are like family to me. They will do you right every day of the year. Family owned and operated since I was in highschool driving my little POS riced out Mazda protege 5. Then I had some automatics for gas mileage while I was broke af fresh out of highschool and they still called and made sure I was taking care of my cars. Now I have a slow manual car again and within the first week they've helped me improve the drivability. Absolutely top notch shop right here.

I have taken a few of my classic porches to TPWS. There work is excellent and reasonable. They have been in the industry locally for 25 years and have an excellent reputation. I also have seen the Porsche racing take their cars there. Services: Electrical repair, Steering & suspension repair, Engine repair

This is a Porsche-specific business and they've been there many, many years. Matt heads up the workshop, Frannie the office. No frills. Just great people who really care and know Porsches inside out. Absolute pleasure to know them. Great service and they really do go the extra mile. I cannot emphasize this enough; if you want the service your Porsche deserves, done by someone who cares about getting the job right, go TargaPorscheWorkShop. MATT'S YOUR MAN!

I dragged a 22 year old Porsche 911 into this specialty garage (Porsche only) for a pre-purchase inspection. Franny runs the place. And she runs it well. There were 3-4 technicians hanging out when I came to pick the car up. There was this discussion about which older Porsches were desirable and which models were to be avoided. Fabulous stuff. Spoke with THE tech that went thru the car with a fine toothed comb.
She was quite knowledgeable of course, and didn't mince words about the shortcomings the car had. The overall experience caused me to pause and finally decide to not buy the car. That saved me all kinds of $$$ as well as aggravation. Thanks, TPSW!

I can highly recommend this shop because they really take the time to get repairs right. I had multiple problems with my new (used) Porsche 944 including AC control unit, belts and a few other small things. They kept chipping away at everything until it was repaired to perfection. VERY NICE folks. And they seem to care. That makes all the difference. The parking lot is an ode to old Porsches and very cool to see :-)

Had a great experience getting my 2000 Boxster serviced here. Frannie and her team have a great process in place to keep you informed from start to finish. They exceeded my expectations, demonstrated patience, had consistently timely and clear communication, and were willing to go above and to take care of my service requests. Needless to say, the work they performed on the Boxster was outstanding. Thank you TPWS Team. see you at the next service interval.

My car needed service - nothing fancy: spark plugs, air filters, etc. The dealership wanted a couple thousand bucks so I decided to look around. I am glad I found TPWS. They have been servicing Porsches for 30 years. They only work on Porsches. So they know their stuff. In their garage you can see some old 944s and some new 911s. My service was done quickly and at a reasonable price.
They showed me the old filter and spark plugs too, it's nice to work with a company that embraces transparency. Francine is always helpful and quick to respond. It's a bit of a drive for me, but very much worth it to take good care of my Cayman.

These folks are the best in ATX, hands-down. Know their stuff, CARE, super-honest, fast, reasonably-priced. No fat here - you won't get a loaner, and sometimes they'll discover something after they quote that will require more work, but it's never made-up. But end of the day your Porsche will drive like she was meant to, every time. I've had times when I went to Roger Beasley 4 times only to drive out with the Check Engine light still on, and TPWS fixed it first time AND found an insurance claim to pay for it. Will never take my Porsche anywhere else again. If someone has left a bad review, they are most likely an a-hole. Just sayin'.

Just moved to town and was looking for a good independent service shop. Found TPWS via a number of positive recommendations on PCA and Rennlist. moving from NYC so was used to Manhattan dealer pricing so just assumed I was going to get overcharged or jammed for unnecessary add-ons. Instead, Frannie who manages the shop couldn't have been more helpful - no nonsense, fair pricing, service done on schedule and final bill below estimate.

This is a really great independent Porsche shop. The owners are really nice and never make you feel rushed. My car was serviced by them and they replaced the Infamous IMS bearing, rear main seal, and air oil separator (all electively) on my 02 996. They did the job relatively fast and took the time to show me my bearing as well as those from other cars that were not so lucky and ended up having significant wear once removed.
Since this is my first Porsche, they also took the time to point out a few things in the engine bay in case I needed to add fluids. In summary, these guys rock. I plan to get all future services done here. Prices are very reasonable which is a huge plus. Check them out!

I can't say enough about this business. As a new Porsche owner, the task of finding a trustworthy shop that will not only fix the issue but, also be transparent and affordable, is a huge relief. After one bad experience At a different place, Franny, Chris and everyone were easy to talk to, extremely well trained and, maybe most importantly, very empathetic. The dogs are a real treat as well! Don't worry about owning an older Porsche with these guys.

As another reviewer noted, it is somewhat difficult to get in touch with them. They are very busy and a small shop so patience is needed when calling. However, keep trying as its well worth your effort. The work they do is comprehensive & top notch. They will spend whatever time you need to go over any questions and/or concerns about what work you need done.
I was referred to TPWS by a friend and am very thankful to have learned about them. I will not take my Porsche anywhere else. Excellent, thorough and honest service. It doesn't get any better.

I had a pre-purchase inspection on a 2003 Boxster S done at TPWS and after the purchase I returned the vehicle for some preventative upgrades -IMS Bearing, rear main seal, etc. I could tell from my conversations with Frannie during the PPI and then subsequent work that I had found a really good shop. It is a family operation amd holy smokes are they good.
I was a novice to Porsche's at the time, and Frannie explained everything they found and what were the recommended repairs. The repairs were done quickly and efficiently for a very fair price. Knowing nothing about Porsche's beforehand except that I had wanted one, I feel like I lucked out finding TPWS. Frannie holds down the front office and her husband Matt heads up the technical department, with the rest of their talented family working as technicians. As I said, they really make you feel like part of the TPWS family. I would not take my Porsche anywhere else!

I can not thank the family at TPWS enough. TPWS is literally a family-owned and run institution that specializes in Porsches. I intended to purchase a older Cayman 987.1 and wanted a thorough PPI (pre-purchase inspection) prior. For an extremely reasonable fair, the detailed PPI that demonstrated the car had been thoroughly inspected from front to back.
When I had questions regarding specific faults, the son and daughter mechanics took the time to step away from other projects to point out discrepancies with the vehicle. For example, it was apparent that the tail lights were not running in syn. When I inquired regarding the possible causes and cost to examine/fix, they father mechanic honestly explained it good be a simple inexpensive fix of changing the bulbs to something much more complicated and pricey. Log story short, it was a simple fix that only required a light bulb change, TPWS charged me minimally for the examination/fix, and even allowed me the time in their busy schedule to perform an oil change (as a reasonable fair) considering my long drive back to Houston. Thank you again!

I had a wonderful experience taking my Porsche 997.2 to be worked on. I called multiple places for quotes to have the clutch and brakes done on my car. Franny was one of the only ones to return my call back the same day with a quote. I was able to get my clutch, flywheel, all 4 rotors, pads, synthetic oil change and new airfiliters for less than just the clutch replacement from the Porsche dealership!
They did fantastic work and was able to complete in just 2 days! Franny was amazing to talk and deal with and will definitely be back for any future maintenance or work. Great job guys! Thank you!

I've been using TPWS since I moved back to Austin in 2009 and they feel like family. Thing is, they are family: The shop comprises two generations of people who love and understand these cars in the most pragmatic way you could ask for. Most recently I brought my in car fearing engine failure. I was able to breathe a huge sigh of relief when they discovered it to be a less serious problem. Having budgeted for an engine rebuild I was able to have them address a handful of less-critical issues and got to breathe a second sigh of relief when I saw the final bill. Looking blindly at parts cost I might be tempted to think I was looking at a bill for a Honda or Toyota.
A shop that uses quality parts and doesn't you squeeze on cost - sounds too good to be true, but here you go. Thanks once again to Matt, Frannie, and the crew. I haven't been active in autocross or precision driving stuff for years now and I've thought about parting with my beloved Cayman S for practical reasons. TPWS reminds me again and again that owning a Porsche does not have to be an impractical proposition.

My boyfriend isn't on yelp so I'm posting this for him. I can't speak highly enough of the owner and staff of this company. Their level of service in the Porsche community is the best I've ever seen in the 30 years I've owned Porsches. I highly recommend TPWS for anyone who cares about high quality service and support for their Porsche.
